Beautiful property and comfortable room.

There are some very nice positives but too many negatives to rate this resort higher. Pool, spa, sauna and yoga for my wife were all extremely positive. We went to their restaurant for our anniversary dinner when we got there and my wife wanted a chicken dish then a pasta dish, then lamb chops, then a strip steak , then a Reuben sandwich.. so she settled on a hamburger because the were out of all the above. A very nice bottle of wine and a burger. (Really). We paid big bucks to stay in the Inn at Bob Timberlake’s and we’re put in a handicap room near the entrance and the entrance door slammed every time someone came through it at all hours of the day and night. We met people in the 8 other Inn private rooms and they were beautiful. Bad luck with NO explanation or discount or “I am sorry”. The facility looked beautiful. Thought of bringing our extended family there but they need to get their act together. All the people wanted to please but they weren’t empowered to make things “right” even though they all said “what can we do to make things right”… Two couples we met at the Inn left early due to multiple issues that I mentioned and others not mentioned… like a bad cook at breakfast, a gas leak 12:30am that woke us up and we had to evacuate until 1:30am… no sleep that night and no kitchen/breakfast the next day due to the leak being there. We were finally glad the next day that we were leaving for Savannah then St. Augustine then home…

It was very walkable to the town of Blowing Rock. The property itself was so nice and peaceful. Enjoyed relaxing around the firepit.

Promised and paid for a lake-view room. Got a view of the restaurant roof and exhaust fans.

Well manicured and service was impeccable. The best in a while.

The property is beautifully situated on the lake and the rooms are both awesomely decorated and spacious. We have been several times and are never disappointed.

Your customer service, in all areas, was exceptional!! The room was wonderful, especially the fireplace and leather recliner and the mattress gave you a wonderful, restful night’s sleep. Plus the Bath robes were a very nice touch. Ate breakfast and dinner at the resort and all of our meals were exceptional!! But in the end, it’s still the staff, your people who made the biggest impressions on us - made us feel welcome everywhere we went on the property. Exceptional job, Chetola. We’ll be back!

Friendly staff, excellent private sitting rooms and amenities from guest services.

Great accommodations… we stayed in the inn and it was warm and cozy. The room was large and the fireplace was awesome. The food at Timberlakes was very good. The dining staff were all excellent, we had 2 separate meals at the restaurant. Looking forward to spending time there next December …. Hopefully stay longer next time. 😊

This place was awesome. Beautiful setting quiet very cozy staff was fantastic.

The Inn was wonderful in many ways. We had a pleasant stay. But there were a few things that could be improved. We clearly heard the band from the restaurant -- in our room! They finished at 9pm both nights but had we wanted to retire early.... The warm chocolate chip cookies were fabulous! As was having the restaurant right downstairs. But one morning the door was locked, so we had to go outside to get to the restaurant. It was cold; mildly inconvenient. Also, the water pressure in the shower was weak. That said, the staff was wonderful. The resort was enchanting as was the town of Blowing Rock and the environs.

Loved staying in the original lodge. Will stay longer next year

The location is beautiful with access to several trails. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

We really like the solitude and peaceful nature of Chetola. It is just what is needed when a break from the norm is necessary.

Awesome location, gold standard of amenities and staff were best practice.

The innkeepers were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the wine and social times.

Beautiful property nestled within a perfect outdoor setting. Impecable service, kind and courteous attention by all staff members, and very nice amenities. Nearby access to the Blue Ridge Parkway provides the perfect starting point for all outdoor activities within the area. Downtown Blowing Rock is just around the corner by either short walk or. car.

Great resort. Very close to downtown Blowing Rock

The property was beautiful. We drive through every time we visit Blowing Rock, but haven't stayed until now. The Timberlake Inn was everything, and more, that people have told us. Two areas we were not happy with was the air conditioning and lack of information upon check-in. When we arrived our thermostat showed an error. We reset it as instructed and it came back immediately. We called the front desk and the young lady said it was a fault with the Freon and to simply open our windows to get cool air and it would be fixed on Saturday. OK, we are reasonable people and dealt with the uncomfortable temps our first night. By this time our room temp was 75. We woke the next morning to temps in the upper 50's in our room, which we anticipated with a laugh and went about our day hiking in the mountains. Upon our return later that night we immediately went to bed only to wake up around midnight to the temp nearing 75 again with the same error code. Needless to say we were not in the mood to go through another night of uncomfortable sleep, but again, we dealt with it. Upon checking out, the power went out in the Inn and the young lady had no access to the computers to check the repair status. She said once they came back later that morning, we would receive our receipt. As I type this I have yet to receive any correspondence, and it is 11:30pm. Overall we loved our time and plan to stay again, but this was not the best first impression for either of us.
