Absolutely love our 10 day stay at hotel alcaide. Staff where so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing and cleanliness was very good. The only downside was the lack of a fridge in the room but given the opportunity to keep a bottle of wine in the bar cooler and ice was readily available when we needed it.

lovely little hotel, spotlessly clean with helpful staff, close to lovely beach

The grounds and pool were lovely. However, the rooms were incredibly basic - no hairdryer, fridge, kettle etc. Also, they only appeared to make up the bed and replace towels when they cleaned the room as the bathroom was still quite dirty.

Great and personal service, and newly renovated rooms. Can absolutely recommend this hotel!

Arrived early and staff stored bags, directed us for short walk to beach and 45 minutes later room was ready. Staff English is very good.

Nice property & pool

We have stayed in few hotels in Algarve including five stars establishments and on comparison Alcaide rates really well!Its biggest attribute is the staff. Very accommodating and showing very high standard of customer service, always smile on their faces. Location: Praia de Vau is only few minutes walk away and Praia da Rocha with the main strip of restaurants about 20 minutes. The neighbourhood is Portuguese with little tourists and the snack bar nearby Costa serves amazing cocktails with plenty of locals that go there. The area is very quiet and safe. Facilities: the main plus is the pool if you dont fancy going to the beach. Our main complaint would be additional charges for the fridge and the safe. That should be included in the room rate.Overall we had a very enjoyable stay!

Perfect start in the day with a big breakfast, possibilites to relax at the pool and only a few minutes to walk to the beach!

Dated property, buy very comfortable. Great swimming pool and located 5 minutes walking from a beautiful beach and lots of restaurants. Lack of elevator and not enough parking take out some of its points.

lovely hotel with palm tree lined entrance , staff were all polite and helpfull especially Claudia who helped with tranfers and boarding pass requirements with a smile, the complementary breakfast is more than adequate and set in a lovely breakfast room that leads onto the pool terrace if you wish to enjoy alfresco. The pool is immaculate and rooms large enough, 5 minutes from beach cove and a few restaurants , 15/20 min stroll along coastal track to Praia rocha if you seek lively strip of shops bars and restaurants , 5 euro by taxi.

The dated decor could have passed as rustic or traditional if things like the built in radio actually worked, however it seemed instead to be outdated and in need of some tlc. The breakfast is basic European style, but youll have to get there early as the food runs out fairly fast and isnt replaced. This was part of a three leg journey and we found much better accommodation for the same price elsewhere, including Madrid. The saving graces of this hotel was its immaculate cleanliness and its picturesque pool.
