Amazing host, so lovely and peaceful and minutes from town and the beach

We stayed at Casa de la Ballena during our recent 10 day Sayulita trip and absolutely loved it. The location of the property is less then a five minute walk into town, so no need for a golf cart unless you plan to explore further out. For as much noise as there sometimes is around the town, our experience while in the hotel was always extremely peaceful and quiet. The entire property always felt clean, safe and really secure. The pool was a perfect place to lounge on the days we didn’t want to hangout at the beach and kept us cool in the heat. From 8-11am you’re also welcome to join on the patio for breakfast and coffee, which was included in your stay and really delicious. You’re provided a small menu of options, spanning from pancakes and bacon to chilaquiles, and everything was super yummy. Martin and his staff are incredibly polite, accommodating and take a lot of pride in the property. The place was even more beautiful then the photos led on. I highly recommend staying here and plan to make it our regular spot from now on.

Loved this hotel! Martin and his staff treat their guests like family. The property was well kept, in great condition, and very comfortable. Downtown is a short walk and it was nice to be a little outside the busy area. The neighborhood felt safe and the itself was a little oasis. Also, the daily breakfast offered a variety of options and was delicious. I would definitely recommend. Thanks for a great stay!

This place is amazing. So relaxing and great to come to after the hustle and bustle of the town! The staff were absolutely amazing and very helpful. We will stay here every time we come to Sayulita

Amazing stay at Casa de la Ballena. Martin and the hotel staff are very warm, welcoming and kind. The property and the casitas were stunning, full of everything you need. Amenities (breakfasts + filtered water) were greatly appreciated. The garden is pristine and the pool was incredible. We very much enjoyed our relaxing stay here (and away from the busy town center). We are looking forward to returning again in the future. Thank you!

We stayed here because it was close to town, but yet not enough to have the noise. However, the first night the owners and a couple guests had a late night party (2am) in the hot tub, which was right next to our room. It was constant talking and laughing, we could hear every word. I’m cool with something til 10 or even 11. But 2am was disrespectful. It’s a very small property and I’m sure we weren’t the only ones bothered by this. I’d go back, but hesitant because of that event.

It had good amenities and if we needed anything at all the staff went above and beyond to get it to us immediately! I cannot recommend this property highly enough. When I extended my stay by a night I simply booked this based on the location and perceived amenities; but after checking in I wish I had spent my entire stay here! The owner (Martin) and staff were kind, responsive, and extremely helpful. The rooms and property are pristinely maintained, spacious and beautiful. I was truly surprised by how well appointed and stocked the kitchen was in my spacious room. Breakfasts that is included in your stay is really wonderful, you choose from a menu it’s not a mediocre buffet or single option. Something that is a HUGE bonus when staying in Mexico - all rooms have filtered water. Amazing! This place is an excellent value. The wifi was good enough that I could easy come for a week or more and work from here. One of my favorite things about this property was tranquil vibe. This is not a place to stay if you’re looking to party - you have other options for that in Sayulita. It felt like a hidden paradise… when I showed my friends who were staying elsewhere pictures and the peaked in the door (no extra guests allowed which I also loved) they were so jealous. Location is phenomenal with all the best Sayulita has to offer a short flat (or can be hilly!) walk. We are all planning to book here our next trip!

This was a small very private hotel. It was close to everything while having a secluded feeling with its courtyard design. The breakfasts were excellent. Having a kitchenette was very handy for keeping cold drinks and fruits. While there was no balcony, sitting in the poolside dining area was very comfortable and never crowded. I think it would be possible to happily work from here, for those so inclined. I extended my stay because it was perfect for me.

Stayed in 3 different places in sayulita and this was the best. Nice, clean, close to everything but then quiet when you need it. Delicious breakfast, great staff.

Such an amazing spot and location. The host is absolutely amazing. Someone ordered an ingredient that they did not have and he ran to the store to pick it up. Cannot speak more highly of this property.

It was a fully equipped room, with some details in rustic cabana-style decoration, it has a full kitchen and kitchen utensils in case you want to stay more days and make your own food. The water in the pool was excellent, it is heated 24 hours a day so you can use it at any time due to its pleasant temperature. The external and shared areas are beautiful and have background music so you can relax in your little summer paradise. It is close to the center and the beach and you can access them on foot, but it gives you the necessary privacy so you don't have to be in the bustle all the time.

A peaceful haven just tucked away from the town. Very private and calm environment. Even more lovely than I expected from the photos. All the amenities you could need, tasty breakfast included, beautiful pool...what more can I say. Martin and the team are so helpful and willing to go above and beyond. Will absolutely be back!

Literally one of best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Clean, spacious rooms, and quiet at night . Close to the beach and to the nightlife.

Accommodation very comfortable. Common area... pool, hot tub, lounging area and breakfast area so inviting. Casa de la Ballena is like a little oasis midst the busy lifestyle that is Sayulita. Staff added to the pleasantness of our stay, in particular Martin who endlessly maintains the property. Also, Jasmin, Victoria, Graciella and Cielo who greeted us every day with a smile. If you like to exercise, then try out the gym on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool.

The grounds were beautiful, the room was clean and modern with wonderful service by the staff!

Beautiful sanctuary minutes away from the heart of Sayulita.

This was a top notch resort. Very sad that we only got to stay one night. We will definitely be back!
