We got a premium ocean view apartment and im glad we did. It was a good size and seemed to have been renovated. It had everything we needed although compared to other places we stayed they didnt provide as much dish soap etc...so we are glad we bought the leftover packets with us from where we stayed previously because it would have been silly to have to buy everything for one week. Although the property itself, entrance , pool area etc could use an upgrade the pool area was perfect for the kids and really nice to swim in. It would have been nice if the people on the front desk had been friendlier, it did feel like they resented being asked simple questions but we didnt let it worry us.

Old property but good condition apart from the shower heads that need replacing. Overall great place

No dishwasher. Unit had stale musty smell. Blankets were not folded properly in cupboard (which meant they had not been cleaned. Very basic accommodation. Would not want to stay in this unit again.

The view was outstanding. Close to beach but still quiet. Room was dated but kitchen very good, bathrooms fairly modern. View outweighed any negatives.

Cleanliness is second to none and very well maintained. Always felt safe and staff was very accommodating. We really enjoyed our 2 weeks there. Will stay again. Thanks again.

View was amazing and great location. Unfortunately the room looked nothing like photos presented online. Extremely dated and many cosmetic issues with apartment including stained carpets and rust. Nice heated pool but closed by 7 pm which was surprising. Loved the views from the apartment but would never have booked if photos had been remotely accurate. I understand each apartment is different but there has to be some semblance of accurate representation in what you’re selling.

Friendly staff, helpful, nice amenities

My unit was clean and modern. There were plenty of untensils and cooking equipment. The pool was clean with heaps of deck chairs around it The grounds were neat and tidy.

You can open so many windows and balconies.

Very friendly staff...nice and clean.. However, quite dated...we had standard room, lovely view from balcony. Bathrooms need updating but still very spacious and comfortable. Well equipped with laundry facilities too...On the whole would definitely book again..

Great location. Staff were very welcoming and very easy to deal with. Great swimming pool. The gym is very good and having a spa and sauna was great. Our apartment was beautifully renovated and furnished.

Property managers Inessa and Peter were exceptional. We arrived a day early for our accommodations and although they had no accommodation available they spent a lot of time helping us to find alternate accommodation. During our stay my husband ran out of his prescription medication so Peter called the local doctor and made an appointment for my husband. Lovely property in a beautiful position.

The property was in a great location and the apartment was spacious and clean with an excellent view. The caretakers were friendly and helpful.

Probably just our apartment but it was so dated. Reminded me of visiting my grandparents house back in the 80's. Desperate need for a refurbishment and the furniture was so old and furnishings dirty. Construction next door of another high rise building which we not told about.

I had a standard apartment with 2 beds 2 baths. It was very dated and was nowhere near 4 star. The view and location are awesome but the ancient horrible carpet needs to be replaced ASAP. I would advise ringing and checking if you’ll be in a refurbished unit BEFORE the free cancellation period. On checking in the receptionist made inappropriate (racist) remarks about my address and I felt she was judging me as I booked in as a solo female guest. Thankfully the gentleman in the office jumped in with some appropriate and welcoming remarks but it was a bit of a shock!

I highly recommend Southern Cross Apartments. Our stay there made a perfect wind-down holiday. The magnificent views allowed us to take in the ocean air and scenery without having to leave our apartment and when we did, the beach & restaurants were only a few steps away. We spent lazy days between the apartment, heated pool, games room and indoor sauna and spa, and if I had stayed longer I would have definitely tried out the well-equipped gym. It was a home away from home with an unintrusive service to match.

These apartments are in an excellent position right on the beach and walking distance to James Street. We were in a newly refurbished apartment which was a bonus.

This was our 2nd stay at Southern Cross Apartments. We had the best stay, the apartment was fantastic with unobstructed views of the entire gold coast. The staff were wonderful and we will be returning in the future.

The location on the esplanade and views overlooking the ocean were fantastic.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite it was very clean and modern and the owner was very helpful and we were given a welcome gift of vouchers for local restaurants we had a great stay
