The Inn at Truckee also has coin operated washers and dryers for travelers or campers between camps. The Inn is clean, beds are comfy, dining options are a very short walk, and the staff is very friendly. Recommended

The staff at check in was extremely nice.

Breakfast was convenient. Staff person at desk was very helpful. We appreciated snack vending machine as we were hungry when we got back late. Location was close to our event. However, the lobby and hallways had an odor, the bathroom floor was very sticky, the hotel badly needs updating, location is close to I80 so road noise is significant. The beds were clean, even under the mattresses. I was expecting more for the price.

Good location for me to attend the Donner Lake open water swim on Saturday.

Definitely an older place, but beds and room were clean. Carpet is older. Does smell like disinfectant, but honestly wasn’t that big of a deal. Our tv remote wasn’t working and the staff came up and fixed the issue immediately. Staff was so kind. For one night it was perfect. I was impressed by the breakfast in the morning. Lots of options.

I had an excellent stay at the Inn. The front desk staff were exceptionally nice- even greeted my dog! The room was spacious and clean. Perfect for my dog and I. The property is beautiful. They have done a really nice job with their landscaping and have a really nice patio area with tables and chairs to sit on. The location is perfect- across the street from a bike/walking path, near grocery store and restaurants and close drive to Donner State Park. I really enjoyed my stay.

Hotel was ok for last minute booking. Rooms are small and there is nobody there after 9pm to help or if you have questions.

This is such a cute in, the room is really spacious and had everything we need, fridge, microwave and a nice bathroom. Especially good because they had an AC which helps when it’s so hot up here. The location is so convenient, you can literally walk to the lake or the stores close by. Definitely recommend it!

When you step into the Inn, the smell of strong disinfectant hit you first. The carpet in a hallway looked pretty dirty. Also, inside the room, the air condition unit was so loud that woked me up several times during the night. I give 2/5 rating.

Noisy and no personnel in the night

This property was not well maintained at all I asked when I got to the lobby if the rooms were clean and she assured me they were I got a room with two clean beds and the one bed on the top. You can tell that somebody had been sitting on there and soiled it, and when I pulled the sheep back, it looked like somebody had slept in it. The floors had carpet, and it looked like somebody had eaten and left food and bedded in the carpet. There was particles of food not small, but big I thought it was popcorn I don’t really know what it was , the traffic from the 80 freeway was continuous all night long. There was no hand soap so I had to use a cleansing bar to wash my hands. I didn’t even take a shower. It was that bad and slept in my clothes. I woke up my back was an excruciating pain. The mattress is way too big for the bed , there were smeared prints all over the handles. The light switches the consul and when I woke up, my face is full of bug bites along with parts of my body. I complained and I was told why didn’t I let them know it was a Friday night too I didn’t know I’d be bit by a bunch of bugs until I woke up the next morning and three there was a second bed so I slept in that of course I use no sheets no pillows nothing the door to get into the hotel on the side was never secured or locked. It’s a shame. I think it could be a great property. The staff wouldn’t return my money not even half of it so I would say twice.

Conveniently situated on a peaceful road with easy access to the freeway. At walkable distance to cafes and restaurants. This tranquil place has wide-open parking on two sides and a stream right behind the property, with water flowing down from the hills. The rooms are clean, and the front desk personnel are friendly. I enjoyed my continental breakfast on the patio table while watching the sunrise over the green hills. It was a wonderful experience!

I searched places to stay that had spa area the entire area was shut down and couldn’t be used would have been nice to know that before booking or at least prior to my stay

Unfortunately other than the ideal location and the friendly lady that checked us in, this was a broken motel style stay that is in terrible need of attention. The lights didn’t work with the light switch and one of them wouldn’t turn off so we had to unplug it, the door didn’t have the additional chain security lock, the lampshades were cracked/broken, the toilet seat was broken, the shower curtain was stained in multiple spots on the inside, the tub didn’t have an anti slip mat or texture and was so slippery we slipped when we got in the shower. The bathroom door wouldn’t stay closed or locked. There was an old mismatched decrepit table and chair set in the room next to a spot on the wall that was taped up/covering some kind of black tubing, the window didn’t lock and there were spiderwebs in the window. The pillows and mattress were a step above sleeping on concrete slabs. The smell in the room was so strongly of some kind of disinfectant or air freshener attempt we had to leave the window open upon check in and all night and still woke up with headaches.

We recently stayed at Inn at Truckee and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort it offered. The check-in process was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My room was clean, well-maintained, and had all the basic amenities I needed, including free Wi-Fi and a comfortable bed. The location is convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and restaurants. Despite being close to the highway, the room was quiet, ensuring a restful night's sleep. It offers complimentary breakfast, which was a great start to my day. There is ample parking available, which made it easy to come and go as I pleased. Overall, provides excellent value for money, combining comfort, convenience, and friendly service. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable place to stay.

Old motel! Too expensive for a dumpy “MOTEL 6” type motel….. you get what you pay for but $276.00 for this was ridiculous! Guess it’s all about location….. Front desk staff was Super! Dog friendly a PLUS!

We liked the convenient location, and the staff was friendly. Pretty good continental breakfast. Good restaurants within walking distance, or a short drive away. Our room didn’t have a working bathroom fan or hair dryer. Our room was dusty, and the inside of the hotel is very outdated and shabby. There was a back entrance that was not secure, which made me nervous having my 3 kids there. There was a potentially beautiful area in the back with the Truckee River close by. However, the area is dirty and covered with litter.

Room was a bit worn down with age. Loose shower knobs, for instance. The power cut off when we ran the microwave and TV at the same time. But everything was clean and the staff was nice.

The Inn did show renovations yet still had an aged look. There were no extra frills. Had to request a hair dryer. The price did equate to extra frills not being present.

Not a bad spot, we'll be back
