Nice large family room easy access for train into Venice

A four-star dreaming of being a two-star. I am sure that, maybe in its heyday, Hotel de la Ville was a prime business. Clearly, those days are long gone. The rooms, the corridors, the building in general is clearly dating, but management resorts to one of the oldest tricks in the trade: keep a decent lobby, just to save face. Quite large (50, 80 even 160 people) one-night groups from countries not known for their high sanitation standards travelling on low-low-cost tours along with very, very blue-collar guests, some of them carrying huge dogs, seem to be its market niche. Imagine. In all fairness, Hotel de la Ville delivers the quality corresponding exactly to the price it charges, thus meaning: cheap is cheap and a four-stars, in reality, is a two-stars. I should not complain either about a €3 breakfast even if it includes staled cornetti, runny scrambled eggs, expired milk, badly kept yoghurt, awful coffee and ¾ foam, rather cold capuccinos or a $80 room with bad housekeeping. To add insult to injury, Hotel de la Ville is located in a tough neighborhood where strange, suspicious characters from a shelter next door continuously hover around the property, especially at night.

The very welcoming personnel, the hight service level make you forget about few things that should be improved like nosy air conditioning and television that does not work, to be in a suite should have not happen however the service was 5 stars thank you

Run down four star hotel. Very friendly staff is the only real positive. The rooms are big but outdated, malfunctioning airconditioning keeps temperatures very high, impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom floor. Breakfast just ok but basic. Many three star hotels are way better so do not understand the 4 star rating.

Nice and clean room. Professional and helpful stuff. We also had dinner there and it was great quality.

the service and cleanliness of the hotel was brilliant, breakfast/dinner staff could not do enough for you and the room was clean. the rooms however do need modernising for the prices being charged and something that is not due to the hotel was the immediate surrounding area is not the best

Hotel was good, clean and comfortable.

The hotel is about 3/4 mile from the center of Vicenza and easy to get to. The underground parking is a bonus, even if some of the spots can be quite tight getting in and out of. The rooms are fine, just pretty dated. Definitely in need of some paint. The A/C and Internet were definite pluses, as both worked fine. The room size was pretty large, the breakfast looked good too. The biggest negative was that the locati on didn’t feel as it was the safest, through no fault of the hotel. If you are traveling for business for a day, it’s fine. Longer than that, I would probably be more comfortable staying somewhere else.

The staff were great and helped with every wish we had. I appreciate after nearly two years of Covid that hotels don't have a lot of money, but the suite we had needed considerable maintenance and should not really have been used. The fitting-out of the room was also lacking (no TV in TV cabinet in lounge, only one lightbulb on one wall in lounge was too dark). Public areas were in a lot better condition.

The best staff I have found in a Hotel. Room was verry clean and spacious.

The shower needed some updating. The shower drain cover was not attached correctly and it slid off causing someone to slip. The doorknob was different from all of the other doorknobs in the hallway. It didn’t fit correctly. As a result, without being extremely careful closing, fingers got caught. The knob was on room 205. The walls were very thin and the wood floors were very noisy, so you heard everything in the room next door.

Can ride a bus to and from the city centre.

Ants all over the room people sleeping on the roof visible from the room not a safe part of town the food at the restaurant made me sick

Hotel is on a nice location for exploring Vicenza. Only 15 minutes by foot from old city. Superior room is big with a standard bathroom, but some investment in modern furniture will improve a lot the general aspect. Garage for parking is excellent. In conclusion, in spite of some space for improvement I will come back to this hotel if I am coming to Vicenza. The city is beautiful and worth to visit, Palladio and etc.

Very comfortable bed. Very nice hotel and very good restaurant in the hotel. Was a very good choice for one night business trip Also the free parking and free breakfast was excellent addition.

Reception staff very helpful in giving recommendations, directions, & in saving an item of property I had left behind. All spoke good English. Breakfasts excellent choice - very strong on catering for special diets. Hotel is large & when I was there had a conference, & a party of students. Excellent view from 7th floor, but soundproofing from neighbouring rooms needed work. The room I was in had no bedside table, something I hope can be sorted for future guests, perhaps by changing the bed to a single one. Was also lacking a safe. Hotel has a restaurant for evening meals. It was a little further from the city centre than I had realised from the map.

I liked the location from train, the staff, and how clean it was. I did not like that their was no AC available

We chose this hotel as it had parking and was relatively close to the old town. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good especially as it included a lot of healthy seeds and nuts to go in the muesli. It was about a 12 minute walk to the old town gate along a busy main road. As we were leaving early on our last day we asked for a packed breakfast. It wasnt a problem for them but when we opened it we were very disappointed. None of the nice cakes or fruit from the breakfast buffet just some hard toast, Nutella and a bottle of fizzy water! A sad way to end what was otherwise a very good stay

Hotel is nice, rooms are huge and air conditioning is great especially since it was extremely hot while I was there! Helpful amenity kits, nice size shower and bathroom, which isn't always the case in Europe! Located a bit far from city center in not so nice area.

Hotel was fantastic!

Although mainly a business hotel, as tourists we found this a very good place to be based. It was around a ten minute walk from the city centre of Vicenza and all the sights, and around a fifteen-minute walk from the railway station. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean. Being a little way out of the centre, and set back from the road, it was also quiet. The breakfast was good and even when it was busy the staff ensured everything was kept well-stocked. Although the restaurant menu did not have a large choice in the evening, it was more than adequate and the food was good.

Walkable to the town for a fairly fit person. Hotel reception open 24/7 staff friendly and helpful. The barman helped us with hot drinks on our return to the hotel, reception staff helped us at 3am when we arrived and left. Please note car park entrance to hotel is shut off for hotel security from 12pm so you have to walk around. Room was large, great views of the town from the 7th floor, large windows.
