PROS:
- Very good location. Steps away from the action and attractions and lots of dining and shopping. Faces the canal where all the boats ply.
Well designed, spacious and comfy rooms.
Staff (especially the front office girl named Nada goes above and beyond tomake you fell welcome not just to the hotel, but also to Aveiro. Nada went out of her way to help us with anything we asked for.
A short drive to the beach.
CONS:
Not easy to get parking. The hotel will direct you to the underground paid parking at the mall which is a 10 minutes walk . The hotel aranges for a parking pass for you which let's you go in and out of the parking lot several times. You pay for the parking at the hotel before check-out.
Breakfast is ok. Pretty basic Nothing to write home about.
Water is not drinkable, but the hotel staff help you get some filtered water.
The hotel's elevator takes only one person at a time. But you really don't need an elevator when on vacation.

Just minutes walking to the Moliceiros, shopping and walking along the canals. Also just 10 minutes to Costa Nova, a must to see. I named it candy cane lane

This property is the perfect location for a night or many nights in Aveiro. It’s close to the canal, restaurants, little shops and parking right behind the hotel in the parking square. The room was very clean, well appointed; it looked right over the canal!

All great - super room and breakfast - close to everything. Parked the rental no problem and took uber when we didn’t want to drive. Lovely city and hotel.

Our room was clean and tidy but small, and the bed was a very small double that was very uncomfortable. The bathroom had a good shower, bidet, toilet and facilities. I had to ask for the Expedia complimentary bottle of wine, which was not handed over graciously! Breakfast was good.

Major construction going on. Parking a few blocks away even though hotel had parking spots up front. HUGE NOISE ALL NIGHT from trash removal trucks, drunks, etc. Breakfast was okay, people were all very nice. No drinking water in room. Shower broken, front desk said sorry but that was it, no comp or refund.

Unfortunately there was construction going on next door but it did not affect our sleep.

Comfortable, modern room. Great air conditioning system (when it was hot outside). Nice private bathroom. Helpful staff. Clean property. One con: limited parking available; parking is offsite and not very convenient.

The staff was very helpful and welcoming. They were friendly and interested in our thoughts. After busy days… they supplied us with much needed waters!!! The breakfast offered was awesome. It had a variety of foods. We especially loved the orange juice machine!!!

Nice hotel in a great location. It was walkable to many attractions in Aveiro. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms, while quite small, were very clean. The breakfast was wonderful, too. We would stay again!

Wonderful decor, ambience and amenities at the Hotel Salinas. A short walk to a ton of restaurants and easy access to the guided boat tours. Breakfast was plentiful and the mineral water, pastries and chocolates in the room were a thoughtful addition.

The hotel is very centrally located in Aveiro - near the canals and downtown. It is clean and quiet - as described. Excellent buffet breakfast. This is not a luxury hotel but rather a lovely local hotel with all the comforts you need. Near plenty of restaurants. Less than a mile from the train station. Next to canals. Although there is construction downtown I didn’t hear any noise.

Thus hotel was perfect for us. It was in a great area by the canal where you could walk everywhere. The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was included and had a great variety including a coffee machine for espresso and steamed milk.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The location is perfect for exploring beautiful Aveiro! The gondola boats are very close and so are many shops and restaurants! We would definitely recommend this hotel.

It is a nice hotel, clean and modern. The hotel is right next to the old town with lots of restaurants within a few mins walking. The boat tour stops are a few steps away.

Really nice hotel in great locality - close to centre of Aveiro but not right in the middle. Clean and helpful. If you are driving, use Google to work out how to access the front if the hotel - not difficult when you understand but worth 5 minutes checking the one way options.
