The room was tiny. I paid the same amount last time and got much better room.

Stayed in the Economy room(s) side of the hotel- gate 35. Very comfortable, the bed fit two adults well and the comforter (duvets) were exceptional. Breakfast in Norway seems to be an important meal-more so than on the States. That being said, the spread offered each morning at Johan was 5 stars. Honestly I would pay separately to just eat breakfast here

Keep in mind there is a remodeling, construction going on outside of the hotel inside an old building down below the guests room. We were not able to relax during the day nor sleep in the morning due to constant loud noises. It looks like this activity has been going on for some time and will be continuing for some time as well. Be aware! The breakfast was great.

Lovely location central to sights and ferries. A budget room here does not have AC and is identified as such in the hotel signs. I thought that was not appropriate. Nice breakfast and good value for downtown Oslo.

The reception was OK, but won´t hurt to add a bit smile! The room was so hot (30C+), and noises from pubs below made me stay awake until 4 in the morning! I got a warning message from the hotel for the noise, but it would have been better if I was warned before I selected the room! Nevertheless, the breakfast buffét was amazing, definitely a 5-star one!

Terrible, thin glass and walls . We could hear the party downstairs in the pub the whole night. We couldn’t sleep until 4 o clock in the morning. I ask the lady at at the front desk to get another room . She refused. It was real torture.

The location looked okay, but my room was right on top of a restaurant bar with live music. It was very small, and I later found out I had booked a room on the "economy" side of the hotel. It had no A/C, and the air was very stuffy. Did I mention the room was small? The breakfast was awesome - but given that I left early, I wasn't able to enjoy it on the second day, and I was not allowed a refund. Overall, there are better options in Oslo. Even by Oslo standards, this was expensive.

I upgraded from the budget room to a better one, cause all the budget rooms had their windows out to a very noisy air vent. Definetly worth the money also to get a bit closer to entrance and diving area. Would not reccomend the budget rooms

Staff were quick to resolve an issue to my satisfaction that I had with my stay - excellent breakfast - great front desk staff - I’d stay here again.

Good spot for a night or two to explore the city. The breakfast was good with lots of variety. We stayed in a budget room and it was fairly spacious and modern. Paid parking garage is a 5 min walk away.

To be clear, we stayed on the budget side of the hotel. The rooms were musty, cramped, and noisy. My earplugs were no match for the nightclub thumping away until 3am. Which meant you didn't want to open your window despite the stifling mugginess of the room which was so small you could hardly open your suitcase. On the plus side, the location was excellent and the breakfast was a beautiful smorgasbord. Ten stars for the most beautiful breakfast buffet you can imagine! If you go, don't even consider staying on the budget side. If you complain about your room, they will try to upsell you to the expensive side anyway.

Beautiful location set along a beautiful park, 1 block from the harbor. Plenty of dining, shopping & things to do nearby. Staff was super friendly & helpful. I had a Parkview room and didn't really hear any noise even though they set up for the King of Denmark's procession that went right past the hotel!!!

During the (thus) hottest day in Oslo of the year, I was given a room right above one of the main A/C units - with no A/C in the room, i.e. the window had to be opened to the wonderful high pitched whine of the A/C unit cooling other people's rooms. This was sorted out immediately when I complained, though I had to walk down to the reception and back to the new room, which actually is kind of far - the hotel is huge. They could have come up with the key. The clerk, upon me checking in originally and again when I complained about the A/C noise, was quick to point out that I was in a budget room. OK? Not sure what that has to do with anything - it was what was available in their hotel and not a problem for me, except when I'm made to feel like some sort of second class citizen by having my nose rubbed in it. Other than these minor gripes, no issues at all with the hotel. Everything was clean and neat, breakfast was good and it was good value for the (budget) money.

Nice hotel and service, but noisy. A bar nextdor played music untio 02 am and the streetworkes came 4.3 am...impossible to sleep with room to the street.

We had a budget room. It was still very nice. There was a jazzclub under our window, with of course some noise reaching us, but we didn't mind it. The location, service and breakfast was excellent.
