Can not beat the location and easy walking to everything in Manuel Antonio. If you are okay with a minimalistic room, a bathroom that does not function and simple amenities this place is fine. Or biggest issue was a non-functioning shower even when we asked for it to be fixed they tried could not and only on our last day gave us a a room with a functioning shower.
The upside of lack of bathroom functionality is the location. It's a two minute walk to the gates of Manuel Antonio park, monkeys are often seen on the property, easy walk to Manuel Antonio village for dinner or more beach.
The hotel itself has a lovely enough pool and the hot-tub is not hot so basically two pools. Beds are comfortable. furniture old and worn.
Honestly the hotel is basic, but we went there for the location and the location was perfect. If you don't spend a lot of time in your room this spot is fine.

The staff is very friendly and provides great tour suggestions to the park. It is very conveniently located to the park if you plan to visit, a 2-min walk to the main entrance. The room is clean and sufficient.

Nice place close to the trail head.
They let you park there while your in the park for the day also.

This place was in a nice location and the room itself was clean, but the pool was filthy. Also, I would not recommend Hotels.com. I booked another hotel as part of my trip and when I got their and the hotel was no longer in operation, and it was a nightmare dealing with hotels.com. When I started demanding my money back, a pushy person who spoke broken English called to sell me ANOTHER hotel, but refused to give me my money back. I am realizing hotels.com is a racket.

Nice and quiet hotel. Rooms are what you would expect- not high end, but clean. There is a fridge which is extremely helpful. Close to a small market and literally 2 minutes to Manuel Antonio. Word of advice if you are taking the public bus to Manuel Antonio- save yourself the sweat and muscle strain and get a cab from the bus stop to the hotel. The road to the hotel is very rocky, so pulling luggage is challenging and exhausting. While the other road to get to the hotel is uphill. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the beach. Overall a great a stay.

Very expensive for what we got - one towel each and a tiny bar of soap handed over on arrival. No water glasses in room. Restaurant poor with noisy music. Our friend was woken at 9:30 pm because there'd been a confusion with payment (on arrival - another mean appraoch to welcoming guests). We would not choose this hotel again.

Hotel wasnt terrible, but Wi-Fi was very flaky from my room. Mobile signal in Manuel Antonio is very spotty overall with typically 0 mobile signal from the rooms. So without Wi-Fi youll have no way to communicate at all. Room appeared clean and bed was comfortable. Realize the this is NOT the Hotel Manuel Antonio which is a nicer looking building right on the beach. This is Hotel Manuel Antonio PARK and they are NOT the same. Hotel manager could use a lesson in customer service but the other staff was awesome. The second time my internet went out the manager was in the office when I went to tell them and he proceeded to tell me that Wi-Fi was an additional service and for the price I was paying I should not expect it to be reliable. Overall I felt this as a two star hotel with four star prices.

The check-in process consisted of a non-English speaking employee handing me towels and remote controls from the tiny office. He did carry my daughter's bag to our room. The property is very outdated. The room I stayed in had peeling paint. The beds and pillows were ultra thin. The bathroom had a window with only a screen and no curtain with an air conditioning unit just outside of it. They made up the room while we were gone. The restaurant area was not too inviting and since breakfast was an additional $10, we ate at a nice local place <100 meters down the street for around $5. The pop-up souvenir vendors set up shop right across the road from the hotel. We had to return our towels and remote controls to the office when checking out.

Very bad experience. Ugly hotel. Expensive food. Close to the beach. Poor quality

The hotel was decent. The room I stayed in was clean and pretty comfortable. There was air conditioning and towels. It's a very simple room, no fridge or even a safe. But it was all I needed because I spent most of my time on the beach which was just a few minutes away. Very convenient to just leave my rental car at the hotel and walk. Finding parking around the area for the beach and the National Park is a little crazy. The area is very safe as well, even at night as there is a security guard watching the hotel.

Impressive service. I complained about the wifi and they actually put a router near my room to make it work. Excellent customer service.

Terrible dump of a hotel. Dirt ground, unkempt. Cramped office that serves as joke of a reception. Staff doesn't speak English. Rooms are cramped and basic. The 19" TV doesn't work and is nailed to the wall as an afterthought. Spotty wi-fi at best. Bathroom is the worst. Unclean, hugely cramped and shower is a joke. Perfect vacation to buy for your terrible mother in law. We ran away after one very disappointing night and shifted to another hotel in peak season. This despite it has near perfect location close to beach and next to Manuel Antonio park entrance.
How did I end up here if it was so bad? Thanks to Expedia showing 5 star rating and comments from over 90 guests. I was incredulous after I landed there and saw the condition of the hotel and room. Rechecked the comments and turns out there are multiple properties called Manuel Anotonio and the comments are mostly for Villa Manuel Antonio and none for this property. Shameful, negligence and misleading on the part of Expedia.
