Very cozy and just like in a 18th. century place. The room was excellent and the breakfast is super, just like ordering at the restaurant. There is ad libitum wine from 5pm. but no problem with the owner if you want to start early. Very accommodating and helpful,

This is what a B&B is supposed to be. The place is charming and historic. The breakfast was amazing. I recommend you stay a few days because every morning is different. The owner Carl is a gentleman and makes you feel at home. This was definitely one of the best places I have ever stayed! My favorite thing was the garden area where we dined and all the trumpet vines pouring over the fence and waking up to the smell of something delicious cooking.

My stay at the Capitol Hill B&B was amazing. The hotel is located in a historical building built in 1891. I stayed in a flower room with a Jacuzzi. Delicious breakfast was served at the garden. Carl, I think he is the owner, was very friendly and very helpful. This is the place you must stay at least one in your lifetime. Thank you, Carl, for taking care of me, Nataliya

This gorgeous mansion is a treat on our trip moving from IL to AZ. We visited Denver many years ago and I promised myself we’d be back and stay at Capital Hill Mansion. A dream come true! And it’s my birthday, so I couldn’t ask for more.

Capital Hill Mansion has an excellent location, a walk from many top sightseeing destinations and from a lovely park. My room was bright, spacious and well-appointed. Service was excellent.

The property is lovely . Our room was spacious with old-world charm yet a modern shower . Loved rocking on the front porch . For us, the biggest surprise was the secret garden out back , where we were served delicious gourmet breakfasts . Carl is a gracious host and has thought of everything to make you feel comfortable. This is our new home away while visiting our daughter in Denver.

Staff was there to meet us and always helpful with luggage both on arrival and departure. Very much, enjoyed our breakfast and the courteous service that our waiter provided.

Overall, I did like my stay at Capitol Hill Mansion B&B. The breakfast was amazing and the room was very nice. However, if I were to stay there again, I would request a different room. The staff would talk loudly in the morning outside our room at 4:30AM which prevented us from getting a good night's sleep. We stayed in the Blue Bell room. I think any other room would have been fine.

The B&B is in a lovely building and has a fun patio breakfast. The breakfast was our favorite part of the stay. We were on the third floor and it was a steep climb. Bed was comfortable. Our bathroom didn’t have a conventional shower so we bathed under the faucet one day and went to a friend’s house another. The tea kettle in our room didn’t work. We notified the owner twice and his response was to tell us that it did. Overall, it was a beautiful inn in a nice neighborhood and was a fun experience but we’ll probably go with a conventional hotel next time.

Fantastic historic mansion, with beautiful and spacious rooms and great gourmet breakfast. Optimal location in a beautiful neighborohood and near a bus stop. Really symphatetic host who graciously accomodated my necessities. Highly, highly reccomended!

Very welcoming and comfortable B&B. Refreshing to have an authentic feel versus just a rental home. Staff were friendly, accommodating and respectful of privacy. An absolute must stay again next time we are in Denver.

What a wonderful place to stay! The owner and staff are so friendly and thoughtful, the rooms so tastefully done, breakfast in the Garden was just the best!!! Having read the reviews I expected it would be pleasant - but it was just delightfully perfect! Great location in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful homes and local dining / pubs / coffee shops. Side note: once you are there the question that comes to mind is 'what's the history of this place' and in the binder of information in each room is several pages of the long and colorful history of the mansion...pretty fascinating!

It was a great experience

Quirky with a capitol Q! The outside looks like a nice old Victorian mansion. The inside is like your great grandmothers, with green carpeting and old furniture. AC did not work well, lucky to have fan in room. Bed comfortable. Shower head trickled water. Carl said he asked if I wanted him to change out the shower head and that I said it was ok.in fact, someone knocked at 5 pm when I was getting ready for dinner and said “housekeeping “- I said we r ok, because beds had already been made. After being out all day and coming back to inn at 11pm exhausted and thirsty, heard owner in kitchen, and asked if he had xtra water. The ensuing conversation was laughable as he insisted there were water bottles in my room. I told him we drank them earlier. He didn’t accept that. Then said they allot 2 water bottles per room /day. So I told him I would pay if he could get me a bottle. He reluctantly gave me one, and as I turned, uttered “jeez” under his breath. Breakfast- only offer one item. First morning- pancakes. I don’t particularly like pancakes and just had the fruit, which was good. He then said he always asked about “dietary restrictions “ and I should have said something. Mayb he doesn’t understate difference between restriction and preference. Having a choice would b nice. Cory was kind to make me scrambled eggs. owner was nice to have coffee ready for early risers, but beyond that , not very hospitable. For the price, I will stay elsewhere in future.

The B&B was delightful. I spent a fabulous weekend there. We were able to walk to restaurants. Morning breakfast was delicious and the presentation was like a piece of art. Afternoon wine with the other guests provided us with the opportunity to share ideas of things to do.

Beautiful home. Living in history. Our room had a private balcony that we loved. Room was on the 3rd floor so lots of stairs. Incredible breakfast. Best of our whole vacation! We had to miss breakfast the 2nd morning to catch our flight. We had to leave at 7:15 and breakfast did not start until 7:30. It smelled so good though…

Beautiful property and great breakfasts

Not to get into specifics because I truly want you to experience it for yourself. But my wife and I had an amazing stay at Capitol Hill Mansion. From the scenery, to the view, to the breakfast & the amazing staff and owner Carl. We will definitely be back.

I picked the place based on the location. I wanted to be walkable to many venues downtown. The mansion did not let me down. We were 5 blocks from the museums one direction. And 5 blocks from fabulous restaurants in the other. Carl's breakfasts were gourmet, and the french press coffee was a great way to wake up.

Lovely property with wonderful access to many of the highlights in downtown Denver. We loved the beautiful ambience of the antique home and furnishings. The owner was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious!!
