Beautiful surroundings, attentive staff, lovely and spacious rooms.

An impeccable hotel! Service beyond anything I have ever seen. The welcome cocktail was delicious!

We had an incredible time at the Montage Palmetto Bluff. The service is unparalleled, and the staff go out of their way to ensure a lovely stay. They have golf carts to shuttle you to and from places on site (dinner, shopping, boating, etc). Additionally, the staff will handle any and all reservations on your behalf. The complimentary bikes allow guests to enjoy a charming way to sight see. There are just so many amenities for a couples weekend or family fun. We loved our weekend away and look forward to returning.

The property is spectacular, very quiet and relaxing. There is a nice size lap pool that was often empty which we particularly enjoyed.

Very friendly people, always ready to assist. Nice restaurants on the property. Beautiful nature! Very quiet. Special thanks to Carmela, concierge who did more than expected to provide us with maximum service.

Incredible attention to detail and everyone was incredibly pleasant and helpful from a customer service. They really make you feel at home and I don't think I have dropped the stresses of everyday life so quickly before, big tip of the cap to the Montage team and amenities for helping that happen.

Always a special stay!

The Montage is located in a community called Palmetto Bluff which is tranquil & stunning. That said, one should be well aware of one significant issue; the hotel is "pet friendly." If you appreciate accommodations that do not smell like wet dog, stay away. The carpets are disgusting. I have included some pictures but unfortunately I cannot include the sensation of smell in my review. The stains in the carpet are partially masked by the rug pattern but trust that, in person, the stains are plentiful. Also note, that the pictured carpet had been “deep cleaned.” And finally, the photo of chewed wooden legs are from 2 separate rooms. My sinuses went haywire & ruined all 10 days of our trip in the area & beyond. I STRONGLY suspect there had been cats in the room at some point due to the explosive reaction I suffered. I pleaded to find us a carpet-free room which they finally did on our 3rd day of a 5 night stay. A manager actually asked “have we done anything wrong?” and “the website says we are pet friendly and there are pictures of carpet there as well.” Really? No amount of the hotel's "deep cleaning" can nullify the allergens or smell. In fairness I have given the hotel 3 stars for two reasons. The grounds are fabulous & the pet policy may appeal to some. That said, benefit from my VERY unfortunate experience and STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE ANY LEVEL OF ALLERGY OR SIMPLY DON’T WANT TO LIVE WHERE DOG AND PERHAPS OTHER ANIMALS HAVE BEEN TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS FOR YEARS

10/10! Staff is always so accommodating. Can’t wait to go back

Didn’t bother reading any reviews- if you’re looking for a slow paced relaxing vacation, visit this resort . Beautiful. Scenic . Alligators - what more could you want from SC ?

The Hotel is amazing. Top Notch but the restaurants of the Hotel and the Resort are grossly overpriced. The Octagon, in particular which is the restaurant of the Hotel has Upeer East Side of Manhattan prices with low average quality food. The desserts where actually pretty bad.

Very quiet and relaxing area

My family and I stayed here for the Christmas holiday and I was astonished at the lack of hospitality by a variety of staff members. Valet was rough and short with us. We arrived late after a long day of travel and at check in I asked if we could have a few waters and ice brought to the room. I even mentioned this request to valet when delivering luggage. After an hour called front desk. Next evening placed request for ride to Riverview restaurant. Ride did not show and we walked late to reservation. Riverview restaurant waitress went out of her way to avoid serving our table and she spent most of her time gossiping with staff about patrons. Waitress did not check in on us .No offering of drinks or desserts. Because of the terrible behavior of staff we cut short our Christmas dinner and left. We asked for vegetarian options as mentioned on the Montage website but found restaurants at hotel do not accommodate requests. I also called ahead of our trip and was assured by concierge the chef would accommodate. Didn’t happen. They need to remove that statement.Worst service I have experienced. We have stayed at Montage locations in Mexico and California and the experiences have been fantastic. That prompted us to stay at Palmetto Bluffs. The property is wonderful but staff and management need to step it up to Montage standards.

It’s just the best. Best service, best food, best scenery, very comfortable rooms, relaxing atmosphere, all around perfect. Dog friendly too!

It’s was ok, starting to get a little tired. Worn out carpets, scruffs on the paint etc. Still a good hotel but missing some of the sparkle it once had.

Fantastic place and amazing grounds and very friendly staff. The only thing they are missing in some sort of casual restaurant or sports bar on the grounds, as the speakeasy was closed every night we were there. Overall, this place was great.

It was the second time coming back and I absolutely love it but this time around a few instances with a specific member of staff really spoiled my anniversary on the final night , as well as another couples from what they had told me.

Our stay was amazing. The entire staff did an excellent job of making us feel welcomed and pampered. The property was flawless and beautiful and there was so much to do and see. Such an emphasis on outdoor living and experiences. Such relaxing surroundings and service everywhere from everyone was truly 5 star! I highly recommend Montage Palmetto Bluff to everyone wanting to experience a vacation of a lifetime!

This was the perfect location to celebrate my 50th birthday with girlfriends. We loved being able to walk or bike to restaurants and activities. The spa was top notch. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Every detail was covered. Truly 5-star, luxury vacation, but nothing felt stuffy or elite. Everyone was extremely friendly and genuine.

this may be the finest resort in the country - the setting feels like a movie set. Amazing and cannot wait to be back

we ate dinner at the river house and loved it so much, we returned the next night! impeccable service and delicious food...our server Benny was magnificent! highly recommend - a must do for anyone in the area, whether staying at the hotel or not!

Beautiful property. Rooms could use some renovating but everything else is absolutely superb.

We chose Bluffton, S.C. to be in the low country. We love the south. Having lived in Savannah, GA., we chose Montage.

The service was exceptional from the valets to the front desk to the golf cart drivers to the staff at all of the restaurants, everyone was warm, friendly competent and so very helpful. The property is absolutely beautiful, well maintained and has so many activities for all ages. We had 14 people for a family vacation aged 10-86 and everyone loved the trip and can't wait to go back. Lindsey, the photographer on site, did an exceptional job of capturing our family. Would highly recommend the hotel! 10 out of 10 !

This property is in the top 4 of hotels I have stayed in and we travel frequently! This property is stunning and we will be back. They think of every added thing they can to enhance your stay. This place is great for families and kids. They have SO many activities. Lastly, this was some of the best service we have ever had! Would highly recommend.

From the moment I drove up to the inn I knew this was going to be a special place. Every staff member was EXCEPTIONAL. I’ve never experienced that level of service or luxury before, even at 5 star hotels. The resort buildings and grounds are beautiful and perfectly manicured. There are so many fun activities and places to explore. I even got to participate in star gazing one night and looked through a high-power telescope to see the craters on the moon. The pools are heated to perfection (who knew winter swimming was fun?!) and there are multiple jacuzzis available all day. Relaxation heaven. They have a coffee station in the morning, cookies, tea and lemonade in the afternoon and s’mores in the evenings by the fire. The spa, massage and amenities were great too. Montage has truly perfected the vacation experience. You can lounge and relax or you can have lots of active adventures. It’s not a stuffy atmosphere at all, but rather warm and welcoming and super friendly. I traveled solo and had the best time meeting other travelers. It’s also SUPER dog friendly! My dog enjoyed the trip as much as I did. Miles and miles of trails to walk and explore. They left a bed, bowls, and homemade biscuits for her in the room. She really freaked out over the dog biscuits so they must have been good. All the restaurants and food were exceptional too. Best meals I’ve ever had. Just a perfect 5 star resort!
