My friend and I rented this property for five nights in January - one, if not the coldest month of the year in Medoc. There was frost at night but the gite was pleasantly warm and though there was not a radiator in every room it was well insulated and very well appointed. Great value for money and within walking distance of the centre of Hourtin, a large supermarket plus usual services.

A niggle......prior instructions to find the gite were excellent but when we got there it was locked and no-one around to let us in. Entry was with a key inside a security box but we did not have the code. That needed a telephone call to the owner. Knowing the system before we arrived would have been a bonus.

We had a superb stay at Maison. The interior design is fantastic, especially the master bedroom. everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
