Great place to stay in Dana Point/LA area. Cary was great and the house was too! Would definitely stay there again!!

Lovely home with a wonderful collection of books, maps, and framed documents for the history buff. Spacious and clean, comfortable and convenient. We were in Dana Point for a wedding, but we could easily have stayed at Castle by the Sea for a week or two.

Cary was a very good host, making sure we had what we needed and the home was ready. Our stay was flawless, the home is comfortable, a great location, clean and well taken care of. Walking distance to a great Hawaiian pancake house that was perfect for breakfast, especially if you are hungry before heading to the beach.

We had such a fun and comfortable stay in Cary's home. It is in a lovely neighborhood and an easy walk to Doheny State Beach. Spacious and comfortable overall, and the kitchen was very well stocked. Comfortable beds. Great communication by Cary. Everything you would want and I definitely recommend it.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this 3-bedroom home. The home was very spacious decks, and it even had a 3rd floor deck with a peek-a-boo view! I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay with couples or adults because of the stairs leading up to the house and indoors as well. Little children may not be be to handle them as well as jr. high or high school children.

Cary was very accommodating, location to everything in Dana Point was incredible. Great views from the top of the castle!

We had a wonderful stay at the “Castle by the Sea.” The house was spacious and well appointed, all as depicted in the listing. It is also in a great location, close to the harbor with easy access to the freeway. We would be more than happy to stay there again on our next visit to Dana Point.

My adult family and I stayed at the property in Jun/Jul 2023. We found the owner, Cary, to be really helpful and accommodating. He provided easy instructions to access the property before and when we first arrived. He also dealt with any issues during our stay really quickly, which all added to how much we enjoyed our holiday. The property was clean, spacious and comfortable and we would not hesitate to stay again in the future.

This was a great home with plenty of space for our family of four. It was clean and modern, and had plenty of space to spread out in. It was just a short drive to the beach and several good restaurants. We only had a couple of days in Dana Point, but we made the most of it and enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our visit and loved the location which was a short walk to beach and restaurants. Fresh flowers and putting green were nice touches. Well stocked kitchen and great living room and huge tv. Outdoor decks and furniture were a bit weathered and dirty but overall a great experience and highly recommended!!

Decided to stay in the Dana Point area for our two-week California vacation coming from the Northeast. Couldn’t have found a better house and neighborhood! We were extremely comfortable and enjoyed the surrounding area with fairly short trips to the tourist spots i.e. San Diego. Cary was a wonderful host. Very responsive with any questions we had during our stay. We rented an SUV and were able to park in the driveway. It’s quite steep and any low profile cars would need to park in the street. We will definitely consider booking again when we return to Dana Point!

We were very happy to stay at Cary's home for the weekend while in Dana Point. It is in a great neighborhood and location. The home itself had all the amenities you could need for a trip. I will absolutely try to stay here again when I'm back in Dana Point.

We had a great stay at Castle by the Sea. The property was great, location was excellent - close to the beach, harbour, shops, and restaurants. We would definitely return here next time we visit!

Had a very enjoyable stay at Cary’s castle by the sea! Home was comfortable and had everything we needed. Close to everything. We walked to the harbor for a birthday celebration dinner and to the Festival of Whales. Nice parks near by for hiking and viewing the ocean. Saw several whales and what seemed like hundreds of dolphins on our whale watching tour. Hope to return when it’s a bit warmer outside and we can stay longer!

We visited Dana Point for a short 3 night visit and had a great time and stay at the “Castle by the Sea”. The location was central to all things Dana Point and the surrounding area. The home itself was lovely…great to come back to make meals, just relax and to sit outside and enjoy the evenings. We would not hesitate to book another stay here and will do so if we have the opportunity.

Perfect location for visiting the local beach areas, mission, and art festivals. Lots of options available for DoorDash delivery to this location also. Kitchen was well appointed and house had everything we needed and more to make it easy to immediately settle in and enjoy our trip on arrival. Will definitely add on my list of places to stay when in the area. Neighborhood was nice and quiet and the house felt just like it should—a home away from home. Thanks Cary for a great guest experience!

Very nice neighborhood on a very quiet street. Walking distance to most local attractions (albeit with some hills).

Well appointed home within walking distance to great views and restaurants. Great outdoor seating with views. Master bedroom spacious and comfortable.
