This hotel is overall, a very good hotel. The rooms are very nice, maybe a little small, but very clean and a very native Norwegian Forest look. The breakfast was average, but the best thing about this hotel was the staff. They were so helpful with us planning our days, they even gave us a quick tour of the area. I will choose to stay in this hotel again when I go to Oslo next time.

Good for relaxing for nature lovers and off course in winter for ski lovers..

The view was amazing & they made two special meals to accommodate our special dinning needs. The food was as good as the view.

This is a really great hotel.

Beautiful, top design, interesting with a brewery and gardens, and even if there were many group trips, the accomodation was quiet, with views over the valley. The new wing, with terrace was exquisite and quiet. Food is also very beautiful but way overpriced and with extremely little portions. ON the continent 'nouvelle cuisine' meaning 'pretty but petite' is no longer in the mode. With Norwegian prices, having to get full thanks to the bread is actually not so fun- and there is no pizzeria in the neighborhood. Since we know it is the labor cost and not the food cost that drives prices up, a few more pieces of asparagus or makrel would be welcome for people who drove 9 hours to get there.

It was in an interesting spot (near the 1952 Winter Olympics area). A lot awkward steps. Overall it was nice, clean, and breakfast was good.

Nice hotel with beautiful views across Oslo. Only downside is a little far from the main city but you get beautiful views in return.

This hotel was utterly amazing!! We arrived on the last day the hotel was open for the season but you would never have known it based on the high level of customer service that we received!! We arrived late afternoon and the concierge/front desk person was incredibly friendly and personable!! He asked if we would like reservations for the restaurant but we had planned on heading into the city. He suggested that we go get situated in our room which they had upgraded to a junior suite and then come back to the front desk for some tips about the city. He spent 30 minutes with us helping us find local spots to eat at and to sightsee!!! He was just amazing! We plan on returning to this hotel at our first opportunity!! All the staff members were very friendly and the atmosphere was just incomparable!! Everything was perfect!! But the concierge/front desk person was just the cherry on top!! Thank you Kit for making our stay one we will never forget!!

Nice hotel - room quite basic, small bathroom, no fridge, no view.

The staff were nice and friendly, and the food was great. But, the room we stayed in was not as clean as I expected. It was smelly and I had to ask for an air freshener to spray around. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Location is awesome with chalets style hotels close to forest, ski slopes and the Holmenkollen ski site. Decoration was good. We could not get two single beds in the room instead of a double although we paid a lot for the stay. The restaurant menu (gourmet menu) did not fit very well in our case since the portion are quiet small (for people like us who were exercising during the day, you are damn hungry at the end of the end and you dont want to pay a 7 course menu).

Stayed in the Hojden side, the newer construction. The building and room were beautiful, great view from our balcony. The property was quiet. Great staff. A wonderful experience, would definitely return.

We have been looking for a quite and cozy hotel in Oslo area and were so lucky to have found Lysebu. Located in the forrest with stunning view over the bay. 110 percent satisfied.

Our stay at the Lysebu Hotel was nothing short of wonderful! The hotel is located about 30 mins outside of Oslo (short and cheap tram ride), but its location in the foothills of northern Oslo really allowed us to experience both the city culture and enjoy the opportunity to take in the nature of Norway. There are multiple hiking trails that begin on the doorstep of the hotel. The hotel facilities (pool, sauna, bar/lounge) combined with its historical significance make it a unique stay off the usual tourist-beaten track. In addition, the hotel has the best customer service my wife and I have experienced from a European hotel in awhile. Kit and other colleagues went well out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay even without request from us, providing us with several helpful suggestions for our future travel plans. Dont be discouraged from booking this hotel due to its seemingly detached location! Its well worth the time and money saved to stay in this relaxing hotel just outside of Oslo!
