So, it's right in the middle of St Mawes and that's great. Hotel is fine, it's not stupidly up market thank goodness, we didn't want that, we wanted a nice friendly down to earth hotel with clean rooms in which you can be close to town and ferry and that is Exactly what we got. Rooms clean, bed comfortable, bathroom fine, shower adequate. Breakfast was lovely, coffee was awesome.. Its best to park in the Central car park, about 2 mins walk. Cheap too. And the quiet, laid back, relaxing vibe of both hotel and St Mawes was utterly welcome. We will be back.

Tired hotel in need of a total re furb

Location is perfect and breakfast was served in the restaurant over looking the sea and harbour. The hotel is an older building but when price is taken into account it's good value for the location.

Had to wait nearly an hour to have the key for the room arrived 5.50pm, checked in on line prior to arrival with ETA 6pm ,not a great start, gave us a drink each as compensation, apparently they were short staffed. Room 208 South facing has the opening window screwed to the frame on each corner and as I've seen the same comments on previous reviews this has been like this sometime, it makes the room very warm and stuffy. Cant understand why the owners would not have the window repaired ? Evening meal was poor kept away the second evening. The good points friendly helpful staff, really nice buffet breakfast all you can eat and outstanding views of the harbour fantastic location, Carpark about 150 yards away ,Overnight parking 6pm till 8am only £1 and all day £6

Good location on the quay-side. But everywhere within walking distance stopped serving food by 9.00pm ?

The hotel is in a wonderful location, if you book a room with a sea view you really couldn't be much closer to the sea, the bed was comfortable and the room furnishings were reasonably good. Having said that there was a musty smell and the carpets were stained, there were cracks in the bathroom wall around the window which you could not open, only one window in the bedroom could be opened the other hand the handle removed and was screwed shut. We paid for a superior room with sea view, and as I say the view was superb, and the bed comfortable, the photos I had seen of these rooms had a balcony, it turns out that not all superior sea view rooms do though, so I felt a little misled. The breakfast is a buffet style with only scrambled eggs, although the chef offered to do me some fried eggs which was nice of him, the rest of the food was so so, only cornflakes, muesli and weetabix available for cereal, although there was also fruit and yoghurt, the coffee was nice. In short I would not go again unless this hotel went through an extensive refurb.

Sadly very below average. Room only cleaned once despite make up room notice on door. Bulbs missing, no soap in dispenser.

We stayed for my partners birthday. Room could of done with a lick of paint but other than that no problems at all. Food in the restaurant wasnt worth the price at all. Staff and swevice was good and we throughly enjoyed it

We did enjoy our stay. For a superior room, but On arrival, the room we were issued was certainly anything other than superior but on speaking to Reception we were given an upgrade without too much force which also included a balcony and an amazing view St Mawes Bay. The hotel is in prime location but it does need upgrading. You can see that they are starting the process. Parking was readily available if not right next to the hotel really not too far to walk. I would recommend stay in this hotel, but I would either go for one of the superior rooms with the balcony or to ask for an updated room

Unfortunately the room was not ready when we arrived at 16:00, with the note that we would be informed when the room was ready, in the meantime a coffee was offered. On request, after an hour's wait, our room was ready - the room had a nice view of the harbour, but the taste in the coffee was not necessarily intoxicating! The carpets should definitely be changed The bathroom was great and the fittings were modern. Customer service has room for improvement

Fabulous location right on the waterfront. Room was small (but requested a single room) but clean. Obviously had a refurb recently. Furniture, including bathroom, looked quite new.

Carpets worn smell of smoke dirty windows room dusty 103 dated needs a revamp

Room smelt of someone having smoked (cigarettes) in it. The carpets in the hotel looked tired. The shower was very weak (water pressure?) . The bed was comfortable but the pillows were like concrete! We had a balcony 2 of the chairs were totally unusable as they were very rusty. Yes I know it's by the sea!

Cheap and great location. You get what you pay for!!

This hotel certainly has character, but it could definitely do with updating. Room was basically clean apart from a few shabby bits around the shower and wash basin. People working there were very friendly. Breakfast was on the average side. Needs more fruit and cereal. Cooked choice very limited especially for vegetarians. More exciting bread for toast and pastries would have been welcome.

We were in one of the sea view rooms (room 119) and were blown away by the view. There was also a patio outside with table and chairs. Room was comfortable but not luxurious. Bed was good. Breakfast was also good, again with a tremendous view onto the harbour. The hotel has a maze of slightly dingy corridors, probably the result of various extensions over time, but that really didn't matter to us once we got our bearings

Very unique property with beautiful views especially in the dining room. Very quaint little town. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Shower and bed were good. But no biscuits in the room and only three little milk cups.

The hotel is situated right next to the sea, it’s very nice hotel. Breakfast was good, I liked it and wasn’t expensive at all, much cheaper than having a breakfast in a restaurant. There was two amazing ladies checking in for the breakfast, they were very polite and friendly. As I was on motorbike, one of the ladies gave me directions around how to get around so I enjoyed the trip. Everyone else were helpful and polite ☺️ Definitely had good experience ☺️
