I liked this hotel a lot. Its a bit old, I had single beds which I didn't order but the hotel is lovely and in a great location. I did not tell them it was my birthday and yet a cake & bottle of wine turned up which I was not expecting. They must have triggered that from my passport I guess? I will stay here again for sure

Great location 15 minute walk to city center with restaurants, attractions anc shopping.

Beautiful side view of the marina from our balcony making a magnificent backdrop as the sun sets. All the staff are courteous, friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet was generous and had a great selection of foodstuffs. The lunchtime salads and coffee served in the bar were delicious. Great indoor and outdoor pools and a decent gym facility for a hotel. The bathrooms and some decor could do with updating but they were clean and comfortable.

Hotel staff are very kind. And, room is so cleaned. I could stay very comfortable.

Highly recommend this hotel for its customer service, spacious rooms, excellent breakfasts, wonderful pool and harbour swimming and location to Valletta. The hotel has a great mix of people, young and old from many countries. You do feel special there and we'd happily stay again.

This hotel has a wonderful location and the service it top notch. Although the hotel needs a revamp in decoration, it is currently like a great old lady

Very nice hotel with beautiful location. Beach is small but not crowded unlike the rest of Malta’s beaches. Rooms are specious with nice, big balcony. All together I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay close to Valleta old town.

The property is nice and allows you to really relax with their pool and private beach. The breakfast was good and offered a decent selection of food. The room was nice and spacious, offering basic amenities, along with a fridge and safe. The staff were very friendly, but we did run into a few issues. The power went out and our rooms power didnt come back on right away, requiring some service. We did have housekeeping come through the room once, but they took our toiletries, and didnt replace what they removed. The hotel also requires you to trade a card for a beach towel and we left our towels in the room which housekeeping took, preventing us from getting our cards back. The front desk was kind enough to give us new cards. Overall, the hotel felt more along the lines of a four star place, but the stay was relaxing none the less.

Superb hotel in every way, cannot fault the staff or service received.

This hotel could achieve 5/5, but reception desk was inefficient & didn't provide us with essential info,& told us that they would bill us the full amt & we agreed, then 3 hrs later stated we hadn't paid yet, causing us to go thru the ck in process twice.Pool not properly cleaned & tile slippery. Too many food service staff stationed by the pool has SERIOUSLY UNBEARABLE body odor. Many of us guests noticed, loosing our appetite. Pool bathroom needed tending too; unusable. Told staff mbr while trying to use the toilet. She refused to help, claiming she worked food service. I politely asked if she worked for the hotel & she said yes, refusing to inform mgmt of the issues. A British guest told me the staff were daft. Finally spoke to a nice staff mbr working in the spa. Training needs to be improved & staff need better hygiene.

Excellent place to stay. Very central location. Hotel was classy and stylish, and friendly people working there. Best thing was the roof top bar! Very modern nice bar with a great view over the city. The breakfast was also served there. Only negative thing; the beds were so hard! We woke up tired. Remember to ask the hotel for an extra mattress...

I didn’t like anything. Rooms where to hot. Ac couldn’t keep up. Rooms smelled moldy. Didn’t get to check in till way after 4. Food was overpriced. Food was terrible. All around a BIG NO.

Grand property but is aging and needs furniture uplift. As this hotel was walkable to Valletta, this option offered us a much more cheaper eating option. The hotel provided good restaurants and options but was pricy. The staff was courteous and excellent. The Pool (indoor and outdoor) was in excellent. The location was great.

Lovely old world class with charm and great service in a dramatic location on the water’s edge in the historic center of Valletta. Great pool and private beach. Easy walks to tourist highlights and ferries.

Loved our stay

Great hotel and pool. Excellent friendly and helpful staff. The food is good but restaurants could do with a children's menu which is available on room service but not in the restaurant, which is odd Quite a steep hill to get up with lots of steps to get to Valetta, so be aware of this. But the staff are always willing to arrange a taxi and there are complimentary cars twice a day. Overall a great place to stay

Overall the property is nice, the pool and beach area are unique for the location. The cost does not necessarily match the service, and the buffet dining is mediocre.

Impecable service, great location and incredible experience

The hotel is lovely especially the pool areas with fabulous service. The room was quite dated but the shower was brilliant , a proper power shower in a cubicle

Beautiful hotel with large rooms and traditional classical decor. Staff were always friendly and happy to help with any request. Fabulous stay and service.

We got a complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate our stay - and free bottles of wine throughout the stay. This was a very nice touch.

Very friendly staff the hotel was lovely and nothing was too much trouble really great time will be back next year thank you

Close to shopping

Very civilised almost old world. Grand is appropriate name. Staff were amazing as were facilities. A great place to stay.

Despite the large number of patrons it never seemed full. I worried that we wouldn’t get a bed by pool but that was fine. Swimming in the sea/ estuary was refreshing, proximity to town was fantastic, if hilly! Staff were lovely and efficient, breakfast was varied and delicious.

The customer service staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help. Great location.
