Beautiful place.

Blissful paradise! Magical property in a quiet of French countryside surrounded by nature sounds, yet writhing 20 min to Aix en Provence and 30 min to Marseille. We had a suite on second floor and it was very spacious with a daybed for reading, a separate walk in closet and a large on suite all beautifully decorated and included a fireplace. There was also a coffee station. Dinner at the restaurant was absolutely the best - we had a 5 course meal with wine pairing on the night of our arrival and it was the best meal of this 5 day, 3 stops trip to France. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and delicious. Staff is helpful and welcoming. We did not have time to enjoy the spa or the pool area, but will definitely indulge when we return.

This is a beautiful chateau experience with highly trained teams who are friedly, attentive and professional. It is pricey but for good reason.

My stay was truly amazing. I only stayed for one night but the staff was exceptional and made me feel as though I had been here forever. The castle is tucked away on a beautiful and quiet property, I will certainly be back for another stay.

Everything was just perfect for our stay. The estate is super nice. Perfect for a weekend away. The dinner at Restaurant L'Orangerie was excellent. Highly recommend with wine pairing.

Beautiful and peaceful. The rooms must have been recently remodeled because they’re so clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hospitality is amazing. They go above and beyond to make you comfortable. The breakfast selection was very good but the dinner restaurant could use some improvement.

Great grounds and building.
But….
Thoroughly let down by a terrible kitchen in the non-Michelin star restaurant, pool and room service menu.
Poor housekeeping.
I struggle to find why it has five stars considering the installations in the family rooms.
Great reception staff

This was truly an experience, 300 year old chateau, great staff, great pool, beautiful grounds, well preserved, quant old bar in the lower area, with a wine cellar and tasting room. I would definitely come back and highly recommend! The hotel is kind of a maze with lots of rooms with tons of character, beautiful.

It’s a beautiful historic property , uniquely nested within nature - it’s a dream . I would highly recommend anyone with discerning taste , to stay at Château de Fonscolombes . This establishment is an experience , a destination worth the trip. Unlike a hotel, it offers you the opportunity to enjoy the surroundings. In fact , we had the pleasure of using the Chateau bikes. It was my first time on a bicycle and I really enjoyed my site seeing journey. The property is raw , yet beautiful. I should also mention the exceptional service of the staff . Everyone was so polite , and professional . The room selected did not disappoint , best view for sure . Every detail in the room was appreciated . From the tiny little music box on the night stand to the chef little Madeline treats which we all enjoyed upon entering . However , the nicest thing about the room was its high ceilings and large windows . I was able to open all my windows and enjoy the fresh air from both ends of the bedroom . That said ,if you’re looking for something intimate , to relax get away from everyday stress this is the place for you . I also recommend trying the restaurant , the Chef just received his first Michelin Star and I’m certain he will make this restaurant among the best restaurants in France . Every dish served was not only beautifully plated , you could actually taste the freshness of the vegetables. I’m giving this experience a 5 - STAR . Thank you , and see you next year ! G.D.S

The property is charming !!!! The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating with the exception of the guide the hotel had arranged for us. He was an excellent gentleman and a great driver but he was only a driver not a historical guide. We were supposed to have another guide when we arranged the tour. Nothing against this gentleman

We are traveling around Aix-en- Provence and Luberon area for a week and staying various 5 star hotels mostly members of Relais Cheatau chain. Some of them are beyond our expectaions but Fonscolombe was not in that category although it has a great potential.
Chateau Fonscolombe spans a huge area so they may have beautiful well kept gardens which means not trimmed but well kept ( each time we mentioned the hotel staff about our concerns they make explanations based on environmental issues. ) For example the pool area and the pool was not taking good care literally there was nobody to clean the pool and the pool area..
On the other hand the hotel rooms are very clean. The decorations of the room is ok but not impressive. Also the whole Chateau needs a better decoration.
There are two or may be three restaurants in the hotel. One is gastronomic which we didn’t prefer to eat but the other one was quiet good. The breakfast they served was good. Overall the hotel has huge potential but need to elevate their operations especially the outdoor facilities.

Service in the restaurant and lounge area not as good as it has been. The food is also at its maximum in price but not in quality. Overall a wonderful place. The staff in the reception was always very kind

I did love the Chateau- although my first room was nothing like the picture. I felt as though I was put in the maides quarters, which was dark sad and drabby. For the price I was disappointed and asked for the room in the picture- but had to get to an appointment. When I returned- the room was even worse. I ended up having to pay additional for the room I wanted. I wasn’t happy about that- but I didn’t come to this place to stay in a dungeon. The staff was so friendly almost to a fault. It was lovely once I got the room I wanted - it was the 3rd try and big effort but the property was beautiful.

The chateau is absolutely exquisite, made all the more so by the wonderful and attentive staff. The venue is like something out of a dream; beautiful rooms, fantastic restaurant, grounds to wander on and view the vineyards (and two donkeys). All the staff are friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The divine Coralie Gourjaud (Front Office Manager) made our stay truly perfect. Special mention to Lucas Bourgville (wonderful concierge service) and the charming sprite Hilda in the dining room.

Beautiful stay with a warm and accommodating staff (Coralie was great!) and wonderful spa offerings (Nadine at the spa is amazing!). Even though my original booking had to be modified due to a private event, the staff helped with adjusting the booking. Loved how they promote wellness culture - I would definitely stay here again!

What a lovely place
Feels as if you are in a push 17th century facility
The chateau is kept so beautiful all the details are authentic yet it is up to date with technology Wi-Fi room amenities spa and pool
And above all this the stuff is so friendly (bravo s charlotte).
I have to admit the one downside is it is a distanced place not easy to find in darkness but this will not prevent us from coming again

Beautiful hotel/Chateau...will be an amazing property once travel fully resumes...the fine dining restaurant has the potential to be a 3 star Michelin restaurant. Been traveling in Europe for the past two months and would highly recommend staying and dining here.

The castle is beautiful but we were disappointed with the stay. The service was not up to what we were expecting for the price. The grounds are very pretty although not close to much. The restaurant is very expensive. We did not find the bed to be comfortable, and the ac did not seem to be working well.

Romantic weekend get away. Disapointed that the steam room was closed because we choose this hotel because of the steam room. They should announce it on hotels.com when certain facilities are closed.

We visited this hotel during the quiet season and were very impressed with the facility. The hotel is an old Chateau on a huge and gorgeous property in the countryside. Needless to say the area is extremely quiet and peaceful. We were upgraded to a larger room due to it being a slow season. The staff were very professional and our room was superb. Even though the location is a little out of the way I would recommend this very much for a relaxing peaceful get away. They have also a fine dining restaurant in the hotel serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

A well decorated chateau! As a historical heritage, the chateau is well maintained and there is a floor of common area that is decorated in the traditional French style. Basically like a museum and we managed to take many beautiful photo there. Rooms are well decorated with the classic French style. Staff is very helpful and nice, food in the restaurant is also very tasty with reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

It’s a typical castle from the south of France in Provence. It’s quiet and elegant. We loved our room. It was spacious and comfortable with air conditioning which was important because of the heat wave we experienced during our stay.
Fonscolombe location is ideal. it’s so close to Aix and the county of luberon where we visited many beautiful villages.
