I arrived at 2 AM and I messaged them that I will be checking in late. They were very kind and wait for me until I arrived.

This hotel seemed to be mostly well kept. They did not have AC which was a bit of a downside. The staff at the desk does not often speak English, although the manager/owner does, so be prepared to use your Spanish! Getting Uber is convenient and easy to do from the hotel. I had a shuttle that left to my next destination at 2:00pm on check out day, but the hotel did not allow for late checkouts. They were willing to keep my luggage though while I waited. They allowed me to wait at the property. The maids are extremely friendly. There is no restaurant in the hotel and the nearest restaurant is Taco Bell, less than a block away. I kept missing out on breakfast because their breakfast ends pretty early in the morning. I swore the sign in sheet said it went until 9:30am, but by 9am breakfast was already cleaned up. They have a really good coffee/cappuccino machine if you want coffee and it is $1 per cup.

Staff was excellent and very accommodating and having parking in the garage was a bonus.
The free breakfast was outstanding, I actually stayed there two days and Costa Rica

Yep, great place if you spend little time at your hotel, like conference or whatnot. The staff is super helpful and generous, always trying to help out.
A little noisy, but disappears into the general buzz of San Jose after a while.

The ataff at this older building made the visit very comfortable. Its an older, clean, well maintained hotel. It’s great to have free laundry facilities. The breakfast was variable. If you like eggs, request them.
Hotel transfers are arranged not included.
My taxi to the airport was not comfortable.

I called the reception at midnight and asked them to please stop the scandal that was on the first floor and in several rooms on the second floor. At 12:30 I personally went down and they knew who I am when I get angry. Never again in this place, it looks like a student canteen.

Hotel staff do not have good command of English, but they are very polite, helpful. If you speak Spanish, it is even better.

Covid-19 protocol was carried out to detail with spraying the bottoms of our shoes.
The hotel needs some cosmetic attention. It is nice that it has an elevator.
Breakfast was totalling disappointing. Not the typical Costa Rican breakfast, not quite continental either, it needs improvement.

The lobby, breakfast area was classic and very nice. Kitchenette was sufficiently equipped with small refrigerator, microwave, gas burners, sink. Water is clean and potable. Bed was made, towels replaced, room cleaned daily. Costa Rica has tiny ants everywhere. If you leave food out, they will find it.

I could here my neighbor talking to his girlfriend on his cell phone. How do I know it was his girlfriend? I could hear her responding to him through his earpiece.. not in the speakerphone cause that would be as loud s him.. I could hear everything. Often at 1:30 in the morning when he's arrive he'd play the clock ready for music. Every night without reading my voice, as if speaking to someone sitting next to me, if say.. "please turn that off, it's late" and he could hear me, verbalize his acknowledgement, and turn it off.
Zero privacy. No AC. Loud traffic starting every morning at 5am along with the train horn walking everyone up. Needless to say rest was an issue

Nice hotel; three minutes walk to the University campus. But you should know that one side of it faces railway tracks and is a bit noisy. That is why rooms on that side are cheap. For extra $30, they moved my to the opposite quieter side of the building. They provide transportation from the airport ($30). By taxi or Uber you can get from it everywhere.

We wanted a kitchen and for that it was good. The breakfast was a cold buffet where elsewhere in Costa Rica you get a good cooked breakfast, but we had the kitchen. I'd stay again

Very basic outdated hotel. The room was lacking basic necessities and charm. No mini bar, no wifi, toiletries. The bed was very small and uncomfortable with a horrible thin blanket that you would find at your grand mothers house. Wouldnt stay here again because there are lots of better hotels in the area for the same price and much better equiped. The service was excellent and the area is also great. Thank you

This is the perfect place to stay if you know San Jose a little bit. You are right in San Pedro with easy access to the rest of the city via public transportation. Nice restaurants are all within walking distance as is the pleasant campus of the University of Costa Rica. The campus is a great place for a run too! I like the fact that all rooms have kitchenettes too!
