Made an error when booking so instead of the cottage we got a room ( my fault so we took a room in the annex bldg). Opened the door to nasty musty smell in the small room. Gross, to the point we sprayed cologne and kept the door open. When we got back to the room later, so damp in there the carpet actually felt wet it was so damp. Got it to bed, sheets felt wet too . Uncomfortable to sleep. No venting in the bathroom so showering fogged the whole area up. No outlets in the bathroom either! All in all the room served its purpose in that we slept there, but would not go back. Outdated and smelly. My overnight bag smelled musty too, had to wash everything when we got home. Yuck!

Decent stay for the price, clean rooms and great location. Will stay again

Seems like the place is aging a bit. I stayed in a separate building so my experience may be different than yours if you stay in the main building or the chalet. Breakfast is a kind gesture, nothing looked really good. Maybe avoid breakfast and invest that money into the property

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Needs updating and has no microwave to warm up your food. Overall it was pretty clean and a decent place stay. This was a work trip so I didn't need anything too fancy. Overall a decent place to stay.

The property could be amazing if it were taken care of. It is in the perfect location. I suggested to the manage that he spend one night in each room and he would see the issues. The toilet leaked because it was loose from the floor. the sink splattered everywhere because missing the end of the faucet. the light for the bathroom is difficult to find because it is behind the door. the tub had hair in it that was there when we arrived. the bedroom and bathroom had spider webs on the walls. The mattress was OK but will need to be replaced soon. It looks charming from the outside, just needs a little fixing to be great.

Friendly host. The hotel is a bit dated, but room was spacious and clean. The location is very good. The host is very helpful and friendly. Will definitely consider for next trip.

Room was very clean and bed was comfy. There was a problem with the front door to the room as it didn't fit the frame so there was a half inch crack around the door and the dead bolt was inoperable. As it was a warm weekend this didn't pose a temperature problem, but definitely would in cold weather. Also, fortunately it was in a neighborhood that felt safe enough that the dead bolt wasn't a huge problem as the door did have the regular lock that worked. It would be nice to have a couple of towel racks in the bathroom as there was no place to hang anything in there.

This is based on staying in the main building in the two bedroom; I can't speak for the other options for rooms. The good things: easy to find, walking distance to town, pool was decent and there are chairs to sit in by it. Things to be aware of: a/c was only in one room so the other room was very hot and they didn't have a fan to use (bring a fan if you stay in this room), and they also didn't turn on the a/c in anticipation of our arrival so it took a long time to cool down on this very hot day. The breakfast is very basic- bread, wrapped muffins, apples and yogurt. There's coffee and tea bags but it's hard to get hot water out. There are stairs only to the second floor, and if you do have the breakfast you'll have to go down stairs. The facility is very dated and run down. It was clean enough though. There is a mini fridge but no microwave. Towels were soft. They advertised a fire pit but we did not see one, it appears it was taken down. I would give it 2.5 stars. It was fine, but not good. For the price we were content.

We had a room in the Jefferson and it was fine. It was very clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. The toilet felt really close to the wall but otherwise everything was great. Not super updated but also not super outdated.

Checked in, got our keys, went up to the room and used the bathroom, decided to wait to bring our belongings in until after dinner (turns out this was a very smart choice) Went out for dinner for a couple of hours, came back to find out our room keys wouldn’t work this time. The guy at the service desk came up with a new one to try, that worked however when the door swung open there were other people in OUR ROOM. He made it seem like it was somehow our fault that he booked someone into our room after already being assigned it with that room number hand written by him on the keys themselves. There was then a scramble to find us a room, it almost didn’t happen all while insinuating that we did something wrong followed by “apparently thats my fault, I wouldn’t have put someone in an occupied room, are you sure you checked in?” “What time?” “You didn’t stay in the room?” “And I gave you keys for that room, are you sure?” all while he’s looking right at my receipt, and he’s the only one there working so it could only have been him who checked us in. We were then provided a room in a different building with only one bed, the bathroom wasn’t completely cleaned, the curtain wouldn’t slide all the way over so you could see inside the room, and a HUGE gap at the bottom of the door. If we didn’t have a few drinks at dinner we would have left and drove home but we had no choice. The door to get into this separate building wasn’t kept locked, so anyone off the street could walk in.

Edelweiss is very economical. The rooms are ok. Hard to say anything bad, because the rates of rooms at hotels seem to be off the charts, Edelweiss is very reasonable. Everything is a bit dated, limited channels with less than great reception on the tv. However, the value is great, and it’s my go to every time I travel to Ellicotville. Great location.

Property updated with cheapest possible quality. Water pressure very weak, hot and cold temp varied a lot during each shower. Hair dryer was faulty with only one speed selection that worked. Bed was comfortable but upon entering the room, there was an odor that dissipated as the air conditioner cooled the room. Gravel parking lot not motorcycle friendly. They showed their A Frame rooms on the website, but the property is a jumble of 5 or 6 "lodges" scattered around with no order. The best part about this accommodation was the walking distance to the great shops downtown 3 blocks away.

Parking was awful. Bath tub drain was terrible. Water didnt go down .

The manager was very friendly and accommodating. The first room (202) he tried to check me into reeked of cigarette smoke and the A/C was broken. The 2nd room (509) had not been cleaned or vacuumed. The bathroom and carpet were dirty and the bathroom door handle was coming apart. The property is very quaint and the staff is friendly, it just needs a deep clean.

The property is a collection of buildings. Some have been kept up better than others. Bedding was excellent, extremely clean. The carpet was older and smelled like it. The king bed took up so much of the room it felt a bit crowded. I could not have asked for a more convenient location to the town’s best features.

I'm rating it Average because I had two very different experiences there. The first stay was about a month ago, we had a very nice room in the main lodge ...everything worked...bathroom was nice. We stayed there again last night, were given a room in one of the other buildings on the property. There were several things about the room that were not great, but the worst was the bathroom sink faucet...almost no water came out when it was turned on full force..it was like a trickle...hard to rinse soap off our hands and toothbrushes...and the showerhead was in bad shape too with little more than a trickle and no way to adjust the flow. It seemed apparent that whomever installed the fixtures didn't know what they were doing. So I guess your experience there will depend on which room you get... we're not willing to do that crapshoot again. I did report it to the person at the desk as we left and he said he'd take a look at it.

This is our third year staying here. Its not fancy but its relaxing. Close to everything so you dont have to drive. Already booked our stay for next year.

The pool was closed. The town made them get rid of the fire pit. The rooms need major upgrades! The smallest fridges ever. Landscaping needs a lot of help.

We needed accommodations for one night that was nearby a concert we were attending. We got an amazing price from Hotels.com for the hotel 10 minutes away from our venue, check in was so easy and the clerk so friendly. Our room was very nice, very clean. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
