Fantastic stay, staff and hotel were awesome, nothing beats the beach view from the room!

The entire staff was very nice and the view from the room was wonderful. Our room didn’t have an exhaust fan so the room was extremely humid. Also the water in the shower was luke warm 3 of the 4 showers

The staff were fantastic! The rooms could use some updating however, the bed was comfy and the view was perfect. If you’re a smoker like me, it’s a little inconvenient to have to go down to the lobby and stand in front of the hotel to smoke. I understand not smoking in the room (I don’t smoke inside my home but you are not allowed to smoke in the balcony or in the breezeways. With that being said, everything you need is within walking distance. A plethora of restaurants, shops and even a little corner market that takes 5 minutes to walk to. This is a hotel we would stay at again if we visit in the future

Couldn’t sleep at night with loud heavy machinery operating all night long to restore the beach there. No TV also!!

Lobby is beautiful! Can’t beat the beachfront location. Fun beach bar. Loved that parking was included. Rooms need some TLC. We were charged $30 to sit on beach chairs for the day. We’d assumed a beachfront hotel would provide their guests with beach chairs; quite a shock.

Hotel was old and needed updating. Phone charger stations in my room didn’t work. Balcony was so small you couldn’t fit a chair on it to sit down. No smoking allowed on balcony even with door to room closed. $350.00 fine. Very overpriced at $250.00 a night. early check out required a forfeiture of one nights room fee.

The staff was amazing, every single one was so friendly and helpful, addressed any request immediately! The coffee shop was great, and the restaurant was wonderful. My only disappointment was that you had to purchase a chair on the beach, I realize that the chairs were managed by another company. It would be nice if there could be so sort of collaboration with the hotel for guest. Otherwise, it is a great place to stay!

Price was too high. Did not have a microwave or chairs for the deck in the room. Turns out that we could have asked for these. The chairs we figured out on our own and the microwave we were told about when we checked out and complained about it. This should be offered. Plus, at this price point there should be free breakfast since the units do not have kitchens - they have a restaurant on site that could handle this.

The staff was great and the allowance of us to bring our dogs was helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tides. We came the week after Labor Day so getting into the off season. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a beautiful unobstructed ocean view. Parking is easy and we never needed to use our car. We were able to walk to bars, restaurant, shops, etc. within a few blocks.

Terrific long weekend stay at the Tides @ Folly Beach! We played in the ocean and swam in the pool. We ate poolside and had dinner onsite at Blu. We have made this or base of operations while visiting Charleston a couple times. The staff is attentive and friendly - that has been consistent over our trips the past couple years. We will stay there again.

The service is what made this stay most enjoyable. Everyone was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and did their job a efficiently.

Staff outside and front desk were great. The place needs a total renovation and management to train the staff. The room cleaning staff was not very willing to do their work. No English, didn't even know to take the tips we left every day. Then our 4 year old decided to do some cleaning and.....idk what she got from under the bed but it was nasty. For a cracksmoking hotel ok but oceanfront and the dollars they charged nope never again

We just spent three nights at this property. The entire staff did a great job of making our stay more enjoyable. If we needed anything it was taken care of immediately! We appreciated the fact that everything was a short walk to access. We stayed Wednesday thru Saturday. Wednesday they were hosting a surfing experience for autistic children , the property was very busy but the staff handled it well. Thursday was a quiet day on the property but by Friday you could tell that things were ramping up for the weekend.If you want quiet and relaxation, I recommend staying Sunday-Thursday, weekends have a party atmosphere . We had appetizers and drinks at Blu on Friday night. We got right in without reservations but I would recommend reservations! Service was great and food was good. The hotel is a former Holiday Inn , great location right on the beach with all rooms having ocean views. The first floor has been updated and very nice, the rooms have had some updates and are satisfactory but the bathrooms could use a complete redo. It’s clean , just needs updating! We had issues with a loud air conditioner in our room and they immediately checked it out and moved us to a different room. We ran into a problem with our phone not working and it was taken care of in less than 10 minutes. You can’t beat the location, with bars and restaurants located at the property and right across the street. There are many choices in a four block area. Loved the laid back vibe of Folly Beach !

All the rooms are oceanfront and clean. Staff was great.

Location directly on the beach is rarely found at this affordable price. We enjoy parking the car once and being able to walk wherever we go.

Over all it was good, at this price range you would hope to have breakfast included, a microwave, little things make a big difference some times

The Tides is the best place to stay @ Folly Beach. Staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. Hotel is beautiful.

The staff was wonderful. Went above keeping us comfortable and satisfied.

I love this place. I think they are in the process of renovating some of the rooms. The place has been here forever and needs a little facelift. Best place to go if you have a dog, especially in the off-season. I come here several times a year.

We enjoyed an upper level room that had been completely remodeled ~ new flooring, bathroom, etc. We loved having an ocean front view ~ although it took two of us to open and close the sliding glass door (it was not recently replaced). The beds were comfortable, but were soft and a bit lumpy like they had maybe not replaced the mattresses, but added toppers. Overall it was really nice, although there was an incident a couple of doors down from us where a man had beat up another man. Lots of uniformed people and emergency vehicles and after they all left a woman was crying and wailing on the balcony until almost midnight. Not the hotels fault, of course, but lots of noise and commotion.

Staff was friendly and attentive. From the bellhops to the front desk to the bar and wait staff - all very good. Property is in a great location. Right in the center of it all in Folly. . .on the beach, near the pier and many dining and drinking options.
