Cottage was nice and good condition. The screened-in front porch is great. Nice breezes come through from the ocean. Owner communicated well pre and during our stay. Cleaning group was very quick to pick up yard debris from the storm. We did not want to be directly on the ocean or the river. This location fit the bill for commuting to shopping and restaurants.

Nice quiet neighborhood. Home was perfect for 3 couples and our dogs. Pier close to home is an extra plus! Great fishing there! We would definatly stay here again!

Great Neighborhood and Location. This little cottage is located two blocks from the Intercoastal waterway. The place had 3 bedrooms, a well supplied Kitchen and nice bathroom. We were within walking distance from the dock and had the opportunity to fish and kayak. The intercoastal is a very busy water way so you should be a decent kayaker if you plan on lounching from the dock area. The people there are very friendly and the town is awesome. Great Food. We did not go to the beach so can not say anything about that but everything thing you need is within a short drive. We will visit this area again in the future.

Great house great location very clean. And the owner was easy to talk to. Would love to stay here again. I love how easy it was to get to ocean isle, Holden and sunset beach!

What a wonderful experience at this home! Close to everything's! We especially liked how close it was to the waterway and the ocean. Quiet neighborhood and very cozy home. We will definitely will be staying again next year. Thank you for everything Mike!

Communication with the property owner was great. The property was as described. The pier was a very short walk and beautiful views. Only negative was we had to leave early because of the hurricane. Thank you for letting us rent your cottage Mike.

And roaches all over floors in every room but they were dead first I pick all up and put in trash and we did not see any more till on Thursday of the week one was in kitchen on floor then owner asked me to leave my dog on the front porch and I did but he scratch a small hole in the screen and he made me pay 75 dollars for it where he had people that he paid to clean and spray house that done it was only small scratch

To sum it up in 3 words "easy and awesome". The check in and all the pre arrival questions were delt efficiently and professionally by the owner himself, Mike. He was timely in his responses as well factual and detailed. What struck me the most was that he presented and preformed as a person that not only had great concern about his property, but moreover he cared about those who were renting his place, the experience they were having and did call he could to endure that the experience was problem free. He was available at any point if there was an issue or problem to be delt with . This was very reassuring and for the record we had zero issues or problems. The house itself for us was just the right size is very well maintained and was clean clean clean upon our arrival. The neighborhood it's located in is very quiet and peaceful. You have a great view of the intercoastal waterway from the front screened in porch and gets plenty of shade from the large trees located in the yard. . Once your settled in and start exploring you quickly find out that you are close to everything. Wether it's Walmart or Blazes's Public's or the ocean, the majority of places you may want to go are only a few minutes from this base location. Additionally not one time for the duration of our stay did we encounter any traffic problems. The people we encounter were great. Wether it was shopping laying around the beach eating or just checking the area out, the people we uncountered were great. They were polite, outgonig and helpful. Finally if your into events well you have picked the right spot. It seemed to us that the area and areas next to it always had something going on. It might be music in the park, a festival, sporting event or the ever present fishing tournament there was always something going on or something worth checking out. That's in addition to the golf courses that are very close by, along with some of the best places to eat that you have ever been to. All of this is within a few short minutes of this homes location. In closing and on a personal note, we had the best time while there. Relaxing doesn't even begin to discribe what we got out of our stay. It's Andrea we enjoyed being in at a home that was really a home away from home provided to us by an owner that not only cares about those who rent his home but rather wants to share the amenities, peaceful feelings and experiences that this home and it's location has to offer. Mike had a great house that is fully furnished for your stay. There was great communication throughout and he has a really nice home. The house is close to the beach and the town of Ocean Isle just minutes away. I would recommend coming to this house if you are in need of a vacation.

We found a well equipped kitchen, wonderful porch, and quiet community. We would absolutely live here if we could. Caught lots of fish off the community dock and saw dolphins right in front of the dock.

Nothing fancy but very peaceful, if you need to destress this is the place to stay. Mike was a great host and rental offers everything you need to make memories and enjoy your stay. Thanks again for letting us use your cabin.

Need to be clean and should be renovate as soon as possible. Update everything. We will not go back.

Great property well managed with all the comforts of home. First time rental for us for the winter and we really enjoyed the location and the neighbors.

Nice house with a good location in the community and easy access to groceries and activities. All ammenities require paying extra wifi, sheets, towels, etc. With no wifi verizon had weak service at the house. All this was communicated prior to renting. We will consider renting again and fishing on the pier was productive.Very nice neighbors and we met alot of great people.

This place was so amazing I would live here if I could the location is great it’s 5 minutes from the beach but in a semi wooded area nice little cottage mike was great I hope to book here again it literally makes my family want to move to ocean isle beach I love the fact that it’s not commercialized it’s not too built up but has nice little shops around we didn’t want to leave at all we were all sad it was so nice to get away to go to the beach but also have an amazing little cottage to just relax in when we weren’t at the beach please book this property if you have the chance I know I plan on booking again sometime

The house was clean and cozy. Just a minutes walk to the pier for some relaxing and fishing. The other pier was so close for launching our kayaks. Loved the front porch at night.

The place is older so we knew it might appear shabby, but the ceiling fan had an inch of dust on the blades, & the surrounding walls also had dust on them, the floors were not obviously dirty, but after cleaning the fan & walls, & bathrooms- (knobs in showers had black mold in them) - we cleaned for 3 hours - when I wiped the floor with a rag it was black. Mike was surprised by the conditions I described & assured me the unit was cleaned & he had thoroughly cleaned at the start of the season himself. He refunded a nominal amount for the inconvenience & said he was going to contact someone to inspect & determine if there is a problem with the HVAC causing excessive dirt/dust to be circulated. The location is lovely and the neighborhood is very quiet, so if the issue is resolved, the unit would be a nice, reasonably priced place to stay.

We loved this property! It was comfortable and not to far from the beach. The house was clean and ready when we arrived. Mike was easy to communicate with from the beginning and any time I had questions he was prompt with responding. We will definitely be renting from him again in the future!

Another year in the books at Shangrala!! We always have a wonderful time. The location is great! The docks make for great fishing and it's only a 7 minute drive to the beach. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The people are very friendly, even to us tourists!! Mike Healey, the property owner, is very responsive and cares that your vacation is worry free. I highly recommend any of his properties.

The first night we arrived I had to clean hand prints and dirt off the walls in the room with the twin beds. The floors were disgusting, my baby’s knees and feet were black, and so were ours. After reaching out to the owner all he said was “I know it’s clean I was there 7 days ago” and kept listing all of the things that were done. Repeatedly saying he gets 5 star reviews on his cleaning lady. Then had the audacity the next day to send his cleaning lady over to the house with a mop for me to do it, which was a huge insult. There was also black dog hair all over the floor, my dog is blonde. Corners, baseboards, and showers were all nasty. You can’t complain to him because he gets mouthy and defensive. Also there were roaches. Beds were extremely uncomfortable! Neighborhood was nice and owner is very responsive, we did have an issue with tv which he took care of immediately but we will never book this property again.

Peaceful neighborhood, away from the beach noise but close enough to go daily. Restaurants, groceries, stores, golf are all nearby as well as your pier for fishing, crabbing, and bird watching.Mike is easy to communicate with and checks to be sure you are satisfied.Sorry we had to leave, so relaxing.
