Very nice hotel. Clean. Great breakfast. It’s a little dated, but if you’re looking for a bossa nova Rio experience with kind people, then stay at this hotel.

Hotel Vermont was a total waste of money and an unpleasant way to start our time in Brazil. The room was TINY; my partner and I couldn’t move around at the same time. The sink leaked so there was a constant puddle in the bathroom. The floor was gritty. Breakfast was inedible. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful; for example, they couldn’t help me get on the wifi, and when I messaged the hotel ahead of our stay, they stopped replying to me after one message. On top of all this, we were charged an additional 12% “markup” on top of the price we were quoted by hotels.com; the hotel said this was for currency exchange, despite it being listed as a separate line item from the exchange rate and my credit card having no foreign transaction fees. There are far nicer condos for rent in the area for a better price; we thought the front desk help and breakfast would be worth it, but we really regret that decision.

The equivalent of a 2.5 star hotel. Rooms were not clean, sewage smell in bathroom, elevator broke one day, laundry service is a massive rip off. Cannot recommend unless the only thing you care about is location.

A boutique hotel located in a very convenient, walkable area in Ipanema (safer than Copacobana) - only 2 blocks away from the beach. Excellent breakfast with diverse selections. Very friendly front desk staff.

Very good location, easy to walk to. Beach, can also walk to Leblon or copacabana easily. Easy for Uber pick up and drop off aswell. Breakfast was good. Room was small but perfectly fine for our stay. Would recommend for staying in Ipanema.

The hotel is a great value. Very convenient to the beach, shopping and great restaurants. The housekeeping is also great, keeps room very clean. Friendly staff. Feels like family and home.

Hotel Vermont is one of my favorite hotels, I love everthing about it. The location, the rooms are spacious and very clean, the shower is piping hot, the breakfast is AMAZING.

The location was perfect; two blocks from the beach, 4 blocks from Lagoa, and surrounded by assorted restaurants. The breakfast was well presented with a great assortment of items, and the coffee was great. The staff was helpful, many being bi-lingual and some being tri-lingual.

I have stayed at this hotel 5 times now. It’s an amazing location near Ipanema beach and great restaurants and shops. It’s always clean, and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is always excellent. Highly recommended!

It's a small well run hotel. Good breakfast. Nice staff

Only issue I had with the hotel is they don't allow visitors. But life goes on the breakfast buffet is Phenomenal totally worth it. The music in the lobby area great.

It was an okay hotel, nothing more nothing less. The room was descent the breakfast was okay.

Bra opphold

The area was probably the safest option for staying in Rio, but still have to take precautions. The breakfast was excellent but prefer my scrambled eggs a little more done. Plenty of reasonable restaurants close by, beach area was nice but weather didn’t cooperate. People were very friendly, even though I don’t speak Portuguese.

Great location, There was a problem being able to open the window treatments, to let light in.
