Unit was on a bizarre tilt, doors didn't stay closed or open, shower so small couldn't even fit in. If i had stayed i would have rolled right out of the bed. They did offer me another caboose, but by then i was so annoyed i just left. of course they didn't refund my stay even though we were only there a few minutes. If you have a better unit and the place is empty, why put us in the worst one at the start? newly updated? what, paint?. units are still worn and need renovations, not just a quick coat of paint. There are so many options in the area, just go elsewhre

The lodging was fun. Not conducive for hanging out as a family. But, they have a restaurant that is so convenient, fun and delightful. Their animal farm was fun too.

It was a fun experience. However there are some things you should know. The bathroom that includes the shower and toilet are smaller than some closets. It is very difficult to dress in the small space, so if you have family members, it is either that or there is no privacy for dressing. The bunk beds are not made for adults. They are mattresses on a wood surface and short. Was it a fun stay? yes, just because of the experience. Was it comfortable? no. I'm glad we did it, but would not do again with a family.

As train enthusiasts, we really enjoyed our stay at the Red Caboose Motel. Great location in the country with easy access to Railroad Museum of PA and the National Toy Train Museum, spending the night in a caboose just added to the fun. The views were amazing and the Casey Jones Restaurant located on-site made for a perfect stay.

Wonderful people, they waited for us to arrive a little late. The motel is such a novelty to stay in a train caboose and have so many things to do regarding trains in the area. Definitely coming back!

we enjoy staying at the quirky and/or historical places which this certainly was. It was only a couple miles to Sight and Sound Theatre and about 1/2 mile from the Strasburg RR. Restaurant on site was convenient.

Fun little place for the family. Sleeping in a caboose was great for them. Dont expect 4 star accommodations and it will be fun.

Very fun stay! Creative and memorable. It was nice to have options on location like the restaurant, Amish biggie rides and petting zoo. The interior of the room is dated. We would recommend due to the unique stay but the accommodations could be rough for some people.

Did a father trip to hang out with some trains. Place over all is amazing. Fun to stay in a caboose. The restaurant food is sooo worth it. And they have a large gift shop. Central located to many attractions. Only thing is some of the caboose’s exteriors need some paint etc. but the interior of ours was well up-kept. Planning a return trip in the spring.

It was. Dry basic but clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a posh, high end accommodation this is probably not for you. Very basic but the perfect “different” novel stay. Beds were comfortable. Just needed a bit of storage in the bathroom. The dining car was very accommodating and the food good.

Good stay. The caboose was actually very spacious with lots of places to stick suitcases. More hooks would be nice and a detachable shower head would also be nice. One of the beds was decently comfortable but the other was pretty bad. Would stay again.

This was the most unique motel in which I have ever stayed. It was an old caboose converted to a motel room. We were away from others, so there was no noise.

I have wanted to stay at the Rick Bush motel for a very, very long time because of the caboose itself. I thought they did a great job at making all modern amenities available in such a small space. The theme was what’s most important to me.

Very different and unique than your everyday motel or hotel. Train theme was neat. Food in the dining car was actually very good. Surrounding area was peaceful, very country feel. We enjoyed it.

What an affordable, unique and peaceful place this was. The perfect location for a quick getaway from life. Highly recommend and the diner was delicious and they have a petting zoo onsite

Unique experience - Very cool hotel. I recommend it for the experience, for all ages as long as the person can climb in the caboose. The property has a free petting zoo, buggy rides for a fee, a little shop and arcade. The restaurant is very nice as well. Many places to drive around.

Not anywhere near as represented on the internet while booking. I was in a double double caboose and there wasn’t anywhere to put your clothing and only a half folded kitchen table. No outside sitting tables except for one spot in the park. I stayed here about 9 years ago and everything was kept up better.

They are obviously doing a lot of updates and the property is beautiful. We stayed in a caboose that likely hadn’t been updated but still clean and quiet. Just a unique experience that I would definitely do again. Staff was super friendly. Petting zoo was cute for kids. Wished we could have seen what the barn was like. It was absolutely gorgeous on the outside! The family has done a lot of great things to make it a great place to stay. Would definitely stay again!

I had read that some have complained about the exterior of the caboose cars. I have to say, it adds to the allure and the reality is the inside where one sleeps is what needs to be clean and up to date. And the interiors were excellent! We loved our stay!
