Check-in experience shortly after 4:00p, although automated by two machines, was very difficult. During check-in, my machine crashed after taking payment but before key cards were issued, and became unusable..
Although a support number was found outside, phone support had ended at 4:00p (check-in was 3:00p-6:00a). Since no one answered, I sent an email.
By trying a second machine, I finally obtained a key card at 4:45p.
After going out to dinner, I received a call that my key cards wouldn’t work upon return. I was asked to re-register and assured I would not be charged twice.
I WAS charged twice and ask that my second charge be refunded.
Our room was stifling hot all night with no fan or AC in the room, and windows would only partially open.
Luckily, the staff person added us for breakfast since we had prepaid for it.
A friend who was also checking-in with me submitted a review of our frustrations. And then received a very hostile email in reply blaming us for being 'aggressive' with the machines. As each of us are 35 year career computer engineers, we rebut the accusation.

Excellent location. Walking about 15 min on the same street to City Center. Quiet place. Very clean. The place had everything we needed for our trip, including kitchen utensils.
Everything we did was via machines and we did not meet a single person. It was a bit weird but everything worked out. The check-in machine on the right did not have the letter "D" so that was a problem.

I stayed two nights at the appartment hotel. It was easy to check-in through their computers. I needed my credit card to pay for a local tax.The appartment was cosy, the small kitchenette was very useful so I could prepare some food myself. The mattress was comfortable. It is about 10 minutes walk to the old town in Konstanz, which was very convenient. The only thing was that the red long hair carpet/rug was not the most clean one. When I mentioned it to the receptionist at check-out he told me that they are already planning to replace the carpets, so this issue should be solved in future.

While I'm not crazy about hotels with automated front desks, I really did like this place when I got inside. It's clean and up to date and on a quiet side street. It's also within walking distance of the historic downtown and Lake Constance.

Very functional and straightforward. Quiet and comfortable room in close vicinity to downtown Constanz. Great value. Check in and out is completely automated. Might not be an ideal for everyone.

We arrived late, but thanks to the self check in we had no problems! Our only problem was with the wifi, that only started working in the moring, when we were leaving. Besides that, the place is super comfortable and well located!

Remember to check in before parking your car into its garage (it is a self-served which require your room card in entering). The carpark is a bit hard to enter (given our car is 5meters long)

There was a wifi but it never worked during whole my 2 night 3 days stay. I've talked to the people in there but there were no response at all. The parking lot is always full then I have to find parking place by myself.

I suppose this is the future of mid-range hotels. The room was large, modern and with a balcony. (No filters for the coffee maker though!) Check-in was all done through an automatic kiosk; no human contact. In fact, except for checking out, when there was someone at the desk who called us a cab, we did not see another human being associated with the hotel in three days. I felt a little like the astronaut in 2001, a Space Odyssey, dealing with HAL. I imagine that younger guests might not feel as strange. It was a moderate walk from the Altstadt, but the actual neighborhood, although not unattractive, seemed pretty sterile.

Spacious, comfortable, well equipped with kitchenette and free internet terminal, quiet residential neighborhood near old town of Konstanz. Just don't expect any messages ever to be delivered to your room or wait on your phone. Also, no daily room cleaning, and everything is electronic, so you can check in without ever seeing a human being,
