It was paradise. This hotel is about as perfect as you can get from the amazing service to rooms with every thoughtful detail. Breakfast was delicious too. I will definitely stay here again. We had a wonderful time. Gracias .

Both mornings of my stay, workers started cutting wood with an electric saw inside the area at 0730. I complained to the front desk and was issued the standard apology but the next morning it was the same.
When I checked out I asked to speak to the manager in charge, after a wait of approximately 10
Minutes with no manager appearing or no other personnel coming forth with an explanation, I left.
Lots of wait staff in the restaurant but well trained in ignoring clients.
My overall experience was very poor.

His property is extremely beautiful and it's in the perfect area because it's walkable to all the parts of town that you're going to want to be in. From high-end restaurants to hole in the wall coffee shops that are run by Mom and Pop, This is an amazing City to visit.

Original we were given a room for handicap then we asked to be switched rooms and we were put in a small room with no view other a wall . I felt like I was out in the dungeon .
Previously had amazing room and beautiful view but this time I was disappointed .

Perfect location, beautiful colonial architecture but the rooms need to be renovated. The furniture is dated and the bed /pillows are not comfortable.

Beautiful pool and grounds, family friendly. Great buffet breakfast which is not included. Easy walk to the main square, beautiful views of Vulcan Aqua.

Great place to relax - felt very luxurious and comfortable. The staff were always available and helpful, the pool and food were excellent, and the room was beautiful, spacious, and clean. The pool are is gorgeous and made it all feel like a resort, with the advantages of Antigua nearby (but without a lot of noise).
The macaws were an added delight- check out their 70 year history - my partner saw the same ones there as a child!
As an environmentalist, I would have liked more information around their eco-friendly efforts, but I never saw a plastic bottle or straw (they use paper straws).

The property is beautiful, the amenities are amazing, the staff is great, the restaurant was awesome too. The hotel was centrally located so we were able to explore a lot by foot. The staff went above and beyond to help my girlfriend whom isn't bilingual, they helped us set up safe rides and tours as well

We encountered the coffee offered in the room opened and like it had been tampered with. In the doorstep of our room there was a huge roach. Breakfast ambiance was beautiful, however we were served overcooked eggs that were clearly not able to eat and we were not replaced with a new dish nor refunded our money for the plate. The staff was not trained well on charges added to my account. The receptionist didn’t have any knowledge on the charges added to the tab of the room. Misinformed us on what the charges were. Spa was amazing on everything.

I asked staff for transportation around the city and they were not able to help me. I found transportation around Antigua on my own. The AC was not working night one. Staff can really improve on their attentiveness.

The photos of the property do not do it justice. The place is stunning. The staff is unbelievably kind. The food was delicious. The hotel had doormen for what seemed all night. They even took the address of where we were going from our Uber to ensure safety. I could not have asked for a better stay.

I have stayed at Porta Hotel Antigua before. It’s one of my favorite hotels in Guatemala. During reservation, I accidentally requested double bed (only me in the room). After I got to the room I noticed. I went back to the from desk and requested a single bed. They were able to accommodate me. Great job.
