Beautiful bush setting with well-kept gardens and lawn which attract lots of wildlife daily. Kangaroos arrive every afternoon.

Beautifully maintained gardens with roaming kangaroos and Emu, running waters give the place a very tranquil feel. Perfectly quiet at night, yet just a two minute walk from the village centre, so an ideal location. Owner managers, friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely like to stay again given the opportunity!

This is my second time staying here and I cant wait to come back again. Everything you need, well connected to everything Halls gap has to offer. Walking distance to cafes/brewery/icecream (take your pick) but nestled in a quiet spot. As a single traveler this is a great spot with reasonable rates to kick back and unwind, while still being connected. Great hosts as well, excellent communication.

This accommodation was excellent. D'Altons Studios are very well maintained and you can see the great work they are putting in to make even greater improvements. The lawn and garden area attracts much wildlife which and it's just lovely being able to sit on the porch and watch the animals and the mountains in the distance.

Ngaire and Paul have crafted an outstanding little oasis. The self-contained studio cottages are warm and comfortable, and the small kitchenette with the induction stovetop also makes them practical for the budget-conscious. The pond and garden in the centre of the property attracts the local mob of kangaroos and a wide range of native birds, some of which come right up to your door. The cottages are within walking distance of the main strip in Halls Gap, giving you easy access to local attractions like the Brambuk Cultural Centre and the Paper Scissors Rock Brewery. For the bushwalkers, several hiking tracks leading into the Wonderlands range of Gariwerd/Grampians National Park are close by, including popular spots like Lake Bellfield, Boroka Peak Lookout and the Pinnacles. The latter is even visible from the studios (hint: it's the ridge with the guard rail!) I'll definitely be staying here the next time, and I'd definitely recommend you do the same.

it was most enjoyable holiday with my husband. Of course, it is a beautiful national park where I had a few wonderful hikes (the provided books in the room about Grampians were appreciated), but the stay in D'Altons was particular nice - so relaxing, quite, lots of wildlife, little creek, comfortable cottage, and short walking distance to Halls Gap centre/shops. Bottle of Grampians vine as a gift from lovely hosts Ngaire for my birthday was really special.

A wonderful place to watch the sun set and the roos gather. A short walk to shops, but not too close that noise is ever a problem. I had lovely chats with both owners who really care about making the location a great stay for everyone.

It was cosy, wel equipped for 2 people, and close to to the town. Loved the welcoming committee of 3 kangaroos, who seemed to be residents in the garden.

I love this place. The staff are friendly - their nightly feeding of the kookaburras was great. They lit a fire in the fire pit & I met other travellers. The studio was spacious and well set up. Very comfortable. The real highlight for me was the wildlife everywhere - each studio seemed to have its own pet wallaby!

We had 4 fabulous days here with family and friends. The cottages had everything we needed. They were clean and comfortable. We could park beside our cottage. There was enough privacy from other cottages due to the layout. It was lovely to sit on the verandah in the afternoon with a glass of wine and watch the kangaroos and emus on the lawn in front of us. Restaurants were close, including the Indian (with robot waiters) across the road. The host (Ngaire?) was lovely, welcoming and helpful. It was a great base from which to do some of the great walks in the Grampians. If we ever come back this way, would definitely stay here again.

3 nights & we wanted more! The cabins look cute from the outside, & are surprisingly spacious within. Clean, well appointed & super comfy. 700m from Halls Gap info centre, but with a quiet bush type setting. Kangaroos at your door, magpies, cockatoos & a kookaburra on the verandah. The spa worked a treat, as did the free wifi. We had a problem with our air con, but it was sorted by our lovely hostess Ngaire quickly. Would not go anywhere else in future!
