Very comfortable room ideal for travelling workmen

Comfy and clean, very nice room and surprisingly quiet at night for being over a pub.

I stayed alone here for two nights and found this to be good budget accommodation. I received a warm welcome, got shown to my room. This contained a very comfortable double bed, a hanging rail, bedside cabinets, TV, tea, coffee, kettle and hairdryer. The bathroom had a walk in shower, loo, loo rolls, sink, towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap. Everything was well cleaned.
The rooms are above a sports pub in a side road with cafes, the town centre and the beach all within 5 mins walk. The railway station is a good 10 minute walk away, longer with luggage. Lots of eating and drinking places, theatre, cinema, Morrisons supermarket, buses, all within walking distance.
Its important that you notify the Claremont of your arrival time. This is to make sure someone is there to check you in. The rooms are above a pub, so there was some noise, noises of plumbing in the other rooms and some street noises. But nothing to spoil the stay and I felt safe. Rooms are accessed via a metal staircase outside the pub. And there were some steps to access rooms. So may not be ideal for people with mobility issues, although I managed. I came by train, which was easier than finding parking in the area.
Overall I would recommend a stay here when visiting Bognor.

Booked the room as a quick and easy stay before a local event. Hotels are often booked up prior to the event and The Claremont Inn was one of the few remaining places within my budget. Overall stay was good, convenient location and modern clean room. Upon arrival was welcomed by drunk bar customers and lack of directions for where to check into the room, making me feel slightly uncomfortable as I stood there with all my luggage and no attention given by the one member of staff in sight. Only when a man (I assume the owner) walked past asking if we were okay did we finally manage to get to our room. During the night we could hear loud music and shouting from downstairs (it is a bar so it’s kind of expected).
For the price it met expectations and was in the perfect location for our requirements

Nice room clean & modern remote control had no batteries,it’s a pub that closed at 8pm on Sunday had no idea who to contact if anything went wrong

Check-in was poor - the person on duty hadn't been told we were coming so had to try and get hold of someone to tell her which room to put us in.
The bed in Room 3 is very creaky on one side where too many people have used it as a seat.
The shower didn't work properly - the water either dribbled or cut out completely.
There's a pigeon problem so we had the noise of pigeons all night.
The property is very near a busy road so there was traffic noise all night.
Not all the lights in the room worked.
No checkout option - just told to leave the key in the door when we left.
£80 for the room was very steep.

I couldn't accept WI-Fi.
They promise car park, but doesn't worked.
They said no smoke room, but everything was smelling cigarettes.
I read about breakfast was included but not.
My receive didn't submit in my email.

In the room , mattress very thin
Winter duvet on the bed .
Cannot understand how this is £100 hotel /room

To be fair to the Claremont, we actually never stayed there. Nothing to to with the Caremont. We arrived and the pub, but had no parking at all. I went in, to ask where we could park. I was given instructions by a lovely young lady. Tried as we much as we could. We had no luck. We were going to a fancy dress party, so we had a lot of lugage and a large presant. When we finally found parking, it was not practical for us, and we felt comfortable leaving the car. Under different circumstances. We would have been happy with the Claremont .

Very clean but a metal staircase to climb which is not very suitable for anyone with disabilities and heavy cases.

Room was great, shame no parking.

Small but comfortable bolt hole on the western side of the town tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac behind the Royal Norfolk Hotel. No parking on site but plenty of free on street parking between 17:00 and 09:00 Mon - Sat. Steyne Gardens proved beneficial in that respect.

It was ok. No parking on site.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The music from the pub was loud at 10pm sounded thudding from room 3 and I couldn’t sleep knowing that I had to be up early and it was a short stay I called the number on the booking who answered to help and within 3-4 minutes the music had stopped so this was resolved straight away and I then slept well after the music stopped. The room was cosy and convenient

Listed as a bed & breakfast, but is room only, above a pub. Dolphin Cafe nearby does a fab breakfast! Room is compact but super clean and well fitted. Easy to walk to from the station, and right by the seafront.

Great stay and staff and nice pub.

Our stay here was fantastic. Cleanliness was excellent. The bed was huge and very comfy. A nice big smart tv in the room (also room a very nice big size). Can not fault the place!

No parking, no breakfast, pub mentality complete with local morons.whatever it costs go elsewhere.

Small pub down a back street behind a laundrette.
Large store 100m away was a food bank.
Access to the rooms was outside up a metal fire escape.
Asked about breakfast was told to try the cafes in town. Returned after first day to dirty cups and unemptied bins and unmade beds.
booked for 12 nights. Paid for 7 on arrival. Left after 2 nights.
Would never go anywhere near the place again

The Claremont has a few rooms above a pub, but the entrance is completely separate. We shared the Family Room with our granddaughter, a very comfortable double and single bed. The bathroom is modern and, like the room, spotlessly clean.
The Inn has tea & coffee making facilities in the room but does not offer breakfast. No matter, as there is the wonderful Dolphin cafe (breakfast, brunch, lunch - all super-fresh, and smiley service) just a 3 minute walk away near the sea front.
The area was very quiet and a leisurely 10 minute walk from the station, 5 mins to the sea gront and to the high street. I would definitely use the Claremont again.
The one important thing is to agree checkin time in advance with the owners, as there may be no-one around, especially before 4 pm when the pub opens. But Sam the owner is extremely accommodating and helpful, whatever you need.

The pub was a short walk from town, station and sea.Clean, bright room with pleasing colours. We had a train to catch and were let stay late. A young man who worked in the pub carried our heavy bags up stairs for us. ( without being asked )

I booked the B&B for me and my husband for a quite break away.
The B&B is very misleading as it is right over a pub, which it not mentioned in the description or pictures. Room was very small with a tiny gap to walk around to get in bed. Window didn't close and the amount of bird poo on the window outside was disgusting even had a rotten dead bird. Ensuite was clean and modern however space was very tight, my husband is 6'4 so he had to sit sideways on the toilet as sink got in the way, shower was a squeeze to get into as sliding door gap was far to small. Location is right in the centre of the town which is ideal for nights out.

All good!

Rooms in an annex to the pub were clean and ensuite with plentiful hot water. The pub ( downstairs) was a 'mens bar' but all staff we encountered were more than helpful. 2 cafes a short walk away on the seafront serve breakfast. parking in adjacent streets a bit busy but we always found a free overnight slot in the 3 nights we were there. Would book again.

Room was lovely and clean, lots of space for storage and hanging space for clothes and a good supply of tea/coffee which was replenished each day. A large double bed and single in the triple room which was very comfortable. A good location very close to beach and town ccentre. Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us, would definitely stay again.

Our stay was very enjoyable. Room very comfortable and quiet.
We found it difficult to make any contact with the front desk during our stay.

Overall pretty good, was pleasantly surprised by the rooms as the exterior isn’t the most welcoming around the back, but once you’re in the room it was spacious, clean & very comfortable. Main downside was parking (there isn’t any…) - I parked up at Rock Gardens which is a 5min walk away & right on the beach, free from 8pm-8am so had to pay for a few hours in the afternoon. Definitely worth staying for the night if in the Bognor area.
