Such a great hotel in a lovely location. The breakfast was a highlight, and the service was excellent. We booked a twin room which was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Would stay again without hesitation.

Lovely stay at Victorian House. Great breakfast and good value considering it is in Grasmere Village. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Very friendly.
Only criticism would be that the room (7) was bland &grey. Could have done with a few more pictures & some colour.

Amazing hotel in Grasmere, ideally situated for walks and opposite the bus stop if you want to go to Ambleside, Windermere etc. The hotel is decorated very tastefully. The staff are so helpful and polite. Our bedroom was very comfortable and had amazing views. Loved the welcome gingerbread as you checked in. We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Price is very reasonable. Lots of choice for breakfast

A very nice place to stay while hiking the coast to Coast trail. Alex and Jacqueline were wonderful for our check-in and our breakfast in the morning.very personable and friendly. It was such a comfy room that it was a shame we didn't arrive earlier. We had a 16 mile day of hiking so we didn't get there until almost dark! Would highly recommend this as a stop.

Lovely hotel with really nice staff. The only tricky thing was parking. There are only 7 spots for 20+ rooms. We stayed in the Stargazer room which had a lovely view but the curtains weren’t good enough at blocking light overnight. It was also quite warm even when it was only 18-19 degrees outside. There is also an emergency exit light in the room that is incredibly bright. And the door itself lets light in from the hallway. Otherwise, a very nice stay in a great location.

Accept the neighbour upstairs very noisy. Just thin wall in the annex.

This was a beautiful place to stay, stunning location in Grasmere with walks/ hikes on the doorstep. Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great too. Totally recommend 😁

This our third stay at the Victorian House. It’s our favorite place to stay in Grasmere. Staff are always great and were even better this year making for a wonderful stay. We loved the afternoon homemade cake provided this year! Breakfasts are always delicious.

A fantastic long weekend here. I received a great welcome as I arrived early and wanted to leave my car to go for a walk.
Perfect room, just as described.
Breakfast was very tasty, lots of choice and promptly served.
I had my two spaniels with me and they were welcomed everywhere - sausages on offer at breakfast and kept them quiet.

Met all expectations and more. Very friendly staff and atmosphere all round.
The only small thing to mention is that in Room 6, which I think is above the kitchen, there is a rather noisy rumble sound which I think comes from a fan below?? It begins about 7.15 in the morning.

Really good stay! The shepherd’s hut was lovely and cosy. There is no TV in there which wasn’t a problem for us but just something to be aware of. The breakfast was excellent, as were the staff.

Location was great, and our room was nicely furnished with a beautiful view. The bathroom was very well appointed.
I didn't like that we had to reserve a specific time for breakfast.

It is a Stunning property very well managed and maintained. Excellent breakfast, very helpful and polite staff. You can walk to the main market n restaurant.

We booked this place due to the great rating on this site. Wonderful staff. Lovely location. Beautiful room. We booked the stargazer suite and even though the skies did not co-operate the view was still stunning. Breakfast was delicious.
There is a Co-op shop 3 doors down and a great restaurant 2 doors down.
Would happily stay again!
