Free parking friendly staff nice clean big room nice breakfast and leisure facility

Beautiful grounds, good location near Bury Town and the Market. Good Food and services. Nice fitness center and pool. Mostly this is a wedding venue. Not quiet on a summer weekend. This didn't really bother us, but the tiredness of the rooms, the age of the mattresses and the overall age of the in room facilities was poor. The coffee in-room is terrible!! The staff and service however - amazing! We would come back just for that. The Breakfast is wonderful!!

Hotel was ok. Pretty dated. Room was acceptable. Extractor fan in bathroom was very full of lint so not super effective at removing steam. Could do with a bit of a freshen up. Reception staff were very helpful & friendly. Noise level wasn’t too bad but a wedding was going on at the time & the wedding guests talked loudly & until late right outside my room window & it was a bit too stuffy to keep the window closed.

The noise at night time was far worse than hotels located in a city centre. The smoking area is at the front door and people are out there talking & swearing up until 2am

Pleasant stay

Staff where great, friendly,polite and helpful . Room was ok for 1 night but in need of refurb. Hotel grounds are lovely and breakfast was very good.

Spa, gym, pool, and leisure facilities were all fantastic. The hotel rooms weren't great. Small and dated.

The team where outstanding, so helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make the stay brilliant. The breakfast was great and the heath centre next door that you get access too was really good. Honestly the team make this hotel, would recommend staying here any time. Lovely location, food and facilities

Good stay and service was good.

First and foremost the staff were incredible and very helpful. Last orders for food were 845pm and due to a train cancellation we were late arriving. Our order was in for 844pm so the poor chef had to start everything up in the kitchen but it was not a problem. We ordered loaded cheese burgers steak baguette and chicken bacon spaghetti carbonara with a poached egg!!! The food was excellent and the chips were the best ever!! Magnets on tap and cokes for the young ones bill was £78 which was excellent value. Rooms clean and room 31 in particular very spacious. Used the leisure facilities which the hotel have usage of so collect a receipt from hotel reception and take to Stable leisure centre 200 yards away. Top drawer facilities pools jacuzzi steam room sauna gym brilliant!! Again thanks to the staff Michele Tia and others well done!!!

All good - relatively quiet, but there was a bit of road noise. Could make more of the grounds. Nice place though and would stay again

Im just back from a 2 night stay and couldnt fault this place. Staff were lovely and always on hand to help. The pool/sauna is next door at the stables which was beautiful. Big pool was freezing and mainly for lane swimming but smaller pool was lovely and warm. Jacuzzi & whirlpool were great. Room was a basic/standard room and perfect for what I needed. Just a break away to recharge by myself. Food - the reviews were very mixed but I enjoyed it. Only had breakfast one morning as chose to lie in. It was fresh and plenty to choose from. Im a fussy eater and all was ok. Hot food and continental with fruit etc available. I did have a really nice steak burger for dinner one night in the lounge/bar area, which was comfortable whilst watching the tv and relaxing. Overall a lovely stay, and I would go back again. I do have pictures but cant seem to load them.

Location for us near East Lancs Railway was ideal. Room was spacious and clean. Tea/Coffee/milk/cookies on offer in room were generous. Evening food in-house was excellent, service prompt and professional. Breakfast offers were generous and plentiful.

The room had moths on the floor and the air felt stuffy due to the humidity, the sheet had hair on it and dirty in some parts, the walls swollen with moisture and a bathtub with a shower but no hose. Although it felt like a step back in time, there were some positives - the breakfast was delicious.

Beautiful surroundings. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Room quite basic. Not enough disabled parking and the ones that are there are literally no bigger than standard ones. Our wedding party was in the Horseshoe Barn and although it was excellent getting to and from it was very difficult for someone who has balance issues. Pushing a wheelchair over the cobbled road was nigh impossible so we had no choice but to walk. Luckily, although my wife has serious issues with balance, she can walk aided, but others are not so fortunate. More consideration for disabled guests in paramount.

Pleasant stay in clean frendly enviroment

This was an overnight stay on the way back from visiting family; we have stayed at this hotel before. All staff at check-in, bar and restaurant are friendly and helpful. The dinner menu makes good use of locally sourced ingredients and offers interesting menu choices. Portions are generous; I only managed two courses. Breakfast is plentiful and good value for money. The use of linen napkins at breakfast (rather than the usual paper) is a very nice touch. The only thing I would change is the position of the small glass shelf over the washbasin in the bathroom. I managed to head butt it every time I washed my face.

Not too pleased with the restaurant. Breakfast very good, evening meals not up to standard could be a lot better.

Arrived 11.30pm ,was greeted by the night manager very professional and courteous,no problem checking in ,the room was great large and spacious,the facilities are great in the room ,in the morning I experienced the best shower I have ever had in a hotel ,the water was perfect . I look forward to staying at the Bolholt again in the future .

Awful. I’ve stayed in around 17 hotels the last 9 months and this was by far the worst! Everything was fine till about 11:30 when I went to go to sleep. The room was boiling!! But not radiators on. There was also a wedding going on and when I turned the tv off I could hear the music, so much so I could recognise the songs.. grease! This hotel was not ‘the one that I want’! I still fell asleep so all good. Until half past midnight when two people in the car park outside decided to have to domestic of all domestics! Threatening to kill each other, wishing each other dead, sounded like hitting other cars. This went on at least 30 minutes. I was also above the toilet so every time someone went all I heard was the hand dryers! After that for the next nearly 2 hours all I could hear was people outside loud talking, I could hear every word. I rang the reception to be told the wedding was going on till 2am and he’d ask them to be quiet. They weren’t.. so I called again and asked to be moved rooms. I was told there was no only a lady outside.. I wasn’t lying, she was on the phone. The phone was then put down to I me. I finally got a call back and at 2am I was then moved rooms so had to change, pack and move. The second room was much more comfortable, cool and less noisy. Still some noise from outside and even more when they all came to their rooms after it finished. Although better; way too little to late and I then had to do my important Sunday on a few hours sleep!

Great friendly hotel staff

Arrived considerably before check-in for an event elsewhere. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with putting my suitcase in storage, as were those on duty in the restaurant in the morning for breakfast.

Staff were lovely. Hotel was very clean but it was chilly. I was provided with a small electric for my room very quickly which helped a bit. However, with no extra blankets in the room I was still cold in bed. The restaurant was chilly in the morning which was reflected in the breakfast which was luke warm as well. This is the first time I have ever had anything negative to say about a Best Western Hotel.

The rooms were clean and comfortabe , staff very friendly , we stayed for my daughters wedding an the staff made sure things went smoothly

The rooms were comfy but would benifit from some furiture upgrades. Breakfast was ok. Would be better of they had local quality sausages .. not much choice for the continental and yoghurts were cheap. Very nice grounds foe a walk.

The hotel decor/ styling a little basic but made up for by the friendliness of the staff. The highlight was being able to pop across to the leisure centre as their facilities are amazing.

Great hotel nice and clean with good staff we couldn’t say about food as we arrived late and left before breakfast
