Yes it is dated and it is a motel. But it is in a great location, you can park your car outside your room, check in service was excellent and it is very clean. Easy walk to restaurants and cool cocktail bars. Value for money..save your money for the excellent dining within 8 minute walk!

It’s a little “Schitts Creek-ish”, clean & safe, but dark/dated furnishing/decor. With the new SantaFe facility opening, I imagine the neighborhood will improve. walked to great restaurants , but not alone nor after dark. Soon this place will be updated & twice the room rate.

I can’t stay there just 30 minutes!

This place was pretty run down. Other people were putting on great ratings and those were the main reason for booking here. The AC unit was extremely noisy, the toilet seat lid broke, and the shower curtain rod fell off. The bed was ok and there weren't any bugs. It wasn't worth the $120 a night they were charging.

The property is ok for the price.

A good deal for the price, very centrally located, and bus lines close by.

Enjoyed the stay again, as we like staying here when visiting the university. We miss the owner who retired. She is wonderful lady. Hope she is doing well.

The rooms were fairly clean. The air conditioners in both rooms didn't operate properly. One room had a a/c remote but it was hard to regulate the temperature with it. The other room didn't have a remote. Upon checking out I mentioned it to the front desk and he said that he was aware of the issue 😳

The place was very convenient for exploring downtown. Staff was friendly but bathroom door was deteriorating and was hard to shut and open.

The street it was on was extremely noisy till late, and again early in the morning. If you must stay here, ask for a room towards the back of the property, although I doubt they will fulfill your request. They have no interest in helping people or any show of customer service. One definitely gets the impression that they just want your money- warm bodies in a bed, for lack of a better term. I believe I got a bug bite there as well. I arrived at 2am, as I got delayed in Tampa and unfortunately had pre-booked the room. The night clerk would not give me a late check out, not even 11:30am. (Even Motel 6 will let you stay till 11:30am if you ask nicely). Then when I was not fully rested in the morning, I saw him again as I was leaving, and I told him that I would've appreciate a little kindness in regards to the checkout time. He told me that they were fully booked for the night to come, so no one could check out late. Of course, that was a lie, because when I talked to the maid (who was waiting to clean my room), she said it was her last one. Listen, do yourself a favor, if you can afford it, pay an extra $40-50 and stay in a proper hotel, not a "lodge" which is really just a cheap, fleabag motel. Oh and there's a massive cell tower looming above the place.

Outdated, but comfortable. Safe location. Not a lot of traffic. Walking distance for coffee and food.

This was a late last minute check in. I just needed a "nice clean bed to rest" and get a good nights sleep, then leave early the next morn. Mission accomplished. But the room otherwise, was old and dingy imo. The AC unit was loud, but didn't bother me as much. The tiny shower had hot water and was serviceable. I did NOT like that bathroom mirror, which I could swear I saw a light flash through its reflection! Wth!? So I covered it with a bath towel.. For the price, I got my rested sleep at least. One and done here!

The air conditioner was not working properly. The sheets, quilts, and towels looks old .

It was clean

60s motel that’s been renovated. I especially liked the heated floor in the bathroom. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable, but could have had another pillow or 2. Empty buildings in the neighborhood, but I felt perfectly safe here. Front desk guy could be a little friendlier, but the morning housekeeping gal was as friendly and happy as a Disney character.

This used to be a TravelLodge. They’ve renovated. It is basic, clean, and I love being able to leave the car and walk to dinner. Many casual and upscale restaurants nearby. Looks like nightlife as well, but due to work hours, I couldn’t partake.

Simple digs, clean, well located for walking to restaurants. It is perfect for work travel.

Room smelled like someone had been smoking in it for months without opening any windows or doors. Bedspread had burn marks, A/C unit had thick buildup and had not been cleaned in a long time.

Just returned from our second stay. Will be back! Old Travel Lodge meticulously maintained. Multiple families working cooperatively. Frequent smiles and kindness from owners and staff. Kids laughing, having fun and being good to each other. Love it!

Property is located in a walking distance to downtown Gainesville. It was very quiet. We stayed for two nights and slept like babies. The staff cleaned the room on the daily basis. The room was basic, with refrigerator, microwave, WIFI and bathroom. The ice machine was outside and could get the bucket filled in a very short distance near the office. There was no coffee or breakfast over there but we could find local restaurants near by. When evaluated with overall aspects, including cost of stay, we gave this motel a thumb up. We will stay here again next year when visiting Gainesville.

Very accommodating staff was nice and helpful

Super dirty place. Location is excellent in terms of walking distance to all the night life. But this is a really dirty place. Cockroaches. The toilet is clogged. The AC is super loud. I understand this is a budget motel. But we just want standard clearness. Towel and bedsheets are old. Shower water pressure is low. This is a place for you get drunk and pass out. But it is not comfortable stay. I woild suggest the owner really do cleaning to this place.
