John the owner-manager was a most gracious host and made our stay even more wonderful. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable.

Every moment was special. John greeted me and before I arrived contacted me concerned about my being able to park when I arrived, but he saved me a space. Great breakfast in a gorgeous dining room

Lookaway Inn, circa 1890 mansion/bed and breakfast, located in N Augusta on a hill that, in its heyday, you could see from the Savannah river and viceversa. John was very cordial and welcomes us as we came in the front door. He showed us our room which was off to the side of others. Room was beautiful and furnished with period pieces. The bed was very comfortable and room was quiet. (There were only 2 other guest staying there). Bathroom was huge and stocked with assorted amenities. Shower/tub combo. The shower head probably needed to be replaced and the shower shut off valve adjusted because there was very little pressure for the shower and most of the water filled up the tub. Renovations were on tap for that room as mentioned to us by Linda, who took care of us during the morning breakfast. Basically a serve yourself style breakfast with eggs cooked to order by the attendant (Linda, who was very nice and very helpful and informative about the mansion). Overall , I gave an excellent rating on everything simply because we enjoyed ourselves aside from the minor issues.( TV was stubborn cause I couldn’t change channels, but this was before we went to sleep, so no worries). Great host. Nice breakfast. Internet spotty. Spacious room. Thermostat located in a different room, which is inconvenient, however host mentioned that they are working on getting thermostat for each room.

Our first visit to the Augusta/North Augusta area. A wonderful place to stay with a very kind and attentive staff. Perfectly located with easy access to the entire area. Highly recommend the Lookaway Inn.

What a beautiful property and wonderful stay. The room was historic with a great TV and updated bathroom. Our host John was very nice and cooked us eggs to go with the really good breakfast buffet. We hope to return.

Loved our stay! The room was perfect and clean! Loved the outside porch outside our room. The weather was beautiful and we took advantage of the porch and walking around the home and garden area. Everything was immaculate and you can tell that John the Innkeeper takes great pride in maintaining the home. We enjoyed our visit. The only downside was that we couldn’t stay longer.

Honestly one of the best places I have ever stayed at. The couple that operate the inn were SO warm and welcoming! Felt like staying at a friend’s house, but that friend has a REALLY nice house. Great location, best scrambled eggs ever, and great company for breakfast. Spacious rooms were definitely appreciated. Highly recommend.

Beautiful accommodations and warm, helpful owners! I was in town for a quilt show and was by myself for this trip. I am 60 and very cautious. I felt safe and comfortable leaving after dark to pick up dinner from a nearby restaurant. A full breakfast, provided by John (owner), was delicious! I look forward to staying here next year when I return for the annual quilt show.

It is in a great location with a beautiful view. I received a courtesy text from John, checking on our proposed arrival time. Was greeted at the door with "Hello Friend". Room was exceptional and very quiet. Couldn't have asked for anything better,

This is a beautiful property. John was great at check in and very helpful. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay a wonderful one and the Christmas decorations were gorgeous.

If you want to experience real southern hospitality and charm, this is the place to stay. John and his people (Miss Linda) are the perfect hosts. Loved this place. Lord willing, I'll be back.

Can't believe the quality of this place, particularly for the price. Beautiful old building, very well restored/maintained. Breakfast and pleasant conversation with the owner. The place to stay if you are in North Augusta.
