The hotel is a nice part of time close to the harbor. It is a bit of a maze inside the hotel and the gym facilities are limited. The breakfast is really amazing. Excellent for American standards. People are friendly and a late check out at 2pm was possible without cost.

Lovely hotel in a great location for local sights. I was staying for the Oslo Marathon and the Expo/start line was about 5 minutes away.

Hotel was beautifully situated on a lovely street close to good restaurants, nice shops and train station. Although rooms are on the small size, they are well appointed with very comfortable beds and pillows. The staff are wonderful and the morning breakfast is top notch. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Oslo.

The kindness of the receptionists could be improved, then it would be better.

The check in was not happy. Staff: Delina was able to show other guests to their room but not for us. I had the opinion that it was due to my hubby was on an electric wheelchair. I was even told to go and check the rooms on my own as the room that I have booked my hubby will not be able to access to it. But after checking with my daughter noted it is possible. Also, when I asked for an extension of 1 hour I was refused rudely by the staff: Anders. I do understand I am not entitled to an extension, but it will be nice the staff can explain the reason rather a flat and fierce tone of No. I stayed many hotels in my Norway journey this time and some with only 3 stars, but the staff service is excellent. This is the worst hotel that I have stayed in this journey.

The breakfast was amazing and the hotel was close to everything. Although we didn’t get a room with a view, we loved this hotel!

I liked the view from my window (Room 511), the room itself was a bit small, especially the bathroom, but as I was only one person, it worked out fine.The breakfast was good and extremely comprehensive, and very well organized. The location was good as well.

Great windows overlooking karl johannsgate

Great stay at Karl Johan Hotel. Very centrally located and gorgeous facility. A bit confusing to navigate to the rooms however the staff was helpful. Breakfast that was included was one of the best we’ve had when traveling offered at a hotel. We were supposed to have a check in at 3pm but weren’t able to get in until 5pm due to them being behind on cleaning which was the only big draw back. Would stay again though, definitely!

Excellent hotel in tremendous location! Housekeeping staff always said good morning or good afternoon. Very cheerful! Breakfast quality was extremely good! One bad thing is that there is no breakfast buffet on weekends and we were not told that when we checked in.

The first room we got was obviously a single room into which they shoved another bed. Then result was there was no light or night table on one side and it was completely impossible to get out of one side of the bed which was jammed against a wall. When we complained, they came to check and then gave us another room which was fine. Well located.

The Karl Johan hotel is very conveniently located in Oslo. The rooms are very spacious for a European hotel. The breakfast buffet is delicious and has everything you can think of. The hotel does have elevators but also has stairs that you have to use to get to most rooms.

Centrally located hotel with excellent amenities and decent breakfast. Our room was upgraded and we stayed there for a night.

So the location is right in the middle of everything on Karl Johan’s gate and walkable to just about anywhere you need to go except the sculpture garden. Very close to train and tram. The breakfast is excellent. Room is very small - more like that of a large closet and the seagulls are loud at night. All in all, a nice stay. Oslo isn’t cheap but this place is decent value vs the rest of the places.

We loved this hotel. The only reason we did not give it five stars is because there wasn’t really anywhere to hang clothes and there is no room service. We didn’t need either of these but some people do. The breakfast is excellent, the room was very clean with a great ambience. We would stay here again.

This hotel is located in the heart of Oslo and conveniently walkable to several tourist attractions, restaurants, cheaters, etc. Our room was clean and the staff were great.
