So, I don’t like to complain, but this hotel is a real mixed bag. First, the hotel is very well-situated between the train station and the old port, it’s very modern and tries hard to be chic. The design is interesting, but the open common area around which all the rooms are oriented is not as pictured. It’s now a dining area for breakfast service. That said, the design concept is an interesting touch. Secondly — and crucially — if you’re unlucky enough to be placed in one of the rooms on the 1st floor (2nd floor for Americans), you very well will have an open bathroom. “What’s that?” you ask. It means that there is no door to your bathroom. It’s situated behind a wall between the bathroom and the bedroom, but in terms of privacy, that doesn’t do much. I mean, traveling as a couple who’s been married for 13 years, it’s not a big deal, but if this is a romantic getaway — maybe your first trip together — be forewarned. You will probably be defecating in the same room you’re sleeping in. There. I said it. Forewarned is forearmed. Lastly, the hotel advertises itself as having soundproof rooms. This is simply untrue. Noise is a problem, not from the interior of the hotel, but from the outside. Sound insulation was NOT a real investment by the designers. So: very friendly and helpful staff and an interesting design concept, but no real soundproofing and an epic bedroom/bathroom design make La Fabrique the hotel I will NOT go back to during my next trip to La Rochelle.

Charming little hotel close to the harbour. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, cool and comfortable. We were really pleased with our stay.

Very nice hotel and staff. I liked the atypical decor. Room was nice and good value for money easy to get around the town and quick access to train station. Absolutely would stay again. Only complaint is would be nice to have a mini fridge in room to keep drinks.

Very well located design hotel in central La Rochelle, 5 min walk from the gare and nearby all POI. Warm welcoming, free bottled water and very comfortable bed! Would highly recommend !

The breakfast was really nice. The bed very comfortable and the shower with good pressure

Hotel had an “industrial” feel to it. Rooms are small, internet a bit slow,no artwork on walls. Breakfast was fine, parking is nearby. The location is excellent.

Location is absolutely perfect. Great service, room very clean. Honestly, all was very good, we enjoyed our week-end and could walk to bar, restaurants, all within a few minutes by walk. We already plan to come back :)

Nice place, but I drove around in a circle when I arrived, then realizing that you can’t drive right up to the hotel, the City has a large pedestrian area blocked off. 10 minute walk with luggage from City parking to the hotel, but once there it’s very centrally located.

We love this hotel. Fabulous location right in the heart of La Rochelle and the rooms are so quiet. Beautifully clean and the breakfast is what brought us back!!!

Really unusual hotel. Old on the outside but very modern inside. Comfortable beds, spotlessly clean rooms. I had a disabled room and it had plenty of space for our bags and wheelchair. The shower had a good, solid put down stool so I could sit with comfort whilst showering. One odd thing was the tap on the wash hand basin, to get hot water you had to push it to the right and then hot water came out with great force! Difficult to adjust, for me anyway.Nice bar downstairs and very nice staff all went out of their way to be helpful. An unbeatable situation right in the centre of the old port area. Breakfast looked good, both hot and cold but all we wanted was a short walk to get a croissant and coffee. We stayed two nights but didn’t have far to walk to find a nice coffee shop, almost next door, serving an excellent cafe creme and breakfast!

Good value and very pleasant hotel. Excellent location, nice bathroom and shower. Minimalist, but certainly adequate, overall very good quality for the price.

An amazing hotel in the port area of La Rochelle. The decor is quirky and stylish, the staff are friendly and very helpful, Jeremy arranged discounted parking nearby, you just need to email reception to book. Rooms were basic, but had everything you needed. Beds super comfortable, and great showers. We travelled with a large group for the La Rochelle vs Exeter Chiefs champions cup rugby. The hotel is in the busy bar area, so can be a little noisy, but was perfect for us. We will stay here again. 5 stars.

A modern stylish hotel in a fabulous position in the centre of the old city. La Rochelle is a lovely place to visit and La Fabrique was a really convenient base

This hotel is fairly new so the rooms are very clean. However the rooms are quite tiny but was ok for me. Hotel is in a great location. 5-7 min walk from the train and a really really good location. There is a grocery store a few doors down. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend.
