It is situated in the perfect location. It is close to the Ferry and beach. the hotel is Lovely and has all the amenities you need. The staff and management go all out to make sure your stay is perfect!!

Tiny rooms- king balcony suite had 12 inch gap either side of the bed- no closet to hang clothing, small bathroom. Rest of hotel was nicely kept- good restaurants adjoining- everywhere except your room size- is good. Staff can offer different answers to simple questions- they appear to be getting better organized - but certainly need this.

Overall overpriced for what they offer

We enjoyed our stay at the Rockaway for the most part. The hotel is nice especially considering the surrounding area. There are multiple nice areas in the hotel that you can relax including the pool, two dining areas, a lobby & two rooftop lounges. The morning dining area was exceptional. My husband has dietary restrictions & the staff, manager, and chef were accommodating & attentive to his needs which put him at ease. There were a few snags in other areas though. Upon arrival, the AC in our room was broken so our room was stuffy. It worked when turned on but made a high buzzing sound. I asked to change rooms & was told that all the rooms did that. I knew better so insisted on moving rooms. I was right because our next room was cool and quiet. It felt like the staff was trying to get out of improving our situation. Then the shower was really hard to figure out. I asked the front desk how it worked & this time another person told me that they didn’t know how it worked either & referred me to an instruction manual. At a 4 star hotel, I should be able to shower without a manual. There was also no coffee maker or waters which must be a NY thing. Ok, but we had to refill waters in the hallway from a fountain. 4star places should have these basics in each room OR a snack shop in the lobby. Even some basics behind the counter to buy. Service was excellent! Bikes & beach supplies avail to guests made it fun for us. All staff were A just a few tweaks needed to make it perfect.

Beautiful hotel blocks from Rockaway Beach

The hotel is beautiful. A very nicely decorated lobby and pool area. The room was nicely appointed, and I especially liked the bathroom and the balcony. I had room service the first evening, and the food was tasty and delivered in a reasonable amount of time considering how busy their restaurant is. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here when in the Rockaways.

For the price we paid (>$600/night) we expected at least a 4 star hotel experience, let alone some place that basically markets itself as a little resort. The AC in our room was gross (spewed water and mysterious black chunks onto the bed), the floor in our room hadn’t been swept or mopped, and the dining service at the rooftop and the restaurant were really bad. You can tell that they are trying to win over customers with flash and style, but do not have the right management in place to actually make things work well. Disappointed and will not be returning.

We had a great time at the Rockaway Hotel. Staff, room, pool, restaurants all lovely. Make sure you make use of their amenities. Beach chairs, Umbrellas, bikes, and enjoy your stay!

Very loud music prevented sleep and loud hard rock does not fit with the spa theme. They need to decide what they want to be. People attending a spa want peace and quiet, not a full night of hard rock. Front desk staff insisted that the view attached is a bay view. That was truly odd, but they did finally agree to move us. The property is clean and nice. Housekeeping friendly and excellent.

What a fabulous accidental find this hotel was. The decor is uplifting and cool, the beds are super comfortable, the food was great. The highlight was the excellent and friendly service from all the poolside staff.

We loved our stay. The staff is outstanding. The property is chic. We love the black art and its placement around the hotel. Its proximity to the Ferry allows for easy trips into Manhattan. No subway! Great place to stay! We’ll be back!

It was not that good experience which I was expecting we spent three days and the things bothered me that the room size of two queens bed was little small in the picture it was showing big but actually it’s not and the other thing this hotel is 12 miles away from the JFK airport and on Expedia it was showing 4.5miles I paid $400 a night it was little expensive according to the room size

They charged the $46 amenity fee twice - once on the reservation and once after we checked out. The fee was supposed to include a "welcome drink" and morning coffee. Nope. (We borrowed very poorly maintained cruiser bikes from them at least.) One of the lights in our room was burnt out. We called the staff, and they said they'd send someone up right away. Nope. Great location. Pretty building. Maybe they'll get better. Valet parking was super slow (>30'). Just self park in the neighborhood. We'll burn money elsewhere next time. Lol.

All staff members were amazing from the front desk to the dining staff, go see Cliff! Best waiter out there. Took good care of me with my allergies and accommodated my pregnant wife.. downside is that someone was throwing a party on Sunday night and music was like a lil Wayne concert until midnight. Wish they were respectful of the people there as well as others with their kids ect. Also, very limited on food options on THREE different restaurants, would like to see more options.. Overall great place to spend time

The hotel is clean and clearly a lot of thought went to the style and activities. We had one day with good weather out of two and really enjoyed the pool, bar and restaurant (Margie’s). Despite the price which felt high for a hotel in rockaway, the cleanliness and convenience coming from the city made it worthwhile. I would have given it a 4 or a 5, except for our interactions with the reception. First they were having internal discussions when we arrived and weren’t very informative or nice. Same thing happened at checkout. When we arrived home we received an invoice for an extra 50$ we weren’t expecting so we called and the receptionist said it’s for the complimentary drink and beach chairs and other amenities. We explained that it’s strange enough to charge for these things (at least without clear explanation), but we were never made aware of any of these amenities or drink, but she didn’t seem to care or offer to cancel it which left us with a pretty bad taste.

Love, love the hotel. The design is very unique. Beds are comfy. Highly recommend

Amazing and beautiful on the outside and in! Staff friendly! Unfortunately the room is too high tech for me . You need a key card to get on the elevator. The air conditioner unit is difficult and inefficient. The television wasn’t working and to top it off the bathtub is absolutely complicated. Shouldn’t there be just one knob. The multiple knobs seem very expensive to install and unnecessary. I just got married the day of and to come into a difficult to navigate room was disheartening. Staff was absolutely responsive but my husband and I felt terrible being the annoying pesky customers who called multiple times because if it was not one thing it was another. This hotel will rock if the room is people friendly because if I didn't speak the native language I would not have been able to stay.

Super friendly staff

The hotel was very clean and the staff was extremely responsive and cordial. It is located in a relatively safe area adjacent to the boardwalk. The fees charged are excessive. There are amenities and convention fees charged each day, regardless of your reason for staying there or the inability to experience some amenities due to the weather, for example. The hotel’s parking lot is a few blocks away. Walking there can be an experience when the weather is inclement. The option is to pay for valet parking that uses the same lot. For the total cost charged that included daily state and local taxes, the overall experience fell slightly short of what I would expect of this hotel. It also lacked some amenities that are complimentary at other hotels of the same caliber.
