The cabin we stayed in was really nice, but the light in the bathroom made a weird noise and the refrigerator didn’t really stay cold. Other than that everything was perfect.

We arrived and the attendants were very friendly. It was clean. We didnt have any hot water. It was nice for an older place.

View was good. Cabin #5 cowboy hangout smelled like a litter box. Tried to tolerate it but we couldn't allergies started, so we just left.

Property owner/manager was very kind & accommodating. It was close to the river, which is amazing. It did say river access on the sign but there was no path to get down to the river behind the cabin... a little sad, but it's not a far drive to get to the main area. Dislikes: Poor lighting makes it easy to "hide" dirtiness. Sheets were stained yellow/brown, pillows were yellow, fridge and freezer were dirty. We didn't complain because we didn't need much, thankfully we bought our own sheets and pillows. If I could add pics here I would. :( There's no actual pots or pans or any dish sponge available to do dishes. The place really could use a maid. Oh don't plan on showering your family all in the same night, Hot water tank is not big enough to shower two people comfortably. (We were a family a four & 2 of us took a cold shower) Over nice area, friendly owner but place needs some TLC. Thanks for the stay

Very bad. Got cused out by the owner on a Sunday morning. Arrived, no office, no answer phone for three hours. Place dirty, toilet outside of next cabin. Got called names until i had to hang up , blocked because he kept calling me. Owner had my phone number. Tried to get me to bypass Hotels.com

They did not have the room I reserved because they were closing and had already packed up all their king sized rooms. They said that I could cancel was the only good thing if that’s true. Needless to say I didn’t stay there

The owners have let this place run down to the point that I would rate it as the absolute worst place I have stayed in my 50+ years of travel. Years ago I stayed here a few times but it appears that no upgrades have been done in the past 20+ years, ie., Worn out carpet, uncomfortable beds, bugs/spiders, no anti-slip strips in tub, metal entry keys and no security lock on door, walls/trim needing painting, NO wall electrical outlets in bathroom and only 1 outlet for light, microwave, refrigerator, & coffepot, and unclean.

Air conditioner and mirrors needed better cleaning. Balconys need cleaning from bugs, webs nest etc. Carpet in my room desperately needs replacing. Staff was wonderful, comfortable, ac was cold, tv was directtv. Love the view.

With this lodging it’s all about location. The rooms need to be totally redone but the location is great.

This place has a beautiful view, and the people are very nice. The rooms, however, are not stocked with soap and shampoo. There could be better cleaning of the areas that are not the bed or the towels. That part was great. We did have to ask for fresh washcloths, more coffee, and cups for second nap. But the view makes up for so much of the negative.

I have stayed here many times and had no issues.

We had a front facing ground floor. The door wouldnt latch. You could literally push it open with your finger. We discovered this too late and the office was closed but we did receive a refund for the next night. Its not well insulated so traffic and trains were an annoyance, but cant be helped. The room needs a blanket and some updating but the staff was super friendly and accommodating, the view out back was really nice, the room was clean and everything worked. The price is a little high and could be complimented with a cold continental to make it more worth the price.

If you could get past the old stained carpet, it was really a nice place with a good view of the river. Nice convenient parking, a little close to the main road and a railway so if a little noise will keep you from sleeping well, maybe keep going.

No phones in rooms. Could never connect to their free wifi. Tv would go off sporadically. Could not plug my hairdryer in the bathroom. Only 1 outlet on the bathroom, ABOVE the very high mirror. Office hours were not as listed on website. Ice machine not working, had to go to the office for ice. I really think we are owed a refund since there were no phones and we couldn't connect to wifi. If we needed the office or to talk to our other room we needed to go for a walk.

Well I found out after paying for the room and it being no refund that at some point they had bed bugs after that I checked everything before I could go to bed. They sheets had blood on them from the last people so I know they weren't changed. Then the day I was getting ready to leave I stripped the bed to find out there was blood on the mattress. Also if you enjoy having a back and not being in pain don't go there. The internet didn't work inside the rooms you had to open the door and sit outside to use you're phone on there WiFi. There are restaurants in the town near by. If you have any service other then att you won't get phone service up there.

Staff was friendly. Pool was nice. View is great. Microwave and fridge was a bonus. Room wasn’t very clean and a lot things are outdated. We chose this place because we stayed 14 years ago a few times and loved it but this will probably be our last.

The hotel was what I would describe as adequate. My room could have used new mattresses and a complete bathroom make over. No continental breakfast. Outstanding view of the river. A bit noisy due to trains and traffic.

The linens were dirty. The shower was dirty. The carpet was so nasty we didn't take or shows of other than to sleep. The light had something alive in it. The ceiling fans were caked with black gunk. There was a coffee pot but no coffee, filters or cups. The phone didn't work. The lock on the door didn't work. The only thing the hotel had going for it was the view of the river below it. We were scheduled to stay two nights while visiting a friend. We cut our visit short and checked out bright and early because my husband nor I could sleep. This hotel ruined our vacation. I am just grateful that I bought the travel insurance.

Convenient for kayaking

The reviews for this motel are pretty unfair. I booked after reading some varying reviews and only after I made the reservation did I read scathing reviews regarding the abysmal state of this place. Here's what I found: 1.Great customer service - 3 days before our stay, an employee called to inform me that their pool was out of service so that we could cancel our reservation in time if we needed to . I've stayed at plenty of big, corporate hotels with closed pools/amenities and never received a call from any of them prior to arrival. Friendly staff was helpful with check-in, restaurant recommendations and check-out. 2.This is a quaint, vintage motel - not a Waldorf Astoria. It's crazy to me that people anticipate 5 star accommodations, when the lodging clearly represents itself as what it is...a 2 or 3 star establishment. So, towels that do not match or signs of age in an older building should be no surprise and did not affect my family's stay in any way. 3. The ac was COLD, clean, with comfortable beds, a new, large t.v.; with a pretty view from the sliding glass door of the river (which was a happy surprise). All in all, I was very satisfied with our stay.

Good place for the price paid …. be aware of railway next to it and trains traffic (sound) at night … there are places to eat and fill tank near by

This is one of the most disgusting places in which I have ever stayed. There was not even a closet in the room. There were 2 tiny bath towels and 2 cheap wash clothes that didn’t even match. The floors were filthy. The walls had holes everywhere. No windows from which we could see out. I could go on forever. I am 76 and sister traveling eith me is a cancer patient. There had been a horribe truck wreck that stopped all traffic flow. It was extremely late and we were exhausted. So, we just stayed in our clothes on top of the covers. It was totally creepy and we moved the ratty old furniture to block anyone from entering. People shouid have more pride than to ever advertise that place.

The room needs updating,but was clean and comfortable,we needed the room for 1night only so worked out well,also pet friendly which is a must for us....

Good place for a weekend. They keep the pool & property very clean. The pool is a excellent bonus & it is cleaned daily. It has a nice view of the river in most rooms. The staff is polite & very professional.

My kids were not happy when we pulled up but when the door opened to my room they loved it…especially the room. Always remember…don’t judge a book by its cover.

This is an older hotel but it was clean, the desk clerk was friendly. we would stay again.
