Great location.About a 15 min walk from the train station and just steps away from the Altstadt.

Hotter than the surface of the sun. They switch off the air conditioning. Not sure why? I think they believe they are saving penguins rather than caring about the comfort of their guests.
Someone was also smoking on our floor. Took me back to the 90’s. I could have murdered 20 Marlboro lights, right there and then.

We stayed overnight and it was a very comfortable stay and very conveniently located near the old town and cathedral. The rooms are modern and the bathrooms are great. Will definitely stay here again if passing through.

We stayed here 3 nights as a base for visiting the Black Forest. It was perfect. Nice hotel in a central location. You could easily walk into the town. Parking located below the hotel - £20 per night. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel as it was expensive but there were bakeries nearby which were lovely. Freiburg is a good location to drive to various places from.

Okay hotel considering the price. But really bad pillows and when it was raining we could hear water dripping and running through the wall inside of the room.

Very good stay, we were very late due to transport problems. The night duty staff were so helpful, we got to the zimmer just fine.

Very confortable nice hotel, great location near the cathedral and the old town. The staff were awesome, mailed us some items we forgot - very very helpful!! Everyone spoje English so well, very kind.

This is a good hotel in the centre of Freiburg i. Br. The rooms are OK, and so is the personnel. The dining options leave something to be desired: on Monday there is no possibility of dining in the hotel, which was an inconvenience. On our way backj we could sample the menu, but it was not up to much. Parking is in a garage under the hotel. On oru way back, however, the floor of the garage which had parking places reserved for guests of the hotel proved closed, and the garage floor underneatch proved rather busy. It would have been different had we been informed of these changes.

Stayed for two nigh nights to visit Freiburg and made most of it's perfect location.
The staff, including cleaning personnel are very friendly to our dog too. That made our stay very enjoyable.

Close to City, which is reachanke by walking. The hotel has seen better times and needs some renovation esp the floors

There was no electricity in our room throughout the night and in the morning. We couldn't even take a shower, we had extreme problems. They only offered an apology when checking out of the hotel. I do not recommend the hotel to anyone.

The reason for my visit to Freiburg was for the Christmas Market and to see Ravenna Gorge. The hotel was in a good location very close to the Munster and markets. The breakfast, staff and dining area were all very pleasant. It's a nice clean hotel close to shopping too. I would give this hotel 5 stars plus for their staff. When I checked out, I had forgotten my phone and I didn't realize it until I was getting ready to board my train to Baden Baden. A quick call to the hotel revealed they found my phone in my room and turned it in to the desk. I found them to be remarkably trustworthy. It was a great stay in the lovely city of Freiburg!

Beds / mattresses are incredibly hard / uncomfortable- so lack of sleep my main issue. Bar / restaurant very limited opening hours and food choice. Carpets threadbare in many common areas. Only thing going for it is proximity to Freiburgs old town

The hotel is extremely poor and old, the beds are small and the pillows are so poor and old. I would never recommend any of the Mercure Hotel to anyone and will never book at their hotels myself either!

Room was sweltering and without AC even though AC was listed as an amenity. The staff blamed Hotels.com/Expedia for misrepresenting the hotel. The staff said to just open the window, which opened onto a busy street with lots of load partygoers. Very disappointing for the money.
