Getting in and out the front door requires knowledge of the secret handshake (which also means setting things down). I was in the biggest room, which was very spacious; I did not peek into the other rooms.

A truly exceptional place on all fronts - beautifully decorated, full of history, wonderfully clean, every need anticipated and catered for. Owners are super lovely and it really is a wonderful place yo stay. There are a good number of restaurants in walking distance.

This property offered old style hospitality and the option of meeting fellow guests in a comfortable relaxed setting. The house was vintage in style and graciously furnished. Owners were friendly and knowledgeable.

A very nice property in Victorian style. The guest/owner is very friendly and helpful. The room was great, there is a shared "living room" with Port wine, Sherry and a cake and a nice (small) garden. When in the house, you truly feel set back to the Victorian time, it looks very authentic. Overall a great experience.

We had a late arrival but mrs Mandy was still receiving us and welcoming us in a very friendly way. She will make sure that all guests are comfortable in the Hotel which really looks excellent.

It was old world with cosy quiet spaces to sit and read. Miles better than a motel.

The motel is beautiful, very old & tastefully decorated to its era.

We really enjoyed staying at Victoria House. A lovely old world house. Very comfortable room. Beautiful open fire in lounge room. Friendly and helpful host.

Not a good experience to stay in this small inn. The receptionist was not available and the door was locked when we were at the door of the house. After checking in, immediately smelled something bad, likely from the clearing lady using very smelly organic solvent based product. The bad smell lasted whole night, disturbing our sleep. The beds and sheets felt old, like the house. Very disappointed.

From the warm personal welcome to the amazing history of the place, Victoria House is a wonderful accommodation experience. Great location in the heart of Portland. Lovely lounge and other common areas for relaxing, reading and chatting. We’ll definitely be back!
