Excellent rooms - very clean tidy, well equipped and centrally located within the CBD. Great value for money.

We loved the location we wanted to walk to eateries and brewery. The room was very spacious , towels and linen good quality and very nicely furnished . Stress free book in , we will be back.

While the room was lovely, the mattress was exceptionally uncomfortable. The worst part of it all, however, was the appalling noise from the bar across the road - noise that the accommodation was aware of and did not warn us about. While we received an apology the next morning from the manager, we were also left feeling that we were to blame for not contacting them during the night to let them know. I will certainly be telling anyone looking for accommodation in Burnie that the Ikon hotel is not the best place to stay.

Easy to locate, very friendly helpful staff, big rooms tall ceilings kitchenette and modern Lge bathroom. Felt right at home was one of our best acc experiences in Tassy. Top location in town also came with the unavoidable weekend street noise and distant hoons.

Greeted by friendly staff who made you feel extremely welcome. Very nice room, spacious and comfortable.

The property is a beautiful heritage building that has retained it's charm. The room was large and the spa was welcome after the travel. As with many heritage buildings, the access was via a couple of staircases with no lift access.

Renovation of a heratige property yielded unique spaces. Very high ceilings, our room had a hugh mirror. Shower and bathroom facilities very modern.

My 4th stay in 8 weeks (2 month work contract on the West Coast). Great location to bus interchange on Cattley St & Tassielink bus stop on Mount St. Mecca restaurant is on ground floor, gorgeous rooms are on 1st & 2nd floors, access by stairs. Owner Steve is very helpful with luggage, said to ask bottleshop staff to assist with luggage up & down stairs also. Laura (reception) is an absolute delight, greets you every stay, provides access cards to room & building, happy to give me earlier check in (lunchtime) & late check out. Stayed in Rooms 6 (corner room with partial view of the sea), 7 & 9 (on Mount St) & 11 (back of hotel, quieter room). My 4 rooms were on the 1st floor. All rooms are beautifully fitted out with comfy beds (memory foam mattresses), plump pillows, complimentary bathrobes to use during your stay, heater, fan (no aircon as the Ikon is heritage listed, but rooms have plenty of windows to catch the sea breeze). Well stocked mini bar at reasonable prices, generously stocked complimentary continental breakfast items, orange juice, cereals, yoghurts, milk, plus teas, coffees, hot choc, sugar, stevia, toaster & kettle, microwave, crockery & cutlery. Rooms have modern, large ensuites, some with double showers (6 & 7), or shower over spa bath (9), or single spacious shower (11) with lovely Manuka honey bathroom products (smells good enough to eat but not edible). Every stay was amazing, the 'Ikon' is my 'go to' when staying at Burnie, Tasmania. Sincere thanks!

Getting in was a bit of a challenge as it was Sunday afternoon, the hotel was shut and the manager was away for the weekend. Owner (and very busy business man) Steve responded to my call, and all was soon settled. Our luxury King room was huge (with the world's biggest mirror), had great views and excellent appointments, only a stove top / hotplates being missing, The bathroom was also luxurious, and for the price, the Ikon was excellent value !

Large well furnished room. Little extras included paper in the morning at the door. Bed was comfortable and warm. High ceilings and large mirror. Access stairs are steep at back so be careful

The Ikon is the best place to stay for business travellers to Burnie. The rooms are huge, the decor is stylish, the beds are enormous and best of all, you can't hear the traffic from the highway. The only downfall is the 2-star bar fridge, which has an annoyingly loud hum.

The room was enormous, it was very quiet and clean in a great location! The lady at check in was super friendly and helpful. When booking I knew there was no lift and just stairs but advice is travel light when going to this hotel :) The entrance is a bit smelly (oil) due to the restaurant below but once through the hotel door, no worries. A recommendation that has been provided to the hotel is they need Aircon! It was only 20degrees when we stayed there and it was stinking hot and stuffy! They have 2 fans but it doesn't do much! All in all I would say it's a great place to stay.

I was driving from Launcestion and I was called to check when I would be arriving, they were polite and helpful. Good food choices nearby Go visit Burnie, its a nice place.

It is fabulous room above a pub, the room in itself was amazing. However no lift only stairs, no air-conditioning in the rooms lot of noise if one keeps the windows open and the mattress wasn't firm which led to poor sleep. The owner was very warm and welcoming even helped with the bags.
