The hotel and the staff was excellent on my 3 day stay. Beautiful park across the road was also very nice

I had a broken ankle at the time, and was unable to use the stairs. There was only one very small elevator, and I often had to wait 5+ minutes to use it, especially during breakfast rush. For a hotel of its size, and for such a high price, it seemed really inadequate. For anyone with mobility issues, be advised.

Very nice hotel w great atmosphere. Friendly service. Clean. Comfortable and nice room. Really well situated - short walking distance to most things. Good breakfast. NB if room towards the street/park: can be a bot noisy in the evening.

Good and friendly service - nicely restored building. However the use of the space is not always optimal. When booking a room ask to check where the windows (if any) from the room are if that is any of your interest when travelling. Images of room types don't quite match with reality.

Hotel is a little tired but it is old and unique. Very nice buffet breakfast. Super friendly staff and area was awesome.

We stayed one night over a weekend for a family trip to explore Oslo. We selected this hotel because of the excellent walking location to downtown landmarks and shopping. The included breakfast was incredible and the hotel staff’s service was top notch. Parking is a challenge - it’s not on-site and they do not have valet. You have to check in then drive to the nearest garage a few blocks away (cost $58 USD for 24 hours). Our room was nice but had some dysfunction. The bathroom has a step up that you could easily trip on in the middle of the night and there isn’t a counter to put toiletries upon. The reason for my 4 star review instead of 5 was the excessive nighttime noise from the adjacent nightclub. We were awakened by loud bass coming through the walls that lasted over 2 hours. From what I’ve read on other reviews, this is not an isolated incident and they have tried to mitigate sound as best as possible. One solution may be to provide disposable earplugs on the nightstand for guests like they do in downtown Nashville hotels.

We were immediately impressed by the lovely staff who greeted us and the impressive chandelier of musical instruments in the front lobby. The room was large and very comfortable. The dinner in the restaurant was toasty and the breakfast provided had so many choices. Bar tender was very friendly and qualified.

Great location within walking disdance of most attractions and good restaurants. Hotel was very nicely decorated and the room was a reasonable size for the price.

I've been staying in Oslo for years and glad I have finally discovered this fantastic hotel. The location is perfect and the building is elegant but what really makes it is the genuine warmth and friendliness of all the staff

Clean and staff was very courteous and helpful- good breakfast choices - excellent location - walking distance to the water - theater and restaurants.

Scaffolding outside window & along outdoor facade.. not mentioned when booked. Insufficient organizational possibilities in bathroom..eg. Shelf for placing cosmetics/toiletries..hook/s for hanging However, lovely setting for breakfast & very personable and helpful front desk staff!

HCT is very convenient and is not too large, so no sense of being lost at someone else’s convention. The beds are great, as are the showers; and the breakfast is easy to access and often uncrowded. It is an easy walk to many places and has convenient stops for trams, busses and the express train to the airport. Good restaurants are nearby.

Junior suite, 1nt, superbly comfortable bed, admitted to room early w/o charge, most helpful desk attendant. Minor gripes regarding no separation twixt bed area & sitting area (an issue if, e.g., after a long flight, one party has issues dealing w/jetlag and would like to avoid disturbing the other 😉), just 1x of beverages in minibar, only 2x coffee pods in room. However, not sufficient to prohibit us from rebooking for 2x nts prior to our return journey, will ensure the minibar & coffee pod gripes are addressed when we next check-in … if that happens we’re looking at 5’s across the board. 😉

Beautiful groovy decor, friendly helpful staff, great breakfast

The elevators were constantly down making the stay more challenging, especially with luggage. We had two rooms and one of them had zero view due to construction equipment. When you come to beautiful Oslo, you don’t want to be staring at construction equipment. The desk person was always fantastic and the location was purposely picked due to its close proximity to everything. I understand construction is needed from time to time but we were only there for 2 nights so it felt like a huge hassle.

Fantastic boutique hotel in the heart of Oslo

In 3 weeks travelling around Norway and Northern Europe, this was sadly the hotel we were most disappointed with. The location and breakfast were superb - but the room was pretty poor and tired. Also rather annoying paying 300kr per night for a dog (3 nights - 900 kroner), but only had the room cleaned once in that time and even then no hoovering.

This hotel is undergoing construction. While the lobby and the dining area are nice the hallways to the rooms are dusty and carpets don't look clean. The rooms have been redone to a neutral palette but seem lacking in the overall design. New sinks have faucets that spray out of the sink if you turn them on all the way. Overall I was disappointed with this hotel. I think you can do better in this price range in Oslo.

Location and customer service

Convenience of location, proximity to transport, the delightful staff all made our stay at the Christiana a lovely experience. Without aircon, the air blower positioned in our room was fine for our time there, mid June, but I feel it would struggle to keep the room cool in hotter weather.

Please do not stay in a room at the front of the hotel. The noise of the trams is disturbing.
