The room was very nice and clean. Lovely breakfast which was included with the room rate. We actually came up to see Johnny Barr as he was the nights entertainment.

Absolutely loved our stay, and we’re so happy with our room. The bar and restaurant staff were super friendly and helped us enjoy the wide selection of drinks at the bar and a lovely dinner at the restaurant. Would absolutely recommend the food, and would urge you to stay!

Accommodation lovely, food excellent, staff friendly. Unfortunately our stay was marred by the fact that we were kept awake until 3.30am by music and chatter and laughter below us. We were in room 11. However, after speaking to a member of staff on reception in the morning, she kindly compensated us by voiding our bill from our meal the previous night which we found acceptable. We would stay again but avoid room 11 😂.

Warm, historical feel at this property. Restaurant was excellent, easily accommodated GF diet. Room was the most spacious we had in three weeks of road tripping. We were warned of the live music on Saturday nights but even with the window cracked, we couldn’t hear it. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

What a fabulous hotel! We loved everything about it. The room was excellent, clean and the staff were professional and welcoming. We arrived early (flew from Canada that morning) and the wonderful reception lady checked us in! I cannot say enough about that made our day after a long flight overseas!
The restaurant in the hotel served a delicious dinner, then breakfast in a super beautiful dining room full of charm and character!
We absolutely loved our time at the George Hotel! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will happily return!

Property of great character with bare stone walls in public areas. Warm with open log fire. Good lighting in dining area. Traditional wooden dining tables. Warm colours in stairway and landings. Attractive bedrooms with characterful furnishings. Clean modern bath/shower room.

This place was a delight, the food was wonderful and if you come to stay you must have one meal here. The rooms were lovely and we had everything we needed including tea and nespresso machines in the rooms. The staff was friendly and engaging and I would come back again.

My first visit to The George Hotel was in 1995, during my very first time in Scotland. On subsequent trips I always made it a point to come to Inverary to have an evening in the tavern, which is a wonderful experience, but had never spent the night. The room was very well-appointed and comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was very good indeed. Such a good location as well for it is only an hour or so from Glasgow, and the scenery on the way is truly beautiful. Already planning our next visit! Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

A unique and luxurious stay with award winning restaurant as well. Received a surprise upgrade and it was perfect to relax in after a long 2 week tour of Scotland. Just what we needed!

Amazing Library Suite perfect for this period building. I exceptionally clean and comfortable room with quirky double jacuzzi bath in the seating area! Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast delicious

What an absolute joy to be a guest at The George Hotel! Everything from the warm reception at the front desk to our amazing room, the delicious meals, and the very whisky-knowledgeable bartenders - a dream from start to finish. Love how dog-friendly everyone is as well, already planning a return trip!

The minute we walked in there was a buzz about the hotel, not noisy, but a lively vibe. The staff were all really friendly and appeared happy in their jobs. The room was large with chairs to sit on and well laid out.
When we booked they recommended we book for the restaurant which we had done and were pleased we did as it was full, and again a very nice vibe. The food was lovely.
In the bar next to the restaurant there was a good live band after dinner, with plenty of people listening to them.
Breakfast was self service buffet of cold food, then a good selection of freshly cooked hot options from the menu.
Overall a lovely hotel, well recommended.

Where do I start. The history of the hotel, the design, the atmosphere, the ghost stories, the staff, the local people, the amazing food and whiskey…it was such a great experience and fun stay. Highly recommend.

A lovely, family-run hotel. We had a beaitiful room thst was v cpsy, and like home-from-home. The service was excellent- meals arrived promptly and were delicious.Our only minor disappointment was that there wasnt a lounge for guests so after pur meal we were sitting chatting on wooden chairs. However, overall, an excellent place to stay!

We had a great stay here, only stayed one night. But upon arrival and seeing our room, wished we would have booked more nights. Both because the hotel was excellent and there was so much to see and hike around to in the area.

Great place to stay , room 24 was lovely. Breakfast was delicious. , lots of choice. We also had supper in the hotel Fish n Chip were yummy !

Myself and my husband stayed over for the night. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Bar had a great atmosphere, dinner was spot on and the live music was excellent. Would definitely return.

We had a lovely night's stay in the George Hotel. We stayed in the Library Suite which was treat. Very spacious, cosy furnishings, hot tub and candles. We booked in advance for dinner which is recommended as it is popular. The food was fabulous and restaurant staff were great. We then went through to the bar where there was a live singer on a Friday night. Again, great atmosphere. The bar was open til 1am which felt like a proper night out.
We really enjoyed breakfast the next morning too. Would definitely recomment the George Hotel to others and would return ourselves!
While in Inverary we spent an interesting 90 mins or so doing the jail tour and had a look around some of the lovely gift/craft shops.
