The outdoor are is really charming and the owners are very nice. I hate to write this review because of that, but I wish I had known what the room was REALLY like before booking. I’m all for spartan accommodations - I stay in hostels and budget hotels all the time. But there is a difference between basic/dated, and just plain gross. The room was dirty, the shower drain stank, there was mold or mildew in the bathroom, and the wall the bed was against was filthy, like hundreds of people had been putting their dirty feet on it. We stayed one night and slept as far from the dirty wall as possible.
Additionally, the room was extremely dark, the mattresses were well past their expiration date, and the window was busted, so you could heard in and out of the room so we didn’t even feel like we had any privacy. The cost was an absurd price for this kind of cleanliness and wear and tear, especially when you can get clean basic accommodations for about the same price all around. I am so glad it was just a one night experience.

Clean and close to a lot of restaurants and things to do on the island. Staff was nice as well. The rooms are very small and rustic

The accommodation was too the back of the town which only has 3 streets, so quiet nights. The host was very helpful and informative and always on site. Amazing views of the lake and sunset. But best of all it has a pool that we didn't think we wanted but coming back from snorkeling and diving it was really nice to relax in.

The staff is wonderful, and the location is perfect! The room was adequate but thats all we needed to shower and sleep in 😃 The pool was clean and well maintained. I would recommend for a few nights!

It's been my second time at this hotel and felt welcome each time. The new breakfast/lunch restaurant with a handfull of drinks available upgrades this cozy, family run hotel unique and loveable. Staff and owner very helpful and accommodating.

This place was just perfect for me. Walkable, safe, convenient and budget friendly. The staff was very nice and they had an amazing breakfast. Definitely will be back.

I loved this little hotel! Watch the sunset every night. Great breakfast! Get a bucket of Belikin and chill in the pool after a long day of walking. Go to Caliente’s across the street and enjoy the best shrimp curry you ever had in your life while the steel drummer plays. Just wonderful!

The hotel was run by the most gracious and personable owner. He made us feel right at home! The hotel (newer rooms) are quaint, clean and located within walking distance to everything. The deck is a great space to sit and relax or watch the sun go down. The hotel is right across the street from Caliente restaurant, which has nightly live music that you can hear right from the pool. It was a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back.

It was a comfort stay and you get what you pay for. The best part was that Mike stays in the property and is available for any issues and conversations. He humbly dropped us to the water taxi in his golf cart as well. The property can definitely be upgraded with renovations and modern amenities but for the price and location if you are looking to not burn a hole and have a short stay, it works. Can just walk around from here in the hustle of San Pedro.

The staff is lovely, and the location is good, but the rooms are a bit updated. Specifically the faucets in the sink and shower and the toilet handle really need to be cleaned up.

Mattresses felt like they were from 1970’s bunk beds-every spring and seam hurt. Who knew that spring mattresses still exist? Shower still had an opened/empty shampoo container on the floor and a tarantula-sized hairball in the shower drain when we arrived, so raised the question regarding cleanliness. No safe in Room. 2 plug ins in room, tv/router/fridge plugged into extension cord and hanging off cords. Very centrally located and not a bad place to sleep for the one night we stayed, but any longer would be a hard no. The restaurant staff and Mike were amazing.

The property owner is mike and he runs the property with his lovely wife and daughter. You can tell they care about their property and guests as i was making too much noise at the pool one night and he kindly provided better options for us to be loud on the property without disturbing the other guests. Thanks Mike.

Very centrally located. Just off the main roads enough that you do not hear the constant rumbling of golf carts. Lagoon side of ocean is right across street.

All in all a great stay here. Convenient location, beautiful pool and courtyard, simple clean rooms with AC and a small fridge, at a good price. Will be staying here again next time I'm in San Pedro.

Loved our group stay here at Ambergris Sunset! Owner was friendly, kind, understanding, and helpful. Location was super convenient and easy. Some minor problems such as a toilet leak/flood, but overall am satisfied with our stay

Mike is a great host, full of recommendations. The restaurant on site had great food and very reasonable. We loved sitting by the pool to cool off and relax.

For the price we paid everyhting was great. The host is very friendly and helpful. My kids loved the little pool, every evening afeter the beach they would soak in the pool again. We only foudn the beds a bit uncomfortable though.

Excellent Value Stay! We will be coming back here again thats a promise. Super Friendly Staff and very affordable. They helped us arrange transportation and were spot on with the best restaurants to go to. This place is in a great location with a Grocery Store 1 block away and 1 of our favorite Restaurants right across the street.

We stayed here for ten days during July/Lobster Fest. It is convenient to all things, has a pool, restaurant & bar, and on the back street away from the noise. There is easy, safe parking for golf carts. The owner and staff are super friendly. It is a great, **budget-friendly** accommodation!

It was in the heart of San Pedro. We didn't even need a golf cart and walked the area several times. Lots of eating options on the property and around the hotel. Loved the dog on property - She was very mellow and loveable. The custom service was excellent. What we didn't like - Wished they provided more towels and the A/C took a little time to cool off the room.

Family operated, mom cooks wonderful, daughter runs the service, dad smiles a lot, all a delight. Home feel to stay, very friendly and relaxed. Basic accommodations but very clean, everything one needs, close to older part of town. Come here to enjoy the friendly side of Belize.
