Hotel was cute. Loved the lobby. The room was very small but cozy. It's very loud at night, you can hear every noise from the outside so it's impossible to get good sleep. Bring ear plugs and an eye mask. BE WARNED!!!!!!! When booking through hotels.com or other third party you will be charged an extra $35 per night for a "destination fee". So you aren't really saving any money.

I was not told that I had to pay a destination fee at the hotel. Area is mediocre but good location and walkable to public transit and popular areas.

Hotel staff and valet were very friendly and welcoming! Room was comfortable and quiet, and the location was great for easy access to downtown. Cute hotel with great restaurants and speakeasy. Great walking distance within local restaurants and shops!

I booked through hotels.com, and prepaid for my room. I was rather shocked to find out there were additional fees called destination fees that were non-refundable added on at check in. I was then shown to a room where the air conditioner was as loud as a plane engine. When asked for maintenance to look at it I was told that this was a known issue for the last week. Why would they let anyone check into that room if they know that this is a problem? The hotel also has a minimal food and drink options. The lobby coffee bar is only open in the mornings, the rooftop restaurant is only open for dinner, and the bar area which takes up one entire half of the ground floor is only in operation on Thursday Friday and Saturday. For a hotel next to the downtown core, I find this rather shocking.

Too expensive. Resort fees are sleazy - just include with overall price. Tub in the room creates a splashing situation, gets on the carpet, etc. Still, Hoxton showers and tubs are luxurious and kind of amazing. The neighborhood is horrible. Drug addicts everywhere. Light switches are "charming" ie confusing. That said, overall ambiance is quite alluring and in total juxtaposition to outside locale.

To be fair, we did arrive pretty late in the evening. Their valet closed at 11pm so trying to find parking was insane. The street where you could normally park was closed off due to a block party. The location is great and right in the middle of the fun. And the staff was AMAZING!!!!! The hotel itself is clean and very chill.

The building itself is great, the staff is magnificent. I would have liked there to be a gym but is ok bcs you walk the city. The surrounding places are sketchy and would not recommend walking around by yourself at night. Also, too many homeless people around during the day.

One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was because they had a rooftop restaurant and bar which allowed us time to eat before the concert. When we checked in we were told it opened at 4:00 so we waited around until 4 to head up. Then when we arrived at the restaurant we were told there was a private party and we weren’t allowed to stay unless we paid an additional entrance fee. We had to go searching for a different place to eat and were very short on time because we thought we were eating at the hotel. The room was ridiculously small, which didn’t seem worth the nightly rate. I found long black hairs on the bed upon arrival. Outside the hotel is very dirty with homeless people sleeping and tweaking. I would not stay here again.

The hotel and the room here so nice and clean and very upscale. The staff were very friendly and helpful also. Located very close to the train station and public transportation spots so it was also very conveniently located.

Unique.... well that is the dark chocolate candy bar you can get at the front desk.. it has not been found in store and it is just ♥️. As for all the staff, I have never been greeted or farewelled by anyone in such a way. They are all funny, charming and all around nice. I would just book it.

This hotel is amazing. Friendly staff and great amenities. Our room was comfortable and clean. Unfortunately the area is a little dirty. At no point did it feel unsafe, but you need to be prepared that the area is not very clean and there are many unhoused individuals around. No one EVER bothered us, but if this is something you don't think you can handle, do your research on Portland's neighbourhood. If you're ok with everything, this area is walkable to almost everything you need.

This property was beautifully decorated, conveniently located. The rooms are on the smaller side.

We were shocked when we pulled up to the hotel and were greeted by a huge dumpster, boarded up businesses and homeless encampments. It felt terribly unsafe and that made the price even more shocking. I don’t understand how you can charge nearly $500 a night for a hotel located in such an awful area. We were put in an ADA room and our shower flooded the entire bathroom floor. The sink didn’t drain and the towels were tattered. I would never recommend this hotel. We were incredibly disappointed.

Great hotel, perfect for a short stay. Room was small but perfectly set up with hooks and hangers for your stuff. Loved the shower products! Location around the hotel can be a bit challenging.

The hotel was unique and cozy. We enjoyed the bars, restaurant, and cafe on site.

Rooms were WAY too small (for the price) for a couple, but cute design overall. Loved the lobby. Location is perfect for the food and nightlife nearby.

Location is iffy but the hotel itself is awesome. Rooftop restaurant Tope is the best. Awesome and Best means service, staff, overall features of hotel and restaurant. Worth it!

I LOVED that the Hoxton had 'shoebox' sized rooms and wish more hotels had this option for the solo travelers among us. Despite being small, it had everything I could want. I parked on the street which was easy, but I imagine some people might not be comfortable doing that (there are some homeless population around this area as there are in most of downtown PDX). The guy at the check-in was awesome.

Very nice hotel in a good location in Portland. Lots of homeless in the area but overall felt safe. Rooms are very tiny, perfect for someone just sleeping and for a short stay. Rooftop bar/restaurant is awesome.

Very clean and updated room. Elevator needed room key to operate. Loved that there was a bar and a restaurant on site. It was downtown, which we wanted, so some homeless people around but did not interfere with our trip

I did not like having to pay a $70 resort fee. There is nothing resort about this property so just ditch the fee and advertise the real room rate. There were so many homeless people hanging around the property so we parked the card with the hotel valet rather than much cheaper options and that added another $110. They did not even have free coffee in the lobby so I had to pay for coffee at the hotel coffee shop. The room was nice but we seriously could not figure out the lights so that was annoying. The best thing this room had going for it was the big comfortable bed, that was a good thing because I was nervous to be outside in the area after dark.

Hotel and staff were great. Our first room had a window with a draft facing traffic so it was noisy but the friendly front desk staff was quick to accommodate and give us a different room.
