From the outside it looks a little dated but the inside was very updated and very charming! The beds were super comfy and the pool area was absolutely the best! I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Florida Keys

We stay here often while visiting Islamorada. Rooms are spacious and clean, very clean pool, and excellent location near restaurants, bars, and shopping. Staff is friendly and efficient. It’s a motel, not a resort, but it’s clean and well maintained. Hope they keep prices reasonable!

All of the front desk staff I talked to were so friendly. The pool was a hit with my kid. It was nice that there was a restaurant nearby that we could walk to without having to cross any streets (Lorelei). The room was spacious and clean. The parking was a little weird on the first day because it seemed full, but they explained that they have more spots than you would think (if that makes sense). And they have Wi-Fi, but it's not password protected which gave me a bit of a pause.

The property is within walking distance of both the Islamorada Brewery and the Florida Keys brewery. Next to the hotel is Mangrove Mike’s Cafe which offers a very good breakfast. For lunch/dinner, the waterfront Lorelei Restaurant and Cabana Bar is within walking distance. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel.

Negative things...refrigerator wouldn't keep things cold, we added ice to it and treated it like a cooler; the air conditioner was set on 61 the entire time and the room didn't get below 74, lastly at different times there wasn't any hot water (3pm) for showers and sink didn't get but lukewarm. On the positive side, the beds and pillows were super comfortable, and the staff was extremely nice. For the price we paid, I expected it to be a little nicer.

My family and I were looking for somewhere to stay before our reservations in Key West the following day. The Sunset Inn was perfect! Our room was spacious and clean. The grounds and pool were also well-kept. We would definitely stay here again!!

Room to small for king size bed. No room for clothes storage. Bed frame was for a water bed with king matress inside. Wood rim damaging to my leg. Other safety problems on property.

Rip off $ 22 “resort fee” demanded at check in despite prepaid booking on Expedia. This motel is not a resort. Cockroaches in our room, lounge chairs by pool are all dirty and torn, only nice thing is pool which looks clean.

Room was very clean and bathroom had adequate towels and hooks for hanging them up. Lots of pillows, soft bed.
With AC cranking I slept well. Traffic was loud at times when trucks went by as we were in the front. But the AC drowned out most noise and acted as a white noise machine. Pleasantly surprised by this motel.

Front desk could have catered less that a group of 15 kids had every chair and both tables the entire pool basically over took the whole space! Toilet leaked and smelled like sewer ants everywhere and had to call about a cockroach. Not ideal and not relaxing at all. Disappointed

Basic lodging. The room has seen better days. There were stains on the chair in my room. Not good. I found a cockroach in my room when I checked in.

The Sunset Inn is a beautifully restored motel. We stayed for one night enjoying the pool and local restaurants. It is convenient to all the Islamorada activities.

Hotel is well situated for travel in and around Islamorada. However, the A/C unit was so old that it ran continuously and was very loud. So much so that you needed earplugs to have any chance of sleeping.
Pool chairs are in desperate need of repair. Webbing is so stretched that you’re lying on the metal support beams. Very uncomfortable. Only one tiny hook in the very small bathroom. Front desks answer to drying towels.. “ hang them outside”.
Zero water pressure. Good exercyrunning around in the shower to get wet.
