We had breakfast around nine and found the food was dried out. The venue and accommodation were outstanding

Nicely located among wineries, chocolate factory and restaurants.

For the price we paid for one night, I expected a little more in the way of comfort. The hot water continued to go cold then very hot. Stairs down to our room were slippery - I slipped twice. The in room lighting was poor. The complementary wine tasting was Ok but the gentleman running it was rude at times when asked a simple question - I confirmed the name of the wine we were tasting and the tone I received was very poor. Can’t say I will be back to this venue which is disappointing as this was a return stay.

Restuarant and dining options were amazing. However, the rooms and bathroom need a refresh. Bathroom ceiling stained and mouldy.

Quality of foods, taste and texture and presentation of restaurant meals was high end. Table service polite, attentative and polished.

Dining, Recreation Areas were excellent. Stairs to Lower units a little steep for older people.

Lovely modern rooms with excellent amenities, quiet area and magnificent view.

Wine tasting

Loved the accommodation, view from the balcony & the wine. Thought the food at the restaurant could be improved. choices were very limited for a large restaurant & the steak was tough to cut & eat. Overall, 4 out of 5 score.

Rooms need updating

I ran into car trouble on my way to Balgownie, which meant I was left stranded without a car to get home to Heathcote. The staff were so accommodating and kept my room open in case I needed to stay another night, which I did. Given my stressful circumstances, everyone at the property was just lovely and made it easy for me to work, relax and sort out my car troubles.

Balgownie had everything you needed for a relaxing time. The on site wine tasting, restaurant, spa, and pool was a great way to spend some time and relax.

Short stay, the room was comfortable and very clean.

I paid $500 for one night stay with Breakfast to be honest the property from the outside and the restaurant area looks amazing but the room we had was definitely not 5 star and neither was the breakfast. I ordered a bucket of ice from my room called reception they transferred me to the kitchen I left a message as nobody answered had to go there myself to pick it up. The staff in the restaurant were great ‘Sarah you are a Champion’ both coffee machines weren’t working properly the pancake machine was empty it was continually waiting for things to be rectified. I stay at the Langham and Grand Hyatt Melbourne I find them to be cheaper to stay I think if you are going to charge these high prices then give me 5 star service. Probably won’t go back to stay as I found the rooms below 5 star standard and please fix the noisy aircon outside the balcony on the bottom floor 106 as it’s terrible sitting outside on the balcony with the noise cutting in and out

We stayed in a one bedroom spa room and loved the comfortable king bed. Was reasonably clean but there were food crumbs on the bench of the kitchenette and spa looked like it needed a good scrub. We did a wine tasting and the lady was fantastic. She was the perfect person for the job - chatty, friendly and more importantly she was knowledgeable (and honest) about the wines so of course we bought some. Lovely location, hot air balloons early in the morning. Had a wedding on close by so this was a great place to stay. Overall we really enjoyed a few nights here.

Wow stunning views, amazing restaurant and friendly and helpful team. The food and wine ( as you would expect) were excellent, great choice. Our corner suite had 180 degree views across the valley. My only small criticism were the pool area felt a bit unloved and needed some tlc.

property is dated. inside of the room is a 3 star not 5 as claimed. rainwater tank with very loud pump was on all night making opening of the window ,impossible. air-condition is terrible . lucky the night temperature wasn't to hot. Breakfast was absolutely disgusting and should not be served. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

Great rooms, great property

Every thing at your fingertips and staff superb

Room was spacious but cleanliness was a concern as furniture was dusty and shower and toilet were dirty. Additionally, indoor pool was in average condition and area around the pool was quite dirty. Staff were excellent and very lovely in all our interactions.

3/5 stay overall. Pros: Good wine tasting experience. Room was comfortable. Cons: - Had lunch at the Grazer’s deck - quite average for the price we paid. - WiFi not working in the room. - Pool was small and dated.

Great property overall with a good cellar door and restaurant

The staff were absolutely amazing!!! Beautiful food.

Room is too basic. No artwork. No USB ports. Daily room service was terrible with messes, towels, tea, coffee not replaced. No shelves and drawers to unpack into. Had to go to reception frequently to get stuff sorted that should be standard hotel service. Light switches not working and not in logical places. I expected far more from a resort of this reputation.

Only issue when we returned from our function. All parking was gone and we had to park in a different area. Otherwise brilliant.
