Was in town fir a meeting

It says pet friendly but when I arrived, I was told there was no pet rooms available. There was hardly anyone there. After a lengthy phone call I couldn’t understand, they agreed to rent me a room for another $35.. felt like a scam. I would have went somewhere else but was too tired.

My stay at the Best Western in Emporia, KS was a mixed experience. After traveling 8 1/2 hours to get there, I was held up for 40 minutes at the front desk because they didn't want to honor the price that was confirmed through Hotels.com. And, apparently I was not the first according to the front desk staff. Evidently, the hotel management is wanting people to book directly with them and not go through 3rd parties so that they earn more money. As part of their covert war, they made me suffer through a long wait and conversations with Hotels.com where they mentioned that the "virtual card" (something they receive from Hotels.com) would not work. I suspect this is something the hotel programmed or did on their end to not accept the lower negotiated rate. I eventually got in after paying the hotel directly (not through Hotels.com) with a different credit card and a slightly higher rate. I actually had a separate reservation at the same hotel for the following two nights and had no problem re-checking in with my hotels.com reservation. Other than that, the hotel room and breakfast were decent and we enjoyed spending time at the pool with our grand kids. And the location is in close walking distance to various restaurants and retail stores. Would have been a good stay except for the torture they needlessly put me through the first night.

The room was clean and comfortable. The employees were friendly and courteous. The pool was clean and actually heated. Will definitely stay here again!

The perfect place to stay, especially when traveling to another town

Location was in walkable vicinity of Walmart and several restaurants which was nice after being on the road for 9 hours. Pool was nice for the kids to burn off some energy. Rooms were clean and quiet and the staff were very informative about the area

The front desk staff when I checked in was amazing! He was so friendly and he knew I was traveling with a small child, so he took extra time to mention things to do with children while staying. He also gave a good dinner recommendation that gave a discount for staying at the hotel. He was very charismatic and welcoming. The hotel was very clean, from the entrance to the room. Comfortable, modern, good bed, cool AC, and quiet! The laundry facility and pool were in order and working great. At check out, another employee was very kind and helpful as well!

The place was conveniently located and felt safe. It was average at best. The main negative was that the room and property smelled bad. It had an odor that was musty or mildewy and my door locks were a challenge to use as they were off track, slightly sideways, or the door frame of my room was slightly off so I had to work to engage the lock. The carpet was dirty in my room which I was aware of more so due to the very clean white bedding where every time I got on it there was debris from walking across the floor barefoot.
