The desk clerk was awful. His name Roland. He didnt like Americans and took every opportunity to insult us. We dined at your hotel and ordered a hamburger only to be scolded because we were in Italy asking for a burger. He was rude with an attitude every time we asked for something. The young lady was very nice and gracious.

This is a good hotel. Spacious room for three with a good shower and aircon. The parking is very handy and a reasonable swimming pool. Breakfast was also good. The staff were welcoming and happy to help - we were late for breakfast but they did not rush us.

Everything is great about it, expect the price is very high.

Terrible receptionist (older man) who met us with an attitude. A younger lady that also worked there, was much more friendly. Terrible beds! Not going back because of that.
4.0
Nice and friendly Italian style hotel.
Comfortable and spacious rooms - with lovely views and balcony.
Nice and soundproofed rooms.
Lovely staff - especially our reception lady and the fun and irony-versed man who did everything from reception work to telling anecdotes of his gospel singing.
The traffic in the garden can be a bit annoying, but the pool area was very nice - and more secluded.
Be prepared to walk a bit if you’re going to Lenno, but except for some stretches with traffic it’s a nice and scenic walk.
We enjoyed the dinner we had one of the nights we stayed in.
All in all pretty pleasant.
5.0
Charming Hotel. Family of 4 (kids 6/7) staying for 2 nights.
Positive things:
Location is very nice.
Friendly staff.
Good food at the Restaurant of the Hotel
Small Swimmingpool.
Charming exterior and entrance.
Parking garage at the Hotel
Room for improvement:
Cleaning could be better.
Aircondition was very noisy so we had to turn it off during the night.

Do NOT ever book this hotel. I booked and paid for my room in FULL 1 month ago. There was a large car event in Lake Como.. Well…….. 3 nights before my arrival. They emailed to say they Could Not Honor my stay!!!! I had already paid in full. Do NOT ever book this hotel.

Loved it. The staff were really really helpful and could not do enough for you to ensure you rested during your holiday.

Our stay in the hotel was agreeable, there is a parking for 10 extra eur/day and the hotel is situated very close to the lake (only one street separating)
The room and the hotel was super clean, the room was nicely furnished and very bright.
we used the room service, it was tasty and efficient
the breakfast was good a well and pretty various

It was nice, a bit loud in the evening from the road, but not too bad. Staff were very welcoming and helpful

Parking sure is an adventure and although it says that you don‘t have to book in advance, I would email the hotel next time and ask for spot #23...the only one where you can just drive in straight without having to navigate the columns.
The location is convenient to Menaggio and Lenno - from where you can take the ferries. The immediate surroundings of the hotel aren’t that great though. Our room was small and somewhat dark - okay for a short stay, but definitely not a longer vacation. Pool was somewhat cold.
In the end, it’s good quality for money, though.

Fabulous location ,our rooms were at the front with amazing lake views , our girls loved the pool , nice restaurant with yummy pizzas .We had a lovely week with out 2 children , only problem was the air conditioning in our room , seemed to be controlled by reception our other room air conditioning was fine , good service , & helpful staff !

Clean and tidy accomodation. Air conditioning and swimming pool were great features. Fantastic view of the lake from our balcony. We used the garage parking for 10€ a night.

Clean, tidy, very efficient friendly staff who were incredibly helpful. The location is fabulous and there are plenty of places to eat/drink in easy walking distance. The pool is a decent size and there were plenty of sun beds available.

We were well greeted, room was entirely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, at several meals on the patio, all great! In all, great location, and wonderful stay!!

Probably the best value hotel on Lake Como.
We have been few time at hotel Lario for business. And we absolutely love the friendly & helpful staff, the pool is good!
Beautiful view on the lake from the Balcony.
Yes, the main road is just in front of the hotel. It’s a great place if you are not planning to chill on your balcony.
Very centrale too. Easy to walk and take the boat. The green way walk is great!

Room with a view was really great!
Breakfast was good. Dinner was ok, was expecting better quality, but the price wasn't outrageous for what we've got.
Would come back if only just for the room with the view. ;)

Nice, clean hotel, very good customer service, and good breakfast. It was a quick stay for us but a good one.

The staff at the Hotel Lario on Lake Como were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were very good with a wide range of choice and soya milk was provided as I am lactose intolerant.I paid a lot of money for this hotel, and paid about 10 months in advance. However, the room I was given was a bit disappointing. The French windows opened onto an area at the side of the kitchen. It was very noisy and I did not feel comfortable stepping onto the area outside the windows, which was supposed to be a private balcony because of this. There was too much furniture for such a small room, and the bed frame was too big for the mattress. Several times I bumped into the bed frame and I still have bruises 5-6 days later.

Decent location, very clean hotel and awesome breakfast. The hotel is a little dated, but nothing dramatic. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area and have is a great top on avoiding traffic jams heading south. Did not try the pool, though there is one available. Overall, great hotel for s budget booking!

We have just returned from a very lovely stay at the Lario Hotel.
The hotel is fairly isolated so a car could be handy. Having said that if you enjoy walking and don't mind a few pathless roads into the town, everywhere is nearby.
Villa Carlotta and Villa de Balbianello are nearby. We walked to both after breakfast and were back early afternoon with plenty of time to enjoy a swim in the hotel pool.
Also there is a great regular boat service 10 mins walk away which takes you across the lake to the beautiful villages of Bellagio and Varenna.
This hotel is affordable, clean and functional. Out room was a good size and comfortable with a shared terrace with amazing views of the mountains and lake( room 108) . The food is of a decent quality and reasonably priced although not a massive choice (we ate dinner there on four nights out of seven.) The staff were always helpful and very friendly even so far as allowing us to have breakfast earlier on one morning when we were out on a day trip.
If you want a good, reasonably priced hotel in the middle of beautiful Lake Como with a pool and access to all the important landmarks in the area then this is a brilliant hotel.

We had booked a room with a mountain view as there didnt seem to be a lake view room available. However our room was on the first floor and overlooked all the machinery for the kitchen fans, air conditioning, heating etc so was not a very pleasant view. We spoke to the staff and were able to upgrade to a lake view room at an additional cost (10 euros per night). This room was very good. Breakfast at the hotel was fairly basic in terms of a continental buffet style but acceptable. The evening meal had a choice of set menu of the day or a la carte and we ate there twice. The first time the set menu was good but not so good the second time. The a la carte menu though was good.

Our experience is similar to other reviewers who were unfortunate enough to get one of the upper floor rooms. We were disappointed and felt we should have got better for our money.
Positives: friendly staff, onsite garage parking, clean room.
Negatives: air-con that is control at reception so we were too hot; uncomfy, springy bed; dangerous road to attractions & restaurants.

We booked and paid the extra for a Lake View upgrade. Unexpectedly, we were given the crap room on the fifth floor ( only one room on this floor). The stairs don't seem to meet any safety standard. The room door opens onto a downward turning staircase. We nearly fell down stairs. The exhaust of the fridge heated up the room. The air-con unit made more noise than anything. The room was hot and hard to sleep, especially hard and lumpy mattress. The Lake View is just a joke, through a small window over the roof. The bathroom is tiny and shower drain was blocked. The hotel should not let any customer stay in this room at all. The staff can speak english well. The road is very noisy and dangerous for walking.
2.5
Excellent hotel. Location difficult access by foot as there are only partial pavements one way and none the other.
This meant we used the car to go down to the shops etc
But a really nice hotel.

Great hotel. Enchanting area. The staff were very helpful and gave us ideas of where to visit or to eat.
The pool was lovely - especially during the heat wave.
The parking spaces in the garage were a little narrow and therefore difficult to park in.

The young lady at reception was very helpful, if your putting this place in your GPS and can't find in Tremezzina, it's because its in another town. Great place, little bit hard to find, located on a very narrow stretch of road, can be hectic to get in driveway. Pay extra for parking, or park the next block behind for free access via narrow road next to hotel Lario entrance.

The 2nd and 3rd floor balcony rooms are worth the extra money. The views are breath taking. And while the balcony is small, the two chairs offer a nice respite from a busy day of traveling. The window/door is a little tricky if you're not used to these European style windows. A full turn will allow you to tilt the window inward for gentle airflow in your room (it will look like the window is falling off the hinges but its how its designed to be used). A half turn to the handle allows you to open the windows like french doors so you can exit to the balcony. Overall, the hotel is beautiful, clean, well stocked and comfortable. They seem a little understaffed as the concierge also performs several other functions. I only saw 3 staffers our entire time and most of them were fulfilling multiple roles. The breakfast was underwhelming but decent. Parking costs a little extra but you get a safe underground, gated spot so its worth it. I'd stay here again.

Didn't realise when we booked that this is mainly used by people on coach tours staying 1 or 2 nights. Breakfast got a bit boring after a couple of days - continental only, but with boiled eggs as extra.
Rooms were clean enough, and have to say the bed was very comfy.
The staff were the best thing - very friendly and helpful, always happy and smiling - they were great.
The walk from the hotel is pretty dangerous, but the view from our balcony made up for that! You have to book a lake view!
Underground parking was a godsend too.
Overall, a decent enough hotel for a short break.

Lovely views overlooking lake and/or mountain. Great swimming pool. Staff very helpful, spoke good english.
Only reservation is busy road directly outside with no footpath.

Had a great room on the top floor with 2 terraces and a beautiful view of the lake. Staff was friendly and helpful. The street in front has notsidewalk for a several meters so be careful walking on that main drag of roadway.
6.0
Very average hotel with very basic facilities. Equivalent to a travelodge in UK but with a TV that doesn't work. Very expensive stay considering the standard of the hotel. Would not want to go back.

Warm welcome, excellent view of the lake from out room, staff really friendly...evening meal service good, food of a standard to be expected of this sort of hotel...felt welcomed...nice atmosphere.

We paid extra for a lake view and this was definitely worth doing; the view was stunning. The balcony was not huge but enough to sit out on. The pool was quite small but still adequate. The staff were very helpful, even helping us to book a private boat hire on the lake. All the staff spoke English very well. We used the hotel restaurant on our last night and food was quite nice.
Others have commented about the walk along a busy road; we also found this hair-raising at first but once you got over this it is a safer than it looks. I guess that the lack of a footpath is the main downside. We didn’t pay for parking, so parked in a free car park near the hotel (probably better to pay extra for the parking).
Breakfasts were reasonable, standard continental with the addition of boiled eggs.
