Unfortunately we had a negative and noisy experience. Our room was a ground floor room with the AC facing towards the adjacent property which is a bowling hall and concert venue. Until past 11pm we heard loud music and cars. At 1:10AM we were woken up by a group of loud people walking by our door. The guests above us woke us up at 5am with walking and we were not able to get back to sleep. Ceilings are wood and we heard every single step. Because of all of this we hardly got any sleep. Matresses were extremely soft and when we arrived the toilet in the bathroom was not flushed. Not related but generally the furniture was outdated and lived in. The positive reviews online made us book this accomodation. Front desk staff was friendly but didn’t offer anything. We really wanted to like this place but our experience unfortunately will not make us come back.

We were just passing through and only stayed one night but we enjoyed our stay. The grounds were very nice and the view from the pool was spectacular. Our room was spacious, very clean and very quiet. We were within walking distance to the downtown area and restaurants. They served complimentary coffee and tea in the morning in the lobby. It was interesting learning about the history of the hotel.

I have been to lake placid many times but have never stayed here. I will be coming back here from now on. It is such a great location and everything was so lovely and convenient.

Stephanie at front desk was great telling us about the local area and Art devlin history while we ate breakfast. Location was great for walking to main st restaurants and shops. Our room was very big and bathroom spacious. Tables outside room were nice for having an evening glass of wine. Nice to be able to grab quick continental breakfast in the morning.

We got a room on the second floor with mountain view and a balcony, and it was gorgeous! The room had vaulted ceilings and an Adirondack vibe to it. Everything was very clean and in working order. The only thing I didn’t love is how small the showers are. I’m 5’8” and my husband is 6’3”, and we both had to hunch over to shower. Otherwise everything was perfect!

We’ve always loved staying at the Devlin. The rooms a big and comfortable. The the balcony is wonderful overlooking the mountains and great to enjoy a day in Placid even when it rains. It’s in a quieter part of town but still walkable to everything. Plus it has a microwave and fridge which is always helpful during a stay. We’ll continue to keep coming back year after year.

Motel in a great location - easily walkable to restaurants, shopping, and Mirror Lake in Lake Placid.
Spacious, comfy bed, mostly a good room.
A couple significant, common motel issues though:
- AC was not powerful enough to really cool the room, especially with a large room and the AC wall unit around a corner from the bed area
- extremely loud - from adjacent neighbors, outside noises, and especially any sounds upstairs

Easily one of the cleanest and most comfortable rooms we have ever stayed in! The view of the mountains and Olympic ski jumping towers from our second floor room was excellent. The staff at check-in were great! Lots of eating options within a couple blocks and just a short walk up to The Olympic Center and the main strip. Will be our go-to next time we visit Lake Placid.

A very dated, historical place. But we loved every moment of it. Has updates but you can see and feel the history. Was very cool. The pool is heated, so we should have went swimming. I wish that continental breakfasts had more vegan options. Tried to add pictures but the app wouldn't let me.

This property was walking distance to the skating rinks and downtown restaurants. There was coffee in the morning, but skip the pre-packaged snacks. No street or traffic noise at night. Beautiful views of the mountains from the pool and tables to sit out and enjoy them. Lots of parking. We kept our road bikes in the room and enjoyed riding the new rail trail to Saranac Lake which is just around the corner. There is a hose on site to rinse dust off the bicycles after a ride. We will definitely stay here again.

We spent a night at The Devlin just for a quick weekend getaway. Everything about this place is outstanding. The woman at the check-in counter was super pleasant and helpful. The room (one king bed) was spacious and clean. The location was excellent .. easy walk to downtown. Absolutely nothing bad to say about The Devlin. Highly recommend!!

This property is really a 3.5 rating for all areas. It’s conveniently located in Lake Placid but the property is tired. My room was clean. Breakfast is full of sugared packaged goods. Walls are thin. I heard people enjoying the pool.

We loved the history about this property! At check in the woman at the front desk was the nicest most informative receptionist I have ever encountered. She walked us through the history of the hotel, the famous Devlin family, restaurant's, mirror lake, & attractions near by. One of the best check ins we ever had! During check out we interacted with her again & another wonderful lady who helped us with our ventures for that day. Very informative & both were so sweet. We will definitely come back to this hotel it was super clean, comfortable, & so convenient so we could walk to & around mirror lake. We couldn’t have been happy with everything. Thank you very much for taking the time with us- we made a lot of special memories here at The Devlin & mirror lake.

Despite many previous trips to LP, I had never heard of the Devlin before but ended up booking last minute for a family trip. The pricing was amazing I’m comparison to most of the other places to stay! Service was great (my mom ended up chatting with the front desk employee for about 10 minutes asking about who Art Devlin was 😅) and very helpful. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable and everything was impeccably clean. The property also had multiple seating areas outside with tables, chairs and umbrellas, and the pool area was super clean as well. The view of the mountains all around the Devlin was amazing! It is a little bit more of a walk to the main shops but by that I mean maybe a 5 minute walk to start at the Olympic center. I would definitely recommend the Devlin and would definitely stay here again!
