Resort was nice looking in lobby , once you get to room, not well taken care of toilet seats werent the proper size absolutely filled with mosquitos, beds were missing legs. The food was awful except for the jerk chicken stand by the pool. The crew and staff were helpful and nice but i can only assume that other resorts were much better maintained and cared for. We spent most of our time at the hard rock hotel because we werent able to fully enjoy ourselves at Riu Republica. I would not be visiting again or referring anyone.

Our stay was a week. The noise level was unacceptable at all hours of the night. The air conditioning worked but didn’t work well. We had mold in our bathroom above the door and around it from the humidity I assume. Room service did a great job cleaning the general area and making the beds, but the mold was always there.

Despite some bad reviews I've seen, I found the resort to be a lot of fun, super big and has a lot of entertainment. There is also food for all tastes and quite a variety, the employees in all areas are very friendly and especially those in the buffet area La Altagracia and the Jerk Chicken that is near the beach is the best I have tried in years.

Amazing staff, property needs more lights on the 288 rooms by the beach. Its to dark. And defenely some more channel options more upgraded version or the option to add your own netflix account. Not everyone parties all day.also they defenely need a second club. Pacha is good however to small. And another store on the side of the property would help.

Liked: The location to the beach, pools, food choices, friendly staff. Dislikes: Staff didn't speak much English, the resort and room were outdated, no wash clothes in rooms, slow response from front desk to solve problems, not enough outlets in room to charge phone, watches, never stock in room fridge or liquor, chairs on balcony were tore, beach vendors didn't give prices and are too pushy, after check out waiting in lobby for ride to airport the lawn was being mowed blowing grass all over people waiting and then driving lawn mower through lobby.

Let's just say I had booked a Xmas trip to Gambia to stay in the RIU hotel resort there, and I have just cancelled the hotel part of the trip, due to this experience staying here at DR's RIU hotel. - Rooms are outdated and need modernising. - Fridge stopped working, and all the ice defrosted leaving a massive pool of water in room. So had to change rooms. - Fridge made loud noises throughout the day and night. - No hot water to take showers in the evening. So had only cold showers in the evenings and you had to make sure you had a hot shower first thing in the morning, whilst "hot water was in the tank" 😡 - I wholeheartedly like tipping when the service is great, even in an all inclusive resort. BUT, being hassled with every mouthful of food, by their servers in the dinning rooms was a bit much! 😡 - This is a party hotel, and as such it's clientele are "loud, party people" If you want a classy experience in Punta Cana, this hotel is not it. I stayed at the Luxury "Serenade Suites" Hotel, which was so classy. Entertainment might not have been as good as the entertainment provided at the RIU but different strokes for different folks.
