We stayed there two times, one week apart. The first time we were given a room at the EconoLodge and it was great. No complaints at all! The second time we were given a room at the TC motel across the street. Although the bed and bathroom were very clean, there were many issues. Filthy material on the chairs and lampshade. A pile (not even folded) of extra linens left on the kitchen area counter and in the sink. No toilet paper in the bathroom, but found it in a bag on the counter. No front panel to the stove. We were moved to a room at the EconoLodge after they could not get the shower curtain rod fixed (it was not in place when we arrived). The staff was great, though. They just need to give the TC motel rooms some serious TLC.

We were given a room across the street in the Econo Lodge. We were extremely impressed with this property considering the price we paid. It was very clean and quiet. Bob helped us with check-in and was very pleasant. I wasn't expecting much for breakfast, considering the price, but there were eggs, sausages, hashbrowns, waffles, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

We actually didn’t stay in the TC Motel. You have to go check in at the EconoLodge across the street, and I asked about a cot for our 5th person. They were very friendly and said the TC Motel didn’t have cots but he’d just put us in a room at the EconoLodge. We ended up getting a huge room with a full kitchen (stove, full-size fridge, microwave, pots and utensils, kitchen sink, etc.), 2 Queen beds and a couch for the same price as our TC booking. The decor is dated, but everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The continental breakfast was extensive and the staff service was excellent. I will seek the EconoLodge out if I’m staying in Medicine Hat again.

Note on office door said to register at Econo Lodge across the street. Not a huge deal but a bit of a pain. They had been doing some updates to the room. When we walked in it smelled like urine. There was an old stove that didn't look in the best of condition with pots and dishes in the cupboards and full size fridge. The Air Conditioner worked but had a very noisy fan. For what we paid which was cheap so did the job for the night.

A little run down but the owner was very friendly and the bed was comfortable.

The pool was very nice, clean and warm. The gentleman who checked us in at the front desk was absolutely fantastic, and even went out of his way to help us out with some toothpaste. Our room was very cosy and tidy. Will definitely come again!

The check-in staff couldn't find my reservation at first and told me they didn't have a room at TC Motel and had me stay at Econo Lodge instead. I didn't like to be up on the second floor having to haul all my luggage up there. Also the water in the shower was not hot enough. I really needed a hot shower at the end of the day, but it was so cold I could hardly stand it.

This review is on EconoLodge, not TC Motel. Check-in (as well as buffet breakfast, pool and fitness center) is in EconoLodge that is across the street. Check-in clerk did not have my Expedia reservation, charged slightly more, but still acceptable, and allowed me to stay in EconoLodge. First room assigned was still occupied. Send room OK. Building probably 1970 vintage that has been upgraded somewhat, refurbished somewhat, acceptable. Many unprofessional finishing on upgrades and refurbishing, as well as many good features, too numerous to include here. Major irritation for me was no hot showers or baths. A limiter was installed in the tub faucet to limit amount of hot water.

It has the same owner as Econo lodge so we were upgraded to the newer place. Free breakfast, a pool and good wi-fi is great for what we paid.
