The room was clean but definitely needed to be updated.The bed was comfortable. Needed more furniture in room and added storage shelves in bathroom. Would not recommend it.

The Boxwood staff was amazingly friendly and extremely helpful. I was able to add on an extra day without any issues. All the staff I encountered were very nice. The room was clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay again when I come back this way.

Boxwood Lodge was a comfortable and quiet stay, with easy walking access to downtown Blowing Rock, which was our main interest. The rocking chairs on the porch were great for enjoying the nice weather. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The room and bathroom were in need of updating. We travel to Blowing Rock twice a year, and I will be sure to never stay here again

Very friendly and helpful staff. I checked in and my smoke detector was beeping. He replaced battery right away. He stuck around awhile to make sure all ok. Still had issues and ended up having to replace the detector. Everything else was great. Great location. Close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Comfortable bed. My room faced the road but was not noisy.

This property was "Okay". I did not feel it was worth the money we paid for it. Advertising showed a different picture than what we got when we got there. Thanks Expedia but probably not again.

Air in the room was not very efficient. And no room service or cleaning was done on a 3 day stay had to go to the office to get towels and other needs

We stayed in a double queen room at Boxwood Lodge. Upon arrival staff was friendly and helpful. First room TV wasn’t working properly, changed room for us. Room was spacious and looked like it was somewhat updated, beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. Bathroom is in need of some updating. Worked fine but needs a facelift. Grounds are satisfactory. Only problem was we were on the first floor of the two story queen building. People in room above were very noisy until 1am.

Very good experience. Not as nice a room as we expected from the photos, but reasonable for the price and location. The hotel probably has nicer rooms, I think we were in one of its least expensive rooms. Older hotel but clean room, good amenities, good-sized bathroom. King bed was very comfortable. Refrigerator was noisy briefly once in a while. The only chair in the room was not comfortable for long sitting. Two rockers per room on covered walkway between rooms are a nice touch, although there’s not much to look at, mostly parking lot — that seemed to be true of most of the hotels in the historic area. Comfortable shared covered deck area off the main office, room for a medium sized party. Easy walk on sidewalk to the shopping district, restaurants, and a lovely kid-friendly city park with plenty of benches. We really enjoyed the park. I would not choose this hotel for a romantic getaway, but it was a nice room for staying while visiting the area. We plan to go again.

We stayed one night. When we asked for an extra blanket and were told no but then they said they would give us one the next day..? The floors were very dirty and there was no carpeting on the tile floor by the shower, so it was very slippery when getting out. My 77 year old mother was terrified she was going to fall and hurt herself. Our room had rocking chairs out front with a view of an old wooden fence that was 6 foot tall and couldn’t see anything but the fence…
